Download or read book Properties of Aqueous Solutions of Electrolytes written by Ivan D. Zaytsev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1992-08-24 with total page 1782 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Properties of Aqueous Solutions of Electrolytes is a handbook that systematizes the information on physico-chemical parameters of multicomponent aqueous electrolyte solutions. This important data collection will be invaluable for developing new methods for more efficient chemical technologies, choosing optimal solutions for more effective methods of using raw materials and energy resources, and other such activities. This edition, the first available in English, has been substantially revised and augmented. Many new tables have been added because of a significantly larger list of electrolytes and their properties (electrical conductivity, boiling and freezing points, pressure of saturated vapors, activity and diffusion coefficients). The book is divided into two sections. The first section provides tables that list the properties of binary aqueous solutions of electrolytes, while the second section deals with the methods for calculating their properties in multicomponent systems. All values are given in PSI units or fractional and multiple units. Metrological characteristics of the experimental methods used for the determination of physico-chemical parameters are indicated as a relative error and those of the computational methods as a relative error or a root-mean square deviation.

Download or read book Dielectric Properties of Binary Solutions written by Y. Y. Akhadov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dielectric Properties of Binary Solutions focuses on the investigation of the dielectric properties of solutions, as well as the molecular interactions and mechanisms of molecular processes that occur in liquids. The book first discusses the fundamental formulas describing the dielectric properties of liquids and dielectric data for binary systems of non-aqueous solutions. Topics include permittivity and dielectric dispersion parameters of non-aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds. The text also tackles dielectric data for binary systems of aqueous solutions, including permittivity of aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds and dielectric dispersion parameters of aqueous solutions of organic and inorganic compounds. The tables that show the measurements of static permittivity, limiting high-frequency permittivity, permittivity and dielectric loss, relaxation time, and coefficient of distribution of relaxation times are presented. The manuscript also presents dielectric data in graphical form. The book is a vital reference for readers interested in the dielectric properties of binary solutions.
Download or read book CRC Handbook of Applied Thermodynamics written by David A. Palmer and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-07-23 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This practical handbook features an overview of the importance of physical properties and thermodynamics; and the use of thermo-dynamics to predict the extent of reaction in proposed new chem-ical combinations. The use of special types of data and pre-diction methods to develop flowsheets for probing projects; and sources of critically evaluated data, dividing the published works into three categories depending on quality are given. Methods of doing one's own critical evaluation of literature, a list of known North American contract experimentalists with the types of data mea-sured by each, methods for measuring equilibrium data, and ther-modynamic concepts to carry out process opti-mization are also featured.

Download or read book Thermodynamics of Chemical Systems written by Scott Emerson Wood and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1990-03-30 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to develop the concepts and relations pertinent to the solution of many thermodynamic problems encountered in multi-phase, multi-component systems. In doing so, it emphasizes a comprehension and development of general expressions for solving such problems, rather than ready-made equations for particular applications. Throughout the book, the methods of Gibbs are used with emphasis on the chemical potential.

Download or read book Lecture Notes on Solution Chemistry written by Viktor Gutmann and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book emphasises those features in solution chemistry which are difficult to measure, but essential for the understanding of both the qualitative and the quantitative aspects. Attention is paid to the mutual influences between solute and solvent, even at extremely small concentrations of the former. The described extension of the molecular concept leads to a broad view ? not by a change in paradigm ? but by finding the rules for the organizations both at the molecular and the supermolecular level of liquid and solid solutions.
Download or read book Modern Aspects of Electrochemistry written by B. E. Conway and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the subject of electrochemistry moves into the final quarter of the century, a number of developed areas can be assessed in depth while some new areas provide quantitatively and qualitatively novel data and results. The first chapter, by Kebarle, deals with an example of the latter type of field in which new information of the energetics and equilibria of reactions between ions and solvent molecules is studied in the gas phase and provides interesting basic information for treatments of ions in solution, i.e., ionic solvation. Chapter 2, by Hamann, discusses the behavior of electrolyte solutions under high pressures, a matter of intrinsic interest in relation to ion-solvent interaction and the structural aspects of the properties of ionic solutions, especially in water. This topic is also of current interest with regard to the physical chemistry of the marine environment, especially at great depths. In the article by Bloom and Snook (Chapter 3), models for treatments of molten salt systems are examined quantitatively in relation to the structure of molten ionic liquids and to the statistical mechanical approaches that can be meaningfully made to interpret their properties and electrochemical behavior.
