Book How to Illustrate and Design Concept Cars

Download or read book How to Illustrate and Design Concept Cars written by Adrian Dewey and published by Veloce Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2011-11-15 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The automobile seems to be as popular now as it ever was. Posters of cars still adorn many a child’s bedroom wall, and school exercise books are full of doodles of cars. This book takes those notebook sketches and teaches you how to develop them into the car designs you see in magazines. Using simple to follow step-by-step drawings it guides you from pencil sketch to marker rendering, from doodle to highly visual computer generated artwork. Adrian Dewey has worked on designs as diverse as small sports cars to double decker buses, modified motors to concept Formula 1 cars, using various techniques and styles. In this book, he uses his knowledge of the different styles to guide the reader in creating great artwork and designs of their own. The book shows in detail how to use different materials and how to get the most out of each one, whether it be a great pencil sketch or a photo realistic vector illustration. The book also features an easy to follow index for quick reference on different types of drawing.

Book Practical Control of Electric Machines for EV HEVs

Download or read book Practical Control of Electric Machines for EV HEVs written by Shuiwen Shen and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-01 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Upon the ongoing profound revolution in the automotive industry, this book is primarily intended to give guidance on the practical design of traction motor control for pure electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). An overview of the state-of-the-art motor types is provided to help understanding the background of automotive motor drives and the EV/HEV motor control specifications. Using AC induction motor control as a benchmark example, it addresses the motor control techniques by means of design, analysis, examples with MATLAB scripts wherever applicable, and practical control software architecture diagrams. In particular, an extensive analysis and discussion are made on the widely used vector control method together with multiple optimization schemes. As such, it gives coverage of the electric traction control including dynamics, efficiency, and the high-speed power capability, taking into account the constraints of vehicle configuration and requirements. The vector control and optimization strategies presented in this book can be ported across to other AC motor types without losing much generality. This book tries to bridge the gap between theory and practicality. Beginning with basic motor theory and completing the motor control design by introducing voltage source inverter (VSI) pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques, it helps the reader take a step-by-step approach from understanding fundamental motor characteristics through to practical design of in-depth motor control strategies.

Book Modern Motor Car Practice Classic Reprint

Download or read book Modern Motor Car Practice Classic Reprint written by William Hibbert Berry and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-03 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Modern Motor Car Practice One approaches the writing of a preface of this nature with very mixed feelings. Since this work was first mooted, two years ago, many changes have taken place, and I am afraid that it has not been possible strictly to follow the lines originally laid down for the treatment of the book. During the War, of course, vast forward steps were made in scientific and technical matters. Actually, however, the motor industry and motor designs were in 1918 substantially as in 1914, because such matters as progress and economy were subordinate during the War period to steady and continued output and mechanical trustworthiness. At the same time we were justified in believing that the first year of peace would see almost revolutionary changes in design. Book Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Download or read book Electric and Hybrid Vehicles written by Iqbal Husain and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-02-22 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A thoroughly revised third edition of this widely praised, bestselling textbook presents a comprehensive systems-level perspective of electric and hybrid vehicles with emphasis on technical aspects, mathematical relationships and basic design guidelines. The emerging technologies of electric vehicles require the dedication of current and future engineers, so the target audience for the book is the young professionals and students in engineering eager to learn about the area. The book is concise and clear, its mathematics are kept to a necessary minimum and it contains a well-balanced set of contents of the complex technology. Engineers of multiple disciplines can either get a broader overview or explore in depth a particular aspect of electric or hybrid vehicles. Additions in the third edition include simulation-based design analysis of electric and hybrid vehicles and their powertrain components, particularly that of traction inverters, electric machines and motor drives. The technology trends to incorporate wide bandgap power electronics and reduced rare-earth permanent magnet electric machines in the powertrain components have been highlighted. Charging stations are a critical component for the electric vehicle infrastructure, and hence, a chapter on vehicle interactions with the power grid has been added. Autonomous driving is another emerging technology, and a chapter is included describing the autonomous driving system architecture and the hardware and software needs for such systems. The platform has been set in this book for system-level simulations to develop models using various softwares used in academia and industry, such as MATLAB®/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, Motor-CAD and Altair Flux. Examples and simulation results are provided in this edition using these software tools. The third edition is a timely revision and contribution to the field of electric vehicles that has reached recently notable markets in a more and more environmentally sensitive world.

Book A Manual of Petrol Motors and Motor Cars

Download or read book A Manual of Petrol Motors and Motor Cars written by F. Strickland and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-12-15 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Manual of Petrol Motors and Motor Cars: Comprising the Designing, Construction, and Working of Petrol Motors IN view of the constantly increasing use of motor cars, it is un necessary to make any apology for the following work, which deals with the design of petrol motors from a practical and commercial as well as a theoretical standpoint. The data on which it is based are the result of long study and practical work, and the principles of construction of the motor car and of modern high-speed internal combustion engines are thoroughly investigated. The calculations necessary for determining the sizes of the various parts of a car at a given stress, and for calculating the stresses on actual cars and comparing them with those in other machines are also given without unnecessary complications and in such a form as may easily be understood.
