Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of Islam as the faith of God has been buried and lost to antiquity, but the message in the Quran has been gaining renewed visibility as both a very negative and as a positive influence. In spite of its growing visibility, there are baffling issues, as with all religions, whether the individual, in reality, adheres to the tenets of the Quran and the Faith. There is clearly a phenomenal misunderstanding prevalent about Islam and the Quran. The author undertook a serious study of the Quran over several years and dispassionately stresses the importance and relevance of the text to contemporary times where heated arguments persist as to which is the 'better/true religion. The author presents direct quotes from the Quran and provides explanations thereof based on textual commentaries and her personal understanding with the sincere hope that those who are interested in knowing the basic facts in the Quran get a clearer understanding of this preserved word of God.

Book Women and Men in the Qur n

Download or read book Women and Men in the Qur n written by Asma Lamrabet and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-05-02 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book distinguishes Islam as a spiritual message from the sociopolitical context of its revelation. While the sacred text of the Quran reveals a clear empowerment of women and equality of believers, such spirit is barely reflected in the interpretations. Trapped between Western rhetoric that portrays them as submissive figures in desperate need of liberation, and centuries-old, parochial interpretations that have almost become part of the “sacred,” Muslim women are pressured and profoundly misunderstood. Asma Lamrabet laments this state of affairs and the inclination of both Muslims and non-Muslims to readily embrace flawed human interpretations that devalue women rather than remaining faithful to the meaning of the Sacred Text. Full of insight, this study carefully reads the Qur’an to arrive at its deeper spiritual teachings.

Book Contemporary Approaches to the Qur an and Sunnah

Download or read book Contemporary Approaches to the Qur an and Sunnah written by Mahmoud Ayoub and published by International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Qur’an and Sunnah are the two primary sources of Muslim faith, life, law and morality. The Qur’an is for Muslims the foundation of their faith and the Sunnah is the framework of their morality. Together they constitute the two sources of the law (Shari’ah) of God, a guide to prosperity and happiness in this life and to the bliss of the hereafter. Although the Qur’an and Sunnah are materially and formally two independent sources, they are inextricably bound in a dynamic relationship. The rulings and precepts (ahkam) of the Qur’an constitute the law (shar’) of God. They are supplemented by the precepts of the authentic Sunnah, which possess authority second only to the precepts of the Qur’an. The Qur’an commands Muslims, “Whatever the Messenger gives you, that you must take, and whatever he forbids you, you must desist therefrom....” (59:7).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the common principles of morality and ethics derived from divinely endowed intuitive reason through the creation of al-fitr' a (nature) and human intellect (al-‘aql). Biomedical topics are presented and ethical issues related to topics such as genetic testing, assisted reproduction and organ transplantation are discussed. Whereas these natural sources are God’s special gifts to human beings, God’s revelation as given to the prophets is the supernatural source of divine guidance through which human communities have been guided at all times through history. The second part of the book concentrates on the objectives of Islamic religious practice – the maqa' sid – which include: Preservation of Faith, Preservation of Life, Preservation of Mind (intellect and reason), Preservation of Progeny (al-nasl) and Preservation of Property. Lastly, the third part of the book discusses selected topical issues, including abortion, assisted reproduction devices, genetics, organ transplantation, brain death and end-of-life aspects. For each topic, the current medical evidence is followed by a detailed discussion of the ethical issues involved.

Book Slavery Terrorism and Islam The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat

Download or read book Slavery Terrorism and Islam The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat written by Peter Hammond and published by . This book was released on 2021-06-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Peter Hammond's bestselling book: SLAVERY, TERRORISM & ISLAM - The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat is a fascinating, well illustrated and thoroughly documented response to the relentless anti-Christian propaganda that has been generated by Muslim and Marxist groups and by Hollywood film makers. As Karl Marx declared: "The first battlefield is the re-writing of History!" Slavery, Terrorism and Islam was first published in 2005 and quickly sold out. It earned Dr. Peter Hammond a death threat "Fatwa" from some Islamic radicals. We have included the story of that in an appendix of this book. Slavery, Terrorism & Islam sets the record straight with chapters on "Muhammad, the Caliphas and Jihad", "The Oppression of Women in Islam", "The Sources of Islam" and "Slavery the Rest of the Story". With over 200 pictures, maps and charts, this book is richly illustrated. It consists of 16 chapters and 13 very helpful appendixes including demographic maps of the spread of Islam, a Glossary of Islamic Terms, a comparison of Muslim nations' military spending vs. their national prosperity, a chart on how Jihad works depending on the percentage of Muslims in the population and guidelines for Muslim evangelism.

Book 40 Spiritual Rules for the Journey of Life From Al Quran

Download or read book 40 Spiritual Rules for the Journey of Life From Al Quran written by Syed Hasan Raza Jafri and published by MindStir Media. This book was released on 2022-11-11 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human beings have deciphered a number of rules and laws that govern the working of the physical universe. Just like these physical rules that govern the physical world, there are rules and laws that govern a much deeper and more profound world of spirituality. In the modern world, we have been ignoring spiritual aspects of our existence, which has created an imbalance in our being, manifesting itself through dysregulated emotions, mental health problems, poor ability to cope with stressors of life, inability to maintain long-term relationships, and even episodes of self-harm and violence against others. While science and technology are very useful, the use of 5G, artificial intelligence, and electric cars is not going to solve our basic problems in our personal and social lives. On the other hand, by following certain universal spiritual rules, we can tap into the tremendous potential within our own souls to transform our lives as well as the human society. This book describes forty universal spiritual rules adopted from Al-Quran, the holy text of Muslims, which are applicable to most of us, to help us better understand why certain things happen in our lives at a spiritual level and how can we lead a more spiritually fulfilling life. This book is intended for all people with a basic belief in a higher power, i.e., God and consciousness beyond death, irrespective of their religious denomination. In order to limit our personal conflicts, have a more harmonious co-existence, and unleash untapped human potential, the world needs a new civilization whose foundation is based on spirituality. Some of us can sense that civilization is very close, and this book is an attempt to help us get there. Syed Hasan Raza Jafri is a thoracic medical oncologist (lung cancer specialist) and a cancer researcher. He is the author of another book called God and god of Science which attempts to answer big questions of life about our existence from the perspective of science and monotheism. He has also produced a documentary with a similar title available on YouTube. He grew up in Pakistan but now lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and three kids.
