The final chapter discusses the significance of the developments that have occurred and offers the authors' conclusions and recommendations relative to police unionism. Among other things it is suggested that policemen be allowed to form their own unions but that they be restricted to resolving labor disputes through arbitration rather than work stoppages. This work will prove helpful to police administrators, public officials, students of personnel management, and working police personnel in understanding the extent and ramifications of the police union movement.
