Little consistency was found in the evaluation criteria of the models. Eight problems of such models are discussed which appear to reduce their utility for the study of organizational effectiveness. Suggestions are advanced for future work to focus on operative goals and goal optimization to further our understanding of the effectiveness construct in on-going organizations.
