Book Magnetic Properties of Nano Heterogeneous Amorphous Thin Films

Download or read book Magnetic Properties of Nano Heterogeneous Amorphous Thin Films written by Rogers M. Walser and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Substantial progress has been made in processing nano heterogeneous, amorphous thin films with attractive magnetic properties. Work has been concentrated on two categories of sputtered thin films; (1) soft magnetic, CoB and CoNbZr alloy thin films, and (2) magneto-optical, compositionally modulated Gd/Co multilayer thin films. We are attempting to understand and control the nanoscale heterogeneous structures of these films for application to, respectively, thin film magnetic recording heads, and magneto-optical recording. Cobalt, Niobium, Zirconium, Boron. (MJM).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book covers up-to-date information on nucleosides and antiviral chemotherapy contributed by the world experts in the field of nucleoside. This book is the result of a meeting honoring Dr. Jack J. Fox, who was one of the pioneers in nucleoside chemistry and chemotherapy. This book consists of 15 excellent chapters in the area, which include topics from recent synthetic methodologies, nucleoside kinase implicated in chemotherapy and drug design, excellent reviews on antiviral agents, nucleoside metabolism/mode of action in parasites, new compounds under clinical and pre-clinical trials, IMPDH inhibitors to review on nucleoside prodrugs.

Book Late Transition Metal Polymerization Catalysis

Download or read book Late Transition Metal Polymerization Catalysis written by Bernhard Rieger and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-03-06 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the start of the 1950s, Ziegler and Natta discovered that simple metallorganic catalysts are capable of transforming olefins into linear polymers with highly ordered structures. This pioneering discovery was recognized with a Nobel Prize in 1963. In the 80s and 90s, the development of molecular defined metallocenes led to a renaissance for non-polar polyolefin materials. Designer catalysts allowed a greater precision in defining properties of the material. The past 10 years have seen the discovery of new catalysts based on late transition metals, which allow the combination of polar monomers with non-polar olefins and thus lead to innovative materials. Here, the world's leading authors from industry and academia describe the latest developments in this fascinating field for the first time in such comprehensive detail. In so doing, they introduce readers systematically to the basic principles and show how these new catalysts can effectively be used for polymerization reactions. This makes the book an ideal and indispensable reference for specialists, advanced students, and scientists of various disciplines dealing with research into catalysts and materials science.
