Book excerpt: Just out of sight and mostly outside the awareness of mainstream media, a shift in consciousness is underway that’s beyond religion, politics, and science as we know it now. It’s an accelerated perception shared by millions worldwide: we are all energetically entangled. What affects one, affects all. Here in this sea of evolving awareness, we perceive intuitively, through the heart, and often experience astonishing coincidences or synchronicities. It’s here we might momentarily connect with a lost loved one, catch a glimpse of our future, or be nudged unexpectedly onto a different path. These wake-up calls alert us to a deeper matrix of reality. Welcome to The Shift.

Book Paradigm Shift in Language Planning and Policy

Download or read book Paradigm Shift in Language Planning and Policy written by Ettien Koffi and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2012-01-27 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book proposes a paradigm shift in language planning and language policy in Africa. For the past fifty years, the dominant model has been the hegemonic model whereby a language of wider communication (LWC) is imposed on minority languages. It is now time for a paradigm shift in favor of a more egalitarian model in which all the languages spoken in the same country, irrespective of their size, are planned. The paradigm shift concerns four critical areas: status planning, cost-benefit planning, acquisition planning, and corpus planning. Such a shift is justified for the following reasons: First, the hegemonic model has a dismal track record of success in Africa and elsewhere. Second, the hegemonic model exacerbates linguistic conflicts in many countries. Consequently, policy makers shun it for fear of jeopardizing the fragile social fabric in their respective countries. Last, a shift away from the hegemonic model is recommended because it is too costly to implement. The "democratic model" is undergirded by the Strategic Game Theory proposed by David Laitin. It forecasts a 3±1 language outcome for most African countries. This outcome supports the "three language formula" now called for by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

  • Author : Martin Cohen
  • Publisher : Andrews UK Limited

  • ISBN : 184540856X
  • Pages : 273 pages

Download or read book Paradigm Shift written by Martin Cohen and published by Andrews UK Limited. This book was released on 2015-09-09 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do giraffes have long necks? It can't really be for reaching tasty leaves since their main food is ground level bushes, tidy though that explanation would be. And how does relativity theory cope with the fact that the observable universe defies prediction by being far too small and anything but homogeneous? By inventing a vastly larger, but invisible, universe. And what exactly should we make of the scientists who claim to be witnessing thought itself, when the changes of blood flow in the brain that they observe are a thousand times slower than the neuronal activity it is supposed to reveal? A little scepticism is in order. Yet if philosophers of science, from Thomas Kuhn to Paul Feyerabend, have argued that science is a more haphazard process, driven by political fashion and short-term economic self-interest, today almost everyone seems to assume it is a vast jigsaw of interlocking facts pieced slowly but steadily together by expert practitioners. In this witty but profound 21st-century update on the issues, Martin Cohen offers vital clues for understanding not only the way knowledge develops, but also into the dangers of accepting too readily or too uncritically the claims of experts of all kinds - even philosophical ones! The claims are invariably presented as objective fact, yet are rooted in human subjectivity.

The second half of the book consists of ten sermons from specific texts that incorporate the theoretical underpinnings of the book's first section. The essays and sermons are bound together by the same question: How can we draw our congregations into the world John has imagined for us? Contributors include: Gail O'Day, Richard B. Hays, Gregory Stevenson, Thomas H. Olbricht, Tom Boomershine, D'Esta Love, Alyce M. McKenzie, David Fleer, Dave Bland, and others.

Book Canon Covenant and Christology

Download or read book Canon Covenant and Christology written by Matthew Barrett and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2020-03-24 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "All Scripture is breathed out by God" (2 Timothy 3:16). From Paul's epistles the divine inspiration of Scripture may be confidently affirmed. However, on turning to Jesus and the Gospels, it is difficult to find such an explicit approach. In this New Studies in Biblical Theology volume, Matthew Barrett argues that Jesus and the apostles have just as convictional a doctrine of Scripture as Paul or Peter, but it will only be discovered if the Gospels are read within their own canonical horizon and covenantal context. The nature of Scripture presupposed by Jesus and the Gospel writers may not be addressed directly, but it manifests itself powerfully when their words are read within the Old Testament's promise-fulfilment pattern. Nothing demonstrates Scripture's divine origin, divine authorial intent and trustworthiness more than the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the advent of the Son of God, the Word has become flesh, announcing to Jew and Gentile alike that the covenant promises Yahweh made through the Law and the Prophets have been fulfilled in the person and work of Christ. Addressing key issues in biblical theology, the works comprising New Studies in Biblical Theology are creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles. The NSBT series is edited by D. A. Carson, aiming to simultaneously instruct and to edify, to interact with current scholarship and to point the way ahead.

Book The Spirit of Conscious Capitalism

Download or read book The Spirit of Conscious Capitalism written by Michel Dion and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-10-20 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a constructive criticism of the emerging practice of conscious capitalism from the perspective of world religions and spiritualities. Conscious capitalism, to many of its adherents, represents an evolutionary step forward beyond the dominant neo-liberal paradigm, where it often appears that just about everything is for sale. Is conscious capitalism consistent with the values inherent in religious and spiritual world-views and does it provide a better fit for bringing out the best that business has to offer? This book answers these questions and many more. An appealing read for researchers in business ethics as well as any reader critical of the excrescences of capitalism.

Book Paradigm Change

Download or read book Paradigm Change written by Martine Robbeets and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2014-10-15 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with comparing morphological paradigms between languages in order to establish areal and genealogical relationships. The languages in focus are the Transeurasian languages: Japanese, Korean, Tungusic, Mongolic, and Turkic languages. World-eminent experts in diachronic morphology and typology interact with specialists on Transeurasian languages, presenting innovative theoretical analyses and new empirical facts. The stress on the importance of paradigmatic morphology in historical linguistics contrasts sharply with the paucity of existing literature on the topic. This volume partially fills this gap, by shifting focus from Indo-European to other language families. “Paradigm change” will appeal to scholars and advanced students concerned with linguistic reconstruction, language contact, morphology and typology, and to anyone interested in the Transeurasian languages.

Book Just a thought e Manna for the Mind

Download or read book Just a thought e Manna for the Mind written by Ed Cook and published by Harmon Press. This book was released on 2011-07 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thought-provoking book offers short readings on a wide variety of topics prompted by Dr. Ed Cook's engagement with culture and the Christian faith. In the age of sound bites and instant gratification, we sometimes forget that elements of our life deserve more consideration than can be expressed in tweets, posts, and Facebook status updates. The chapters are short, the writing is pithy, and the pages will prompt readers to develop and contemplate their own questions regarding this brave new world in which we find ourselves at the start of the twenty-first century. Just as in life, the joy is often in the journey rather than the destination. The richness of this reading experience may often be found in the questions contemplated rather than in answers discovered. So read, enjoy, and think a bit. You may not agree with everything presented but remember, no offense is intended because, after all, what's offered is just a thought.

Download or read book Reign of the Essence written by Dr. Feridoun Shawn Shahmoradian and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2022-08-02 with total page 1524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries the debates over if there is a God or not? Have tempted curious minds to meditate on the whys and hows of our mysterious universe. Splitting into two major faculties or aptitudes are the atheists, the skeptics, and the theists, the believers. The irony, the paradox, is the very scientific notions that were once rendered leveraged to the nonbelievers. It has turned into an autoimmune disease attacking the body, the white cells, striking the tissues that used to support it. Because no systematic laws applicable to the physical world are compatible with the unseen world. The quantum domain. I call the metaphysically oriented submicroscopic realm the sphere of God since the bizarre behaviors are puzzling the beautiful minds of our time. The scholarly-minded scientists and prominent physicists unanimously confess that no Newtonian laws or any traditional physic have the answer to this majestic, exalted environment. Reign of essence/ the encyclopedia of critical thinking is the closest that the reader can come in quenching one’s thirst in search of the truth; since no better source can philosophically, scientifically, ethically, morally, spiritually, and historically attribute to facts referencing the visible and the ethereal (ghostly) atmosphere so evidential to a magnificent programmer. Leaving no doubt, we live in a computer-simulated matrix since the extremely orderly and regulated universe. Operates like unique computer bits, tuning our world and beyond. Acknowledging, gravitating to essential premises, and apart from fiction and determinant notions that are not thoroughly, methodologically investigated. Contiguous, bordering, the nearest that one can come to God as the transparent image of the almighty; perhaps looking at the human brain hinting at alien-like characters should remind us of conforming simulated clone dominion. With a thorough look into the invisible domain, the quantum world. I called it the metaphysical realm. The culprits and the ignorance should realize it is not what it is. Becoming concerned makes much sense. It is not what it looks like. There is a higher source; call it what you wish; I call the preeminent God.

Book Minds of Reason

Download or read book Minds of Reason written by Dr. Feridoun Shawn Shahmoradian and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2019-07-22 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of essays are strikingly informative since phenomenal strides are taken in search of truth, abating speculation. The well-thought interdisciplinary essays are rare, since they can quench the thirst for studious-minded people in search of knowledge and can bring that inquisitive mind closer to the reality of universal existence. The book is entitled Minds of Reason and sub-titled It is not what it is, which divulges the most arcane (enigmatic) issues of our time, clarifying imperative subject matter like why there is a God and why not many gods, why we are here, what happens after we die, what existed before the big bang, is our living purposefully driven, if a mind or matter is responsible for creation, and so on. The book Minds of Reason delves into exploring for truth; it unveils the awesome traces of God while leaving no stone unturned, convincing the reader that there’s more to life than meets the eye. Quintessential discourse on emerging fields for groundbreaking ideological, spiritual, philosophy, scientific, cultural, psychologic, social, political, economic domains, and the rationale behind these intriguingly intricate subjects, are clearly discussed. The refined methodology is executed to carefully manifest the essence of what matters, to play a catalyst in intuitively abstract findings, to muster a dynamic form or variation of clear cognizance for illustrating key arguments, to better fathom the essentials of existence. The aim is to insightfully navigate the uncharted territories to further deter obtuse debates; where dogmatic theoretical views can transcend to higher perception planes to further avoid vain acrimony (altercation) for a paradigm shift in meaningful communication, quantifying manna (gratuitous benefit) outcome from both sides of the aisle.

  • ISBN : 1728357713

Download or read book God Man and the Universe written by Dr. Feridoun Shawn Shahmoradian and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2020-03-30 with total page 781 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The angel is free because of his knowledge, the beast because of ignorance. Between the two remains the son of man to struggle.” —Rumi A no-nonsense approach in fathoming God, man, and the universe, a genesis relates to the existence, just a drop in an ocean in true wisdom for grasping the awesome power of the Creator. It is a jaw-dropping experience that ought to attract one to permeate the gist of the philosophical why and the scientific realization of how and what is sought beyond ordinary. Probing into consciousness, to prominent existence, mind, soul, and matter, faith, virtue, morality, spirituality, inspiring self-belief and igniting human excellence; rebuffing ideologically dogmatic notions where lack of inference is challenged and no wit-oriented remarks are questioned. To incite the sagacity of thoughts in search of truth, cultivating a deity where mendacity and hubris fail. A colossal shift from the traditionally ambiguous views as superfluous (nonessential) references is often the norm as minds of reason insightfully question all bogus claims; live the essence, awaken the God within you, let the demons lay eternally at rest, and question yourself. Should it not be the human’s will to conquer the ill notions? If not so, call man a beast that should solely live by instinct. “My humanity is a constant self-overcoming.” Frederick Nietzsche

Book excerpt: This landmark commentary marshals the vast experience and brilliant insights of one of today’s most revered Old Testament scholars. To those familiar with the work of Bruce K. Waltke, the significance and value of Genesis will be instantly apparent. Others who are unfamiliar with Waltke have only to read the first few chapters to understand why he has earned the reputation of a scholar’s scholar, and why this masterful volume stands like a monolith among Old Testament commentaries. Exploring the first book of the Bible as "theological literature," Waltke illuminates its meanings and methods for the pastor, scholar, teacher, student, and Bible-lover. Genesis strikes an unusual balance by emphasizing the theology of the Scripture text while also paying particular attention to the flow and development of the plot and literary techniques--inclusion, irony, chiasm, and concentric patterning--that shape the message of the "book of beginnings". Genesis Models the way to read and interpret the narratives of the book of Genesis Provides helpful exegetical notes that address key issues and debates surrounding the text Includes theological reflections on how the message addresses our contemporary theological and social issues, such as ecology, homosexuality, temperance, evil, prayer, and obedience Addresses critical interpretive issues, such as authenticity, date, and authorship For all the author’s formidable intellect and meticulous research, Genesis is amazingly accessible. This is no mere study tool. Lucidly and eloquently written, it is a work of the heart that helps us not only to understand deeply God’s Word in its context, but also to consider how it applies to us today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A guide to finding the fulfillment God intended for you: “This is a book that can change your life.” —Bo Mitchell, Chaplain, Colorado Rockies, author of Grace Behind Bars The Solomon Syndrome helps us understand the futile ways in which men and women seek to have a happy life pursuing the culture’s ideas of how to be successful. The first part of the book serves as a tool to assess how one seeks to have their needs met—often in ways that never work. Solomon becomes a model of how all the pathways the contemporary world encourages us to pursue only get us onto the “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and leave us with a sense of meaninglessness. It then lays out a paradigm of how God designed a network of relationships to meet one’s deepest needs and make life meaningful and happy. The second part of The Solomon Syndrome takes each of the relationships discussed within and provides a tool for adjustment and enhancement of each area. Rather than being a book about marriage, or family, or serving, or a relationship with God, it shows how all relationships are designed to work together to create the life God intended for people to live.
