Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: (Ecc. 1:9) The thing that has been it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be; and there is no new thing under the sun. History constantly repeats itself, thereby becoming the pathway into the future. The things that have passed shall pass by again. (Lk. 21:28) Prophecy is written as both a warning and as a preparation. Mankind does not learn the hard lessons from repetitive history. (Mt. 24:48) All these things that the world is currently witnessing are the beginning of birth pains, indicating that birth is imminent. (2 Thess. 2:78) The revelation of the Mystery of Iniquity is soon to come. The Greek word for iniquity is anomia, which can be translated as illegality, violation of the law, or lawlessness. Iniquity, or lawlessness, was already at work during Pauls day, is presently at work in our day, and will be manifested in its fullness, one future day. The Mystery of Iniquity is in reference to the wicked one yet to come, who will be empowered, controlled, and inhabited by Satan. (Rev. 13:2). This is the totality of evil expressed and revealed through the union of one man with one demonic spirit. (Mt. 24:12) Because iniquity abounds, the love of many will grow cold and calloused, as the end time draws near, causing a massive increase in violence, brutality, murder, and hatred.

Book A Christian Perspective of Postmodern Existentialism

Download or read book A Christian Perspective of Postmodern Existentialism written by John D. Carter and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Western Humanism originating in classical Greek philosophy—where the capacity of human reason became the dominant means for perceiving a worldview based in reality—reigned in Western philosophy until the onset of Postmodern Existentialism in the mid-twentieth century. Plato’s Theory of Forms prepared the Western gentile mind to accept the rationality of a transcendent ultimate reality, and in so doing steered the gentile mind from its bent to pantheistic deities. The apostle Paul boldly proclaimed to the Athenians that their “unknown god” was indeed the transcendent God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Christianity prevailed in Western philosophy until the Enlightenment—which was the result of the unprecedented success of the scientific method—began to turn the Western mind to the existentialistic idea of the relativity of moral truth.

Book Lawlessness the Left and the Antichrist

Download or read book Lawlessness the Left and the Antichrist written by David Canfield and published by . This book was released on 2021-06-06 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. -- 2 Thessalonians 2:7 France, by the revolution of 1789, began to spread the principles of that anarchy out of which Antichrist will arise. -- G.H. Pember According to the Bible, human government upon the earth will consummate in the reign of the Antichrist, who will be "the man of lawlessness" (2 Thess. 2:3). Even today the way is being prepared for this evil leader, by means of "the mystery of lawlessness," which is "already at work" to corrupt society (2 Thess. 2:7). This book considers the root causes of this corruption, and God''s response. FROM THE PREFACE So much of the spiritual struggle today is being played out in the political realm. To summarize what we will cover in this volume, at the very beginning of the Bible, in Genesis 1-11, we see the principles God laid down for the existence of a healthy society on the earth. These include a belief in God and His word; recognizing that God created mankind in a special way; that He created him "male and female," and others as well. We shall refer to these principles as the "Basic Laws." Within Western Civilization these Basic Laws have, at Satan''s instigation, been under assault by the Left ever since the French Enlightenment and French Revolution of the 1800s. This truly is a rebellion against God. In fact, it is the "apostasy" the Apostle Paul warned us of almost 2,000 years ago, which is now creating the conditions of lawlessness and anarchy in society that will prepare the way for the coming of the Antichrist (2 Thess. 2:3). Again, no Christian should have anything to do with that. FROM THE INTRODUCTION The Left in America today traces its ideological origins, not to the American Revolution, but to the French Revolution, and to the French Enlightenment that was the catalyst for that epochal event. In particular, its worldview is based upon the rejection of the Bible as the revealed word of God, and of the biblical norms for guiding society, that was promulgated during the French Enlightenment. The result of such a rejection is, necessarily, lawlessness, and so the wide acceptance in America of such an ideology has produced much of the chaos we currently see erupting in our society. Furthermore, this same principle of lawlessness is now working throughout the world to prepare the way for the coming of the Antichrist. __________________________ CONTENTS * Preface * Introduction Part One: The Kings of the Earth Take their Stand 1 What Is Lawlessness? 2 The Law Within: Our God-Created Nature 3 The Law Without: Three Classes of People 4 The Basic Laws 5 The Mystery of Lawlessness 6 The Apostasy Begins: The Enlightenment 7 The Enlightenment View of Man 8 The Fall, All Over Again 9 The Apostasy Breaks Out: The French Revolution 10 A Different Revolution 11 A Different Witness 12 The Fulfillment of a Great Prophecy 13 Denying Christ, Replacing God 14 The One Who Will Change the Laws 15 The Spirit of Leftism 16 The Left and the Basic Laws Part Two: He Who Sits in the Heavens 17 Warnings from the Bible 18 Where Will America Be? 19 Where Will You Be? 20 God''s Response: Establishing His Kingdom Epilogue Part Three: Appendices * Giving Thanks to God * Three Levels of Ruling * The Days of Our Lives * Some Thoughts on the Bible * A Prayer for Our Time * "As Commander of the Army of the Lord I Have Now Come" End Matter * Scripture Index * Works Cited * End Notes * Note Pages

Book The Global Impact of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion

Download or read book The Global Impact of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion written by Esther Webman and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-03-29 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion has attracted the interest of politicians and academicians, and generated extensive research, since the tract first appeared in the early twentieth century. Despite having repeatedly been discredited as a historical document, and in spite of the fact that it served as an inspiration for Hitler’s antisemitism and the Holocaust, it continues, even in our time, to be influential. Exploring the Protocols’ successful dissemination and impact around the world, this volume attempts to understand their continuing popularity, one hundred years after their first appearance, in so many diverse societies and cultures. With contributions from leading scholars in the field, the book covers themes such as: Why have the Protocols survived to the present day and what are the sources from which they draw their strength? What significance do the Protocols have today in mainstream worldviews? Are they gaining in importance? Are they still today a warrant for genocide or merely a reflection of xenophobic nationalism? Can they be fought by logical argumentation? This comprehensive volume which, for the first time, dwells also on the attraction of the Protocols in Arab and Muslim countries, will be of interest to specialists, teachers, and students working in the fields of antisemitism, the far right, Jewish studies, and modern history.

Book 1 2 Thessalonians 1 2 Timothy Titus Philemon

Download or read book 1 2 Thessalonians 1 2 Timothy Titus Philemon written by Lee Gatiss and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2019-11-26 with total page 492 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." (1 Thess 4:14). The epistles of the New Testament provide unparalleled insight into the realities of the life of the early church, guidance for those called to lead the church, and comfort in the face of pressing theological questions. Among those letters are 1 and 2 Thessalonians, which address questions about the expected return of Christ, the pastoral epistles of 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus, written to two of Paul's coworkers who were overseeing early churches, and Philemon, which concerns the relationship between a slave and his master. The Protestant Reformers of the sixteenth century also found wisdom and guidance in these letters. For example, Martin Luther reminded the Christians of his day that Paul had encouraged believers "not to sorrow over the dead as others who have no hope, but to comfort each other with God's Word as having a certain hope of life and of the resurrection of the dead." In this volume of the Reformation Commentary on Scripture, Lee Gatiss and Bradley Green guide readers through a diversity of early modern commentary on the epistles of 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. Readers will hear from familiar voices and discover lesser-known figures from a variety of theological traditions, including Lutherans, Reformed, Radicals, Anglicans, and Roman Catholics. Drawing upon a variety of resources—including commentaries, sermons, treatises, and confessions—much of which appears here for the first time in English, this volume provides resources for contemporary preachers, enables scholars to better understand the depth and breadth of Reformation commentary, and seeks to bring guidance and comfort in the midst of today's challenges.

Book Confronting the Mystery of God

Download or read book Confronting the Mystery of God written by Gaspar Martinez and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2002-05-13 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A highly insightful study of three major movements in Roman Catholic theology over the past thirty years. This fascinating work of theological scholarship offers an exceptionally broad scope and powerfully unifying theme. Gaspar Martinez first offers penetrating interpretations of three major contemporary theologians working on three continents, in quite dissimilar historical, cultural, social, and economic situations. Then he goes on to illustrate how Johannes Metz, Gustavo GutiTrrez, and David Tracy each had a tensive ongoing relationship to the mid-twentieth century theologians and movements that formed them-Karl Rahner, nouvelle theologie, and Bernard Lonergan, respectively. Martinez brilliantly contextualizes each of these thinkers. In broad strokes, he sketches postwar Germany, postcolonial Peru, and the American century and shows how each man was formed by his era. He also examines the lines of influence and relationship between these theologians and some of their nontheological contemporaries: Metz and Adorno, Bloch, and Benjamin; GutiTrrez and Paulo Freire, JosT Carlos Mariategui, and the novelist JosT Marfa Arguedas; and Tracy and thinkers from Eliade and Ricoeur to Gadamer and Derrida.Martinez convincingly illustrates how each of these theologians in recent years has focused more directly on the mystery of God, entailing greater emphasis on spirituality and mysticism, with the consequence that the more properly theological their theologies have become the more they have become negative theologies.

Book The Early Eastern Orthodox Church

Download or read book The Early Eastern Orthodox Church written by Stephen Morris and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2018-09-24 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us,” the apostles declared at the conclusion of their council described in Acts 15. This apostolic council was the first of many councils to come as Christians sought to discern the will of God in the midst of historic challenges. The faithful continued to struggle to express their new apostolic faith in new words, new languages, new places and new times. Many issues—the interaction of science and faith, divinity and humanity, Church and State—continue to be pertinent today. This book tells the story of these struggles from the days of the New Testament to the fall of the city of Constantinople in AD 1453. It focuses on the Christian community in the eastern Mediterranean which became known as the Byzantine Empire. Each chapter examines the personalities and theologies entwined at the heart of conflicts that shaped the medieval world as well as the modern cultures of Greece, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Book excerpt: Dark Freedom reveals the unseen forces behind the demoralization of western culture. Exploring three thousand years of Western World History, Christian philosopher C.W. Steinle exposes the destabilizing errors of philosophy and religion that have slowly but surely led the world into darkness. Chapter by chapter the strongholds of ancient and modern Humanism crumble beneath the weight of honest evidence and sound logic. Each area of history and philosophy is developed so the reader can easily grasp their contribution to the overall progress of lawlessness. Christians are obsessed with identifying the Son of Perdition instead of recognizing the real and present danger - the spiritual forces of darkness that are already working against the Church to prepare the way for the Lawless One.Dark Freedom answers the deepest questions of our day: How did the Judeo-Christian principles which have guided the western world for the last two millennia yield to an existential philosophy that mocks the God of the Bible, His laws, and His people? How should the Church respond to the Liberalism and Individualism of the Enlightenment? Are the principles of authority and submission antiquated and barbaric? How does God's law operate in the age of grace?Part I explores what the Apostle Paul meant by calling lawlessness a mystery. The second chapter introduces some of the devil's most effective spiritual programs for undermining the Christian faith. The third chapter exposes these strongholds of darkness with the light of the God's Word. Part I concludes with an introduction to the wisdom of man expressed by the Classical Greek philosophers.Part II looks into the Institutional Church and its failures, which were sufficient to open the door to honest criticism, spawning the Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment. Each chapter of Part III increases the reader's insight producing stunning and unforgettable epiphanies.Part IV brings the knowledge gleaned from all the previous chapters to a laser-sharp focus. Part V entertains some of the more plausible conspiracy theories concerning the organizations which might be employed by Satan to prepare the way for the Man of Sin.
