Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Become a Conduit of God’s Power “I encourage you to read Joshua’s book, not only to learn about the glory but also to be changed by the glory.” —Bill Johnson “This book is boot camp for the next and greatest move of God’s Spirit in history.” —Sid Roth All Christians are intended to live, move, and operate in the supernatural realm. But many people aren’t sure how to enter into this realm—or how to go deeper in the Spirit. Joshua Mills explains that, much more than sensing what God is doing, we can participate in the supernatural on a daily basis through divine portals, or gates. In this study guide companion to his book Power Portals, Joshua clearly shows believers how they can become conduits of God’s power. Within a power portal, we may experience a sudden realization of God’s presence, an abundance of healing, spontaneous joy, signs and wonders, angelic activity, an increase in spiritual dreams and visions, or extravagant provision. Some portals can be activated in our own bodies through the heart, mouth, eyes and ears, mind, innermost being, hands, and feet. There are also direct heavenly portals and geographical portals, special places where we can experience the release of God’s power. The Power Portals Study Guide, which can be used by either individuals or groups, contains some brand-new material to further your understanding of these gateways to the Spirit realm. The guide is also filled with key points from the book, thought questions, review questions, and supernatural activations. Get ready to awaken your connection to the Spirit realm. Get ready to encounter Power Portals! “Joshua Mills…has taken deep spiritual revelation and translated it into language that any reader can understand and apply to daily life.” —Becky Thompson “Joshua Mills…gives you teachings you can trust and revelations that get you results.” —Tony Kemp #PowerPortalsBook

Download or read book No Neutral Ground written by Pete Portal and published by . This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world - often described as a kind of heaven on earth. Yet for the majority of its inhabitants it is hell. Apartheid-spawned ghettoes are everywhere, and for those living in Manenberg - a coloured township on the Cape Flats, purpose-built by the apartheid government as part of its forced removal plan - life is just as marginal today as it was during apartheid. The main differences now are the rampant drug use and widespread gang presence. No Neutral Ground is a gripping account of Pete Portal's move from London to Manenberg, of addicts and gangsters meeting Jesus and being transformed, and how he went from living with a heroin addict to establishing a church community - and all the heartbreak and failure along the way. This is a story of mighty works of God, as well as relapse, hopelessness and despair; the miraculous and the mundane, heaven and hell, all balanced on a knife edge. Offering searing insight and an inspiring vision of faith, Pete asks why anyone would choose this way of life, if giving up our lives for others is worth it - and what the church could become if we were willing to risk it all to reach the forgotten and the lost.

Book excerpt: The book should be read by everyone who is waking up, seeking truth, working of spiritual growth, self-healing, or working with others in any of these areas. This covers a lot of areas that many fear to tread but it's necessary to understand what is in order to make a different choice. Awareness is the key to unlock expansion and healing for ourselves and our planet. Well done doesn't even cover it. The most interesting thing about awakening and the most beautiful thing by far is the surrender of our sense of self - we become far less interested in what we can personally gain, or have, or get

Download or read book Life Stories written by Charlotte Linde and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 1993-07-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All adult speakers in Western cultures have life stories argues Charlotte Linde, and the ways in which these life stories are formed and exchanged with others have a powerful effect on all of us. Life stories express our sense of self, who we are and how we got that way. According to Linde, we also use these stories to show that our lives can be understood as coherent, and to assert or negotiate group membership. These life stories take part in the highest level of social constructions, since they are built on cultural assumptions about what is expected in a life, what the norms for a successful life are, and what common or special belief systems are necessary to establish coherence. The life story, illuminated by this engrossing study, is a form of everyday discourse which has not previously been precisely defined or studied. It is an oral, discontinuous unit, consisting of stories which are retold in a variety of forms over a long period of time, and which may be revised and changed as the speaker comes to drop old meanings and add new ones to parts of the life story. The life story is a particularly rich and important area for study, because it represents a crossroads of linguistic structure and social practice. Linde's analysis is of importance to linguistics, as well as having broader implications for anthropology, psychology, and sociology.

Download or read book Under The Forgotten Oak written by Charles J. Schneider and published by Fiction4All and Double Dragon Books. This book was released on 2020-08-18 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if God is not at all what people envision? Imagine a powerful energy portal that stretches from one end of the galaxy to another, the sustaining reservoir of life for Earth as well as a connected sister world where the ancient deities actually live and breathe. What if Satan is actually a renegade thread of this interplanetary gateway; and the future of two worlds, and three dimensions, rests entirely on one single human being's actions? When Lan MacCamhail unexpectedly inherits an estate and a multi-million dollar legacy overseas, he hopes this stroke of good fortune will give him the chance to make a fresh start in Ireland. The terms of the mysterious bequeathal, however, require that he must find an enigmatic amulet before he can claim his rightful inheritance. Loosely based loosely on the Celtic legend of Oisin and Niamh, Lan's saga, mirrored by his father's strangely similar story from three decades earlier, takes a sinister turn when dark forces intervene. Lan is guided in his quest by the memories of his father, the beautiful Larne attorney Sidney McVie, an ancient shape-shifter, and the spiritual guardians of another world. Conceived as a genre spanning mythological fantasy, UNDER THE FORGOTTEN OAK’s poetically-sensual and pleasingly-literary story-line will stretch the boundaries of the imagination in a creative philosophical journey that explores the concepts of love, honor, and selfless sacrifice.

Book excerpt: Understanding Narrative Inquiry: The Crafting and Analysis of Stories as Research is a comprehensive, thought-provoking introduction to narrative inquiry in the social and human sciences that guides readers through the entire narrative inquiry process—from locating narrative inquiry in the interdisciplinary context, through the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings, to narrative research design, data collection (excavating stories), data analysis and interpretation, and theorizing narrative meaning. Six extracts from exemplary studies, together with questions for discussion, are provided to show how to put theory into practice. Rich in stories from author Jeong-Hee Kim’s own research endeavors and incorporating chapter-opening vignettes that illustrate a graduate student's research dilemma, the book not only accompanies readers through the complex process of narrative inquiry with ample examples, but also helps raise their consciousness about what it means to be a qualitative researcher and a narrative inquirer in particular.
