Book How Christianity Built Western Civilization

Download or read book How Christianity Built Western Civilization written by Dr. Alex Locay and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2022-01-05 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, the voices from the secular left are hard at work removing any trace of religion from government and the law. Meanwhile, secular historians have successfully limited Christianity’s contribution in history to the Crusades and Inquisitions; as if that is all Christians have to speak for. The real story is quite different, primarily that everything good in Western Civilization has its roots in the Christian religion. How Christianity Built Western Civilization is the epic tale of how our Christian forefathers stood up to history’s darkest forces, to forge a new way of life, grounded in the biblical worldview. Over the centuries it has become evident that Western Civilization has emerged as mankind’s greatest achievement. It is here where the greatest political and economic systems were born, and here that we see the concept of human rights emerge, along with the modern scientific process and the greatest discoveries. It is in the West that we find the most advanced educational institutions, along with the greatest charities, artistic masterpieces and architectural innovations. Is this a coincidence, or the deliberate result of our worldview? How Christianity Built Western Civilization answers this question with chapters on human rights, modern science, universal education, charity, art and architecture; focusing entirely on the revolutionary milestones and individuals that made these achievements possible. Each chapter unfolds chronologically, starting with the biblical foundation and moving through the work of the early and Medieval Church, arriving at modern times. The author builds a compelling case demonstrating how Western Civilization would be indistinguishable from India, China or Africa today, if not for the teachings of Christ and the Bible.

Book Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe

Download or read book Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe written by Erdener Kaynak and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-02-04 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the sudden opening of the markets in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 1989, there has been a growing need to investigate the fundamental changes occurring in the countries’marketing environment, the lucrative market opportunities created by the changes, and the inscrutable marketing practice followed by local and international companies. Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe helps you understand the changes taking place in these valuable and challenging markets and introduces you to the emerging opportunities and effective marketing strategies to be employed in the region. Researchers specializing in CEE business; managers of international companies operating in or contemplating entering CEE markets; and students studying CEE business, East-West business, or marketing in transitional economies will better understand the region by examining issues of cross- cultural inquiry, commonality, and market segmentation. Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe also provides you with: a region-relevant market analysis to determine environmental dimensions of emerging markets a preliminary report on market-entry strategies in Poland an assessment of foreign direct investment opportunities in Hungary a study of Western-style marketing applied in transitional economies an analysis of marketization and Westernization used as classifying dimensions information on increasing the validity of post-command economy research and application Although the book’s chapters cover a variety of topics and use different research approaches and methodologies, they have a common theme--there is a great interest in, and an equally great need to scientifically investigate, rapidly emerging market opportunities, marketing-environment issues, and marketing-strategy problems with respect to transitional economies of Central and Eastern Europe.

Book Handbook of Psychology and Health Volume I

Download or read book Handbook of Psychology and Health Volume I written by Robert J. Gatchel and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-09-30 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1982, this volume deals with behavioral medicine and clinical psychology. Much of what psychologists had been able to contribute to the study and treatment of health and illness had, to this point, been derived from clinical research and behavioral treatment. This volume presents some of this work, providing a fairly comprehensive view of the overlap between behavioral medicine and clinical psychology. Its purpose was to present some of the traditional areas of research and practice in clinical psychology that had directly and indirectly contributed to the development of behavioral medicine. Before the ‘birth’ of behavioral medicine, which subsequently attracted psychologists from many different areas ranging from social psychology to operant conditioning, the chief link between psychology and medicine consisted of the relationship, albeit sometimes fragile and tumultuous, between clinical psychology and psychiatry. Many of the behavioral assessment and treatment methods now being employed in the field of behavioral medicine were originally developed in the discipline of clinical psychology.
