And 652 A. D. When the second Persian Empire flourished Roman armies were continually invading the country. Although this period included the great literary days of Rome and the zenith of Roman philosophy under the Antonines, we do not find many traces of Roman influence on Persian philosophy. One notable event however was perhaps attributable to Roman influence, and that is that the Persian Emperor Sapor II proscribed Christianity throughout his Empire in the year 326 A. D.
