Book The Beta Male Revolution

Download or read book The Beta Male Revolution written by Alan Roger Currie and published by Alan Roger Currie. This book was released on 2016-06-01 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Beta Male Revolution is for men in the 21st Century what Feminism was for women in the 1960s and 1970s" says Author and Professional Dating Coach Alan Roger Currie in his latest book. Most men don't want to remain 'just friends' with women. Men want either sex only from women, or a combination of sexual companionship and non-sexual companionship. Unlike men, women have as many as FOUR types of men they want to spend time with: - Men who women only want to spend time with for sexual enjoyment and satisfaction: These are 'Total Alpha males' - Men who women only want to spend time with for a combination of sexual companionship and non-sexual companionship. These are 'Alpha males with a few Beta traits and tendencies' - Men who women want to spend time with primarily for the benefit of entertaining conversation, enjoyable social companionship, and financial assistance and support. These are 'Beta males with a few Alpha traits and tendencies' - Men who women only want to spend time with for strictly platonic friendship, flattery, and to have men provide them with an 'empathetic listening ear' when they are feeling bored, frustrated, or depressed. These are 'Total Beta males' Many women socially interact exclusively with Alpha male types between the ages of 18 and 29, and then begin looking for a nice, sweet, polite, monogamy-oriented Beta male type for marriage once they reach the age of 30. Well, the Beta male types are tired of this routine, and they are now avoiding proposing to marriage to women who they perceive as "Alpha male leftovers." Beta males are now well aware that the vast majority of women want to spend time with Alpha males for sexual enjoyment and satisfaction. They are also well aware that most women want to spend time with Beta males for platonic friendship, financial favors, and entertaining conversation. The Beta Male Revolution is a brutally honest assessment of where we as a society have been, where we are now, and where we are headed regarding the state of dating, long-term romantic relationships, marriage, and monogamy vs. promiscuity vs. polyamory. Women can also learn from this book because Currie explains just why men pursue some women for short-term non-monogamous 'casual' sex only, while they pursue other totally different women for long-term romantic relationships and marriage. Purchase this book right now and be educated and enlightened. You are guaranteed to have a better understanding of the manner in which the mind of the opposite sex works, and why men and women gravitate toward the type of romantic companions and sexual companions that they do after reading this book. This book will be talked about for years to come.

Book Radical Feminism Today

Download or read book Radical Feminism Today written by Denise Thompson and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2001-06-01 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Radical Feminism Today offers a timely and engaging account of exactly what feminism is, and what it is not. Author Denise Thompson questions much of what has come to be taken for granted as `feminism' and points to the limitations of implicitly defining feminism in terms of `women', `gender', `difference' or `race//gender//class'. She challenges some of the most widely accepted ideas about feminism and in doing so opens up a number of hitheto closed debates, allowing for the possibility of moving those debates further.

Book Shut Your Mouth

Download or read book Shut Your Mouth written by George Catlin and published by . This book was released on 1869 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: George Catlin discusses how closing one's mouth during sleep and day to day will foster improvement in mental and physical condition. This edition contains all of the original illustrations the author made. Walking among and studying various Native American tribes in the 19th century, the author noticed that many of the elders possessed a serene and well-preserved appearance. The young members of the tribe seemed especially healthy, with an innate resistance to certain illnesses and congenital conditions. Seeing the tribe's members sleeping, he noted that they all did so with closed mouths. Catlin pondered whether this habit contributed to the physical vigor of the people, and investigated further. After venturing back to the towns of the Midwest, he attests to witnessing how terrible many people who had practiced mouth breathing throughout life appeared, and became deeply opposed to its practice. This book details how children and young people can be encouraged against mouth breathing, and notes how different the facial countenance appears between mouth breathing people and nose breathers. Today, the notion that mouth breathing promotes physical ugliness or decrepitude is wholly disavowed as an eccentric idea with no basis in fact. However, sleep researchers have demonstrated that breathing with the mouth open while asleep can result in more snoring and thus a lower quality of sleep and therefore health. Overall, one could venture that Catlin's ideas possess a certain merit, even if his book is an exaggeration. Although primarily known today as a painter and traveller who became an emissary of sorts to the Plains tribes, George Catlin was also an enthusiastic if occasional writer. He admired the Native American peoples for their traditions and distinctive appearance, and took to painting them - his marked talent led to their respect for his gifts, and they duly welcomed him with friendship.

Book Democracy and Education

Download or read book Democracy and Education written by John Dewey and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 1916 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: . Renewal of Life by Transmission. The most notable distinction between living and inanimate things is that the former maintain themselves by renewal. A stone when struck resists. If its resistance is greater than the force of the blow struck, it remains outwardly unchanged. Otherwise, it is shattered into smaller bits. Never does the stone attempt to react in such a way that it may maintain itself against the blow, much less so as to render the blow a contributing factor to its own continued action. While the living thing may easily be crushed by superior force, it none the less tries to turn the energies which act upon it into means of its own further existence. If it cannot do so, it does not just split into smaller pieces (at least in the higher forms of life), but loses its identity as a living thing. As long as it endures, it struggles to use surrounding energies in its own behalf. It uses light, air, moisture, and the material of soil. To say that it uses them is to say that it turns them into means of its own conservation. As long as it is growing, the energy it expends in thus turning the environment to account is more than compensated for by the return it gets: it grows. Understanding the word "control" in this sense, it may be said that a living being is one that subjugates and controls for its own continued activity the energies that would otherwise use it up. Life is a self-renewing process through action upon the environment.

Download or read book Paradoxes of Gender written by Judith Lorber and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 1994-01-01 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this pathbreaking book, a well-known feminist and sociologist--who is also the Founding Editor of Gender & Society--challenges our most basic assumptions about gender. Judith Lorber views gender as wholly a product of socialization subject to human agency, organization, and interpretation. In her new paradigm, gender is an institution comparable to the economy, the family, and religion in its significance and consequences. Drawing on many schools of feminist scholarship and on research from anthropology, history, sociology, social psychology, sociolinguistics, and cultural studies, Lorber explores different paradoxes of gender: --why we speak of only two "opposite sexes" when there is such a variety of sexual behaviors and relationships; --why transvestites, transsexuals, and hermaphrodites do not affect the conceptualization of two genders and two sexes in Western societies; --why most of our cultural images of women are the way men see them and not the way women see themselves; --why all women in modern society are expected to have children and be the primary caretaker; --why domestic work is almost always the sole responsibility of wives, even when they earn more than half the family income; --why there are so few women in positions of authority, when women can be found in substantial numbers in many occupations and professions; --why women have not benefited from major social revolutions. Lorber argues that the whole point of the gender system today is to maintain structured gender inequality--to produce a subordinate class (women) that can be exploited as workers, sexual partners, childbearers, and emotional nurturers. Calling into question the inevitability and necessity of gender, she envisions a society structured for equality, where no gender, racial ethnic, or social class group is allowed to monopolize economic, educational, and cultural resources or the positions of power.

Book The Secret of Our Success

Download or read book The Secret of Our Success written by Joseph Henrich and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2017-10-17 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How our collective intelligence has helped us to evolve and prosper Humans are a puzzling species. On the one hand, we struggle to survive on our own in the wild, often failing to overcome even basic challenges, like obtaining food, building shelters, or avoiding predators. On the other hand, human groups have produced ingenious technologies, sophisticated languages, and complex institutions that have permitted us to successfully expand into a vast range of diverse environments. What has enabled us to dominate the globe, more than any other species, while remaining virtually helpless as lone individuals? This book shows that the secret of our success lies not in our innate intelligence, but in our collective brains—on the ability of human groups to socially interconnect and learn from one another over generations. Drawing insights from lost European explorers, clever chimpanzees, mobile hunter-gatherers, neuroscientific findings, ancient bones, and the human genome, Joseph Henrich demonstrates how our collective brains have propelled our species' genetic evolution and shaped our biology. Our early capacities for learning from others produced many cultural innovations, such as fire, cooking, water containers, plant knowledge, and projectile weapons, which in turn drove the expansion of our brains and altered our physiology, anatomy, and psychology in crucial ways. Later on, some collective brains generated and recombined powerful concepts, such as the lever, wheel, screw, and writing, while also creating the institutions that continue to alter our motivations and perceptions. Henrich shows how our genetics and biology are inextricably interwoven with cultural evolution, and how culture-gene interactions launched our species on an extraordinary evolutionary trajectory. Tracking clues from our ancient past to the present, The Secret of Our Success explores how the evolution of both our cultural and social natures produce a collective intelligence that explains both our species' immense success and the origins of human uniqueness.

Book The Mindful Attraction Plan

Download or read book The Mindful Attraction Plan written by Athol Kay and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2013-07-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mindful Attraction Plan is a seven-phase process to change you for the better, in order to leverage your critical issue to resolve the way you want it to. Most threats of ending relationships in hope of change, fail because of extremely poor timing. The MAP covers the pacing of the escalation toward the Resolution Point. Most serious attempts to change things happen in the heat of the moment, which is typically a negative emotion blowout and ineffective. The MAP keeps things calm and steady in the hope that your partner starts acting like a reasonable person and the relationship can start turning positive. The first part of the book is a very clear description of exactly how you become more attractive as fast as possible. Covering six areas of development you need to focus on: (1) Physical Fitness and Health (2) Money and Material Possessions (3) Displays of High Value (4) Building Relationship Comfort (5) Personality and Preferences (6) High-Energy Sex. Within each area there's a traffic light color coded system for things you need to do. Red = Draining Energy = Stop It Yellow = Stagnant Energy = Fix It Green = Flowing Energy = Do It. There's no confusion about what you should be doing to improve your attractiveness and I even cover the exact order of importance your addressing things needs to follow. The (1) to (6) order is very important for example. The second part of the book covers the seven phase approach to taking your new attraction and leveraging that into getting what you want from your relationships. life. "This is the pure, original meaning of the Law of Attraction, far away from fad books like "The Secret". The Mindful Attraction Plan is a very neat packaging of wisdom from a number of different sources, and that's exactly what makes it stand out. It's simple, easy-to-use and more importantly, it just plain works. " -Brian C Rideout "The Wild Man Project"

Book The Philosophy of Social Ecology

Download or read book The Philosophy of Social Ecology written by Murray Bookchin and published by AK Press. This book was released on 2022-04-19 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is nature? What is humanity's place in nature? And what is the relationship of society to the natural world? In an era of ecological breakdown, answering these questions has become of momentous importance for our everyday lives and for the future that we and other life-forms face. In the essays of The Philosophy of Social Ecology, Murray Bookchin confronts these questions head on: invoking the ideas of mutualism, self-organization, and unity in diversity, in the service of ever expanding freedom. Refreshingly polemical and deeply philosophical, they take issue with technocratic and mechanistic ways of understanding and relating to, and within, nature. More importantly, they develop a solid, historically and politically based ethical foundation for social ecology, the field that Bookchin himself created and that offers us hope in the midst of our climate catastrophe.
