Book excerpt: Excerpt from The One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Granting of the Charter of the Town of Plymouth, New Hampshire, July 15, 1763: July 13-14-15, 1913 While some may have had an intuition that the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the granting of the Plymouth charter might be appropriately celebrated, the idea did not begin to take on any semblance of life until the warrant for the annual March meeting in 1912 was posted. Article No. 20 read as follows: - "To see what action the town will take in regard to celebrating the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the granting of its charter." It was voted as follows: - Resolved, "That a committee of five be appointed by the Selectmen during the month of April, 1912, to consist of three men and two women; committee is to report to the citizens of this town through the Plymouth Record in February, 1913, to prepare and cause the necessary articles to be inserted in the next annual town meeting warrant, so that action upon the subject can be taken at that time."
