Book The Ministry of Law Enforcement

Download or read book The Ministry of Law Enforcement written by David Wlazlak and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2011-11-13 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book the reader will discover the many connections between Christian ministry and law enforcement service. These 25 chapters contain a deep theological study into Romans Chapter 13:1-7; by explaining the purposes and connections between biblical and governmental jurisprudence. The book reveals truths regarding God's purpose in allowing government officals to rule the masses. It explains God's desire for His Chruch and the State, and how they complement each other when they do not overstep their boundaries. The question, "How and Why, has God commissioned His will to be conducted through Christians who work in government?" will be explained from a biblically historical view, complemented by plentifully and pragmatic examples. The LEO will know, after reading this book, why he or she truly exists; and how much Godly backing they have to suppress anarchy within their jurisdictional lines.

Download or read book Law Enforcement in a New Century and a Changing World Improving the Administration of Federal Law Enforcement Report of the Commission on the Advancement of Federal Law Enforcement written by and published by Government Printing Office. This book was released on with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global crime, cybercrime and terrorism in new and evermore dangerous form will threaten the safety of Americans and the security of the United States in the next century. Globalized crime knows no borders; it can undermine business competition, corrode enemies, and destabilize political systems. Cybercrime can assault any country’s physical and information infrastructure. Terrorists can kill and destroy for maximum effect. In addition, increasingly sophisticated drug trafficking uses advanced information and telecommunications technologies to import and distribute illegal drugs without detection. For the first time in recent history, a Congressional Commission has set out to study the integration of widely disparate and often conflicting issues to strengthen the law enforcement fabric of the Federal Government while protecting democracy and the rights and liberties of individual citizens. The Commission saw its role as calling the Nation’s attention to the broadest concerns in national and international law enforcement. It also urges the Nation and its Federal law enforcement establishment to break down the barriers of institutional thinking and find new ways to approach the challenges of crime in the new century. Over its 2-year tenure, the Commission met more than 20 times and took verbal and sometimes written testimony from some 70 witnesses, including two members of President Clinton’s Cabinet and numerous presidential appointees. They identified that reforms are needed in six major areas: 1) To combat global crime, cybercrime, and terrorism; 2) Make it clear that the Attorney General has broad coordinating authority for Federal law enforcement, and minimize overlap and duplication 3) Provide the intelligence and information needed to combat terrorism; 4) Make global crime a national law enforcement priority; 5) Reverse the trend toward federalization; and 6)Focus on professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thoroughly revised and rewritten, this new second edition serves as a comprehensive first step for law enforcement departments seeking a police chaplain as well as a useful resource for the experienced police chaplain. This text is a manual of procedures, concepts, guidelines, and forms that are presented in plain, clear language, yet with substantial depth of knowledge. Major topics include how to get started as a Chaplain; how to relate to law enforcement department people; theological foundations; confidentiality; crisis intervention and counseling; death notifications; disasters; domestic disputes; officer deaths and funerals; addicted officers; hostage negotiations; and victim assistance. In addition, the Appendices offer resources for services; the Chaplain's Code of Ethics; a model for starting a chaplaincy program; requirements to be a chaplain; the Chaplain's Oath; plus where and how to receive chaplain training. All of the above features serve to fulfill the central purpose of the book: to enable law enforcement administrators to establish a program for chaplaincy, and, for experienced chaplains, to find new ideas to add to what they are doing. This book will also help parish clergy and leaders understand the role of law enforcement chaplaincy within a community. - Publisher.

Book DEVOTIONS AND PRAYERS FOR POLICE OFFICERS

Download or read book DEVOTIONS AND PRAYERS FOR POLICE OFFICERS written by Steven J. Voris and published by Charles C Thomas Publisher. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This expanded and updated third edition continues to be an important reference volume and tool to survival in a law enforcement career. The book is designed to be used with the Bible and will help law enforcement officers consciously take the pulse of their soul, ensuring that they stay on a strong spiritual and moral path. Each devotion included in the book examines a particular passage of scripture from the perspective of law enforcement. Often the primary meaning of the passage is not discussed in detail. Rather, the law enforcement angle of the passage is explored. Keeping physically fit and achieving expert law enforcement skills, along with maintaining a strong heart, mind, and soul, are essential ingredients to being a successful police officer and crucial to his/her survival. The book is not just a collection of devotions with religious meanings; rather, it clearly identifies some of the most trying situations that officers often find themselves in, the ones that challenge the soul the most, and helps them make sense of it all. The author links these situations with relevant biblical passages. Each devotion in the book is freestanding and can be used in any order. The devotions are arranged in several categories: Justice, Dealing with People, Crime and Police Situations, Prevention, Self-care, and Devotions for Law Enforcement Chaplains. Each of the 81 devotions conclude with questions for reflection and a meaningful prayer. These address a wide variety of ceremonial functions, including cadet graduations, retirements, blessings for substations, award banquets, and fire department events. This new edition includes four additional devotions for law enforcement, eight new devotions for law enforcement chaplains, and four prayers for ceremonial functions. This book will be essential reading for police officers, firefighters, law enforcement supervisors, community service officers, chaplains, and ministers.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a follow up to the bestselling Killing Kebble: An Underworld Exposed (2010), the new book from Mandy Wiener, Ministry of Crime: An Underworld Explored, examines how organised crime, gangsters and powerful political figures have been able to capture the law enforcement authorities and agencies. These various organisations have been eviscerated, hollowed out and left ineffective. They have been infiltrated and compromised and, as a result, prominent underworld figures have been able to flourish in South Africa, setting up elaborate networks of crime with the assistance of many cops. The criminal justice system has been left exposed and it is crucial that the South African public knows about the capture that has occurred on different levels.
