Radical constructivism is a theory of knowing that provides a pragmatic approach to questions about reality, truth, language and human understanding. Appearances deceive, however, for the antecedents of this growing field of work can be found in the classic philosophical treatises of western and non-western thinkers including Plato, Sextus Empiricus and Laozi, reaching forward through the theolinguistic tradition of St Augustine, Boethius, Averroës and Ockham before arriving at the modern age. Following Wittgenstein's linguistic turn and Husserl's phenomenology in the early decades of the twentieth century, we arrive at the fertile plains of semiotics, information theory, pragmatics and dialogism out of which communication theory has grown. And yet an unresolved and historically non-coincidental tension remains between the implicit transcendental claims of much of communication theory and our experiences of risk, uncertainty and dissolution in what Zygmunt Bauman has described as our 'liquid age'. As communication theory matures, it is an opportune moment to reflect on what form a detranscendentalised theory of communication might take. In bringing intentions, understandings, meanings and interactions down to earth this book invites its readers to account for the complex communications between communications, actors and social processes without recourse to transcendental theories of understanding.

It moves into a new theory of holographic, granular politics through technologically assisted anarchism and uses transhumanism as a means to move past the isolation and terror of existentialism towards courage in the face of ignorance and death. In that it examines such a wide range of categories rather than specializing in one category, it is holistic. Despite this claim the work itself is written in a natural language using logic, reason and evidence as its tools of choice.This author tries to use a minimal amount of philosophical jargon. When he does use jargon they are terms which can't be escaped due to the history of philosophy or the nature of the work. Where he creates its own terms he tries to be as simple as possible. The term of the title may be the most complex term in the whole text. "If you feel as I do: that the world needs to change, but none of the ideas currently in play are satisfactory; and that there is something great missing from our understanding of how to move forward safely into a singularity; then this book is for you. I authored this in the pursuit of the right, the truth and the good. It is honest self-expression. I purposefully avoided exploitative writing styles. I did not want to manipulate you. I express myself through this, to achieve my aim - a fresh work of holistic philosophy for the digital era."

Our intellectual and social-political life would be much better without post-modern doctrine and with a more rational, emotionally satisfying philosophy of being and becoming. Centore's work is certain to prove controversial, but deserves to be given careful attention by anyone seriously interested in understanding the contemporary world.
