Book Phase Equilibrium Methods for Binary and Ternary Mixtures applications to the Nitrogen oxygen argon System

Download or read book Phase Equilibrium Methods for Binary and Ternary Mixtures applications to the Nitrogen oxygen argon System written by William Paul Clarke and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three models are used to predict vapor-liquid-equilibrium (VLE) properties of binary and ternary mixtures of nitrogen, argon, and oxygen. These models predict mixture properties using accurate wide-range equations of state for the pure-fluid components of the mixture. One model uses extended corresponding states principles to predict mixture properties. The other tow models combine coefficients of terms from the equations of state for the components in the mixture to obtain coefficients for a single equation which calculates mixture propertied directly. Iteration methods to solve the VLE constraint equations for different input combinations are presented. Equilibrium pressures and vapor phase compositions predicted by the three models are compared to experimental values from P-T-x-y data measured over a wide range of equilibrium states. The computer programs for the calculations reported in this work are listed in the appendices.

Book Argon oxygen nitrogen Three Component System Experimental Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data

Download or read book Argon oxygen nitrogen Three Component System Experimental Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data written by Grant M. Wilson and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Results for the experimental determination of vaporliquid equilibrium data in argon, oxygen, and nitrogen mixtures are presented. The experimental apparatus and procedures are described. The experimental data at 26, 23, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 atmosphere levels are presented. A correlation of our experimental data is made. Plots and tables of equilibrium constants, relative volatilities and activity coefficients are presented. Experimental and calculated results are compared and a comparison of the data to the literature is made. Analytical enthalpy data is presented. The correlation reproduces the experimental data with an error less than 2.5%; being worst at 20 atmospheres and best at 6 atmospheres. (Author).

Book Multiparameter Equations of State

Download or read book Multiparameter Equations of State written by Roland Span and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a basis for printed property charts and tables, empirical multiparameter equa tions of state have been the most important source of accurate thermodynamic property data for more than 30 years now. However, due to increasing demands on the accuracy of thermodynamic property data in computerised calculations as well as the availability of appropriate software tools, and the ever increasing computer power, such formulations are nowadays becoming a valuable tool for everyday work. This development has substantially increased the number of scientists, engi neers, and students who are working with empirical multiparameter equations of state, and it continues to do so. Nevertheless, common knowledge on this kind of thermodynamic property models and on the ongoing progress in this scientific discipline is still very limited. Multiparameter equations of state do not belong to the topics which are taught intensively in thermodynamic courses in engineering and natural sciences and the books and articles where they are published mainly deal with the thermodynamic properties of certain substances rather than with the theoretical background of the used equations of state. In contrast to this, my concern mainly was to give a survey of the theoretical background of multiparameter equations of state both with regard to their application and their development.
