Most of the illustrations which are used as explanatory of the substance matter contained herein are necessarily exaggerated in regard to sizes and distances, etc., the same as nearly all astronomical illustrations, and they are used mainly to show the application of the theory or principle involved. The author is well aware that the apparent movements of the satellites of the two farthest planets, also those of some of the comets may be referred to as exceptions, but as there are evidences of forces in operation at those remote if distances, the same as between those bodies and the Sun, it is the opinion of the author that it is only necessary to wait for greater scientific advantages, which will enable us to investigate further and more carefully, when natural forces will be found to be operating upon them in a strictly mechanical way.
