This book was released on 2021-05-13 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are we on the brink of a theological war between Conservative Protestant Christianity and the new Charismatic Protestant Christian movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation, (NAR)? Are they as demonic as some well known pastors say? A very debated question. This is a book that must be read by every ex-Catholic that perhaps has second thoughts. Reading this book is assurance the decision was right. And let us not forget those Prosperity preachers who constantly ask for money. This book exposes them even to their very core beliefs which are shocking and unbelievable.

Book The roman Catholic Church Cult Vs Spirit Led Catholicism

Download or read book The roman Catholic Church Cult Vs Spirit Led Catholicism written by Francis C Pompei and published by . This book was released on 2021-03-12 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex abuse, pedophilia, cover-ups, corruption in the hierarchy, several Popes having illegitimate children, Bishops and Priests guilty of sex abuse of adults, rampant homosexual orgies in Vatican City, schisms, crusades, inquisitions, corrupt banking practices, and the horrific suffering caused throughout history and present day, are the result of Powers, Principalities, and Spirits from the kingdom of darkness that have entered and infected the 'Roman' Catholic Church. The underlying issue is that the Evil that has infected the 'Roman' Catholic Church is the same Evil that affects governments and all religions and institutions when unbridled power is appropriated in the hands of one or a few, instead of from, by, and of God. Evil has enslaved human nature to Power, Money, Sex, and Hedonism This book is not an attack on the Catholic Church, but to expose the systemic Evil that has infected the Catholic Church for centuries because of the 'Roman' empire's influence. It is also an invitation to reform by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and 'What to do' in the meantime for the faithful as part of the 'Remnant' promised by Jesus for the end times. Jesus gave us the answer and the way through the whole mess, and that is the Holy Spirit. Who then is the Holy Spirit and how do we experience the Spirit's unconditional love, wisdom, guidance, and power? "The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you ALL things and will remind you of everything I have told you." (John 14:26) THE 'ROMAN' CATHOLIC CHURCH: Like all humans, as the Church grew, it was tempted by Original Sin to appropriate power and authority to itself, to be like God and the sole dispensers of the divine. - Whether knowing it or not the Roman Empire imposed their political and government structure on Christianity, placing the Holy Spirit under the umbrella of the Church. - Gradually, Christianity became more political to appease both the spiritual and political needs of the people. This kind of reasoning opened the door for Evil, as it did in the Garden of Eden, for authority, power, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to only be in the hands of men who occupied appointed offices. Only a bishop could discern the Holy Spirit. Only a priest could anoint and preside at Eucharist and hear Confessions. Only deacons and priests could preach, perform marriages, and bless. Now the gifts of the Holy Spirit were no longer given to whomever the Spirit chose, but only to these who held the government appointed offices- the pope, local bishops, pastors, and local clergy. - THE RESULT: Leadership and Clergy In the 'Roman' Church had the office and authority, but many lacked the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Carroll assembles a great deal of historical information that until now has been widely scattered in obscure publications. He suggests why such devotions are absent from the Protestant tradition and argues for a new and more subtle appreciation of the role that Italian Catholicism played in shaping Catholicism generally.

Book Errand Into the Wilderness of Mirrors

Download or read book Errand Into the Wilderness of Mirrors written by Michael Graziano and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2023-08-04 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reveals the previous underexplored influence of religious thought in building the foundations of the CIA. Michael Graziano’s intriguing book fuses two landmark titles in American history: Perry Miller’s Errand into the Wilderness (1956), about the religious worldview of the early Massachusetts colonists, and David Martin’s Wilderness of Mirrors (1980), about the dangers and delusions inherent to the Central Intelligence Agency. Fittingly, Errand into the Wilderness of Mirrors investigates the dangers and delusions that ensued from the religious worldview of the early molders of the Central Intelligence Agency. Graziano argues that the religious approach to intelligence by key OSS and CIA figures like “Wild” Bill Donovan and Edward Lansdale was an essential, and overlooked, factor in establishing the agency’s concerns, methods, and understandings of the world. In a practical sense, this was because the Roman Catholic Church already had global networks of people and safe places that American agents could use to their advantage. But more tellingly, Graziano shows, American intelligence officers were overly inclined to view powerful religions and religious figures through the frameworks of Catholicism. As Graziano makes clear, these misconceptions often led to tragedy and disaster on an international scale. By braiding the development of the modern intelligence agency with the story of postwar American religion, Errand into the Wilderness of Mirrors delivers a provocative new look at a secret driver of one of the major engines of American power.

Book Catholicism in the Third Millennium

Download or read book Catholicism in the Third Millennium written by Thomas P. Rausch and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2016-03-24 with total page 443 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is Catholicism? And where is the Catholic Church headed in the third millennium? These two questions provide the structure for Thomas Rausch's Catholicism in the Third Millennium. Here Rausch combines a faithful presentation of the tradition with a critical theological reflection and interpretation of where the Church is today and where it might be moving. Catholicism in the Third Millennium offers an appreciation of the forces and movements that have shaped, and continue to influence, the ongoing change and development of Roman Catholicism. Chief among these is the influence of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) in reshaping Catholicism. This revised edition includes updated text from Rausch's Catholicism at the Dawn of the Third Millennium particularly the final chapter on "The Unfinished Agenda" of Vatican II. Each chapter concludes with focus questions developed by Catherine E. Clifford of St. Paul's University, Ottawa. This experience of guided reading provides readers with a broad survey of Roman Catholic faith and practice in its contemporary context. For readers who wish to compare particular passages of this volume with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, an outline is provided in an appendix, with references to the appropriate sections of the Catechism. A second appendix offers a glossary of terms used in the book, while a third appendix lists a number of basic works for further investigation of Catholic faith and life. Chapters are "The Church and the Council," "Faith and the Believing Community," "A Visible Church," "A Living Tradition," "Sacraments and Christian nitiation," "Christian Life and Discipleship," "Sin, Forgiveness, and Healing," "Sexual Morality and Social Justice," "Prayer and Spirituality," "The Fullness of Christian Hope," and "The Unfinished Agenda." Includes Appendix I: Outlook of Book, with References to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Appendix II: Glossary of Terms, and Appendix III: Basic Reference Works on Catholicism. An Index of Names, and an Index of Subjects are also included. Thomas P. Rausch, SJ, PhD, is professor of theology at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is the author of Catholicism at the Dawn of the Third Millennium, Reconciling Faith and Reason, and editor of the bestselling The College Student's Introduction to Theology published by Liturgical Press. Catherine E. Clifford, PhD, is a professor of theology at St. Paul's University in Ottawa, Ontario.
