Book excerpt: This book stands in favour of the fact that the upcoming methodologies in dental sciences are no exception to the trend of focusing on even finer details in materials currently used in dentistry. Many hopes are pinned on nanotechnology that it will bring tangible benefits to dentistry from the bench to the clinical level. This book showcases a few applications that fall into the scope of contemporary nanotechnology-based techniques as a way of improving and transforming nano materials into solid bases for novel methods to be applied in future applications in dentistry.

Book Nanotechnology In Dentistry

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dr.Pratik.C.Parkarwar
  • Publisher : Sankalp Publication
  • Release :
  • ISBN : 9393849242
  • Pages : 125 pages

Download or read book Nanotechnology In Dentistry written by Dr.Pratik.C.Parkarwar and published by Sankalp Publication. This book was released on with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nanomaterials are those materials with componentsless than 100 nm in at least one dimension, includingclusters of atoms, grains less than 100 nm in size, fibers that are less than 100 nm diameter, films lessthan 100 nm in thickness, nanoholes, and compositesthat are a combination of these. The compositioncan be any combination of naturally occurring elements.Because nanoparticles have significant surfaceeffects, size effects, and quantum effects, nanocomposites usually exhibit much better performanceproperties than traditional materials. Theimproved relevant properties include enhancedtoughness, stiffness, improved transparency, increasedscratch, abrasion, solvent and heat resistance, and decreased gas permeability. In addition, nanoparticles have special properties, includingchemical, optical, magnetic, and electro-opticalproperties, which differ from those of either individualmolecules or bulk species. These significantproperties of nanoparticles meet the intriguingdemand to design multifunctional nanocompositefilms, which cover properties of both inorganic andorganic materials and exhibit immense prospectsfor developing light-emitting diodes, nonlinear opticaldevices, resistors, sensors, electrically conductivefilms, and gas separation membranes. In the field of periodontics, Nanotechnonlogy has been used primarily to disrupt the biofilm, in the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity, as local drug delivery agents, bone replacement materials,in photodynamic therapy,as scaffolds in tissue engineering and in dental implants and the results were promising when compared to conventional therapies.

Book Emerging Nanotechnologies in Dentistry

Download or read book Emerging Nanotechnologies in Dentistry written by Karthikeyan Subramani and published by William Andrew. This book was released on 2017-10-30 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Emerging Nanotechnologies in Dentistry, Second Edition, brings together an international team of experts from the fields of materials science, nanotechnology and dentistry to explain these new materials and their applications for the restoration, fixation, replacement or regeneration of hard and soft tissues in and about the oral cavity and craniofacial region. New nanomaterials are leading to a range of emerging dental treatments that utilize more biomimetic materials that more closely duplicate natural tooth structure (or bone, in the case of implants). Each chapter has been comprehensively revised from the first edition, and new chapters cover important advances in graphene based materials for dentistry, liposome based nanocarriers and the neurotoxicity of nanomaterials used in dentistry. Offers a comprehensive professional reference for the subject covering materials fabrication and use of materials for all major diagnostic and therapeutic dental applications: repair, restoration, regeneration, implants and prevention Focuses in depth on the materials manufacturing processes involved, with emphasis on pre-clinical and clinical applications, use and biocompatibility Examines the use of novel nanomaterials including graphene in dentistry, exploring how these may best be used

Book Eclipse of Dreams

Download or read book Eclipse of Dreams written by Kunneth Ramakrishnan and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2021-03-17 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is written focussed on the interests of intelligent, hardworking and ambitious young men, young women and their parents. Overconfident, energetic and independent young people take impulsive decisions, oblivious of future consequences. All those who are born on this earth are entitled to enjoy a comfortable, dignified and healthy life. It does not happen always. Mainly because they are not groomed to achieve this objective, with realistic visions, life skills, attitudes and emotional stability. Most parents are preoccupied with day-to-day survival problems and social issues. They leave the task of grooming their children to teachers. Overcrowded educational institutions are in business mode in our free India. The Gurus are a demoralised and discriminated lot in the technology ridden and competitive employment market. Most young people, therefore, are forced to go through a trial and error approach to improve their lifestyle. Making a wrong decision is easy. Getting out of its clutches is complicated or even disastrous. Some of them surrender to defeats and get left out on the journey of life. Some of them challenges the challenges and come out victorious. But, by then a major part of their precious life would have already expired. “Eclipse of Dreams” deals with the battered life of a man, a living model, which might save some young people waiting to commit mistakes or take wrong decisions. It also throws light on some of the hidden and inappropriate social and political issues, for the young people of India to take on.

Book excerpt: The meaning of our life is solely focused on the various aspects which make our life beautiful, happy, and also entertaining. We are inbound by a lot of thoughts on our minds that constantly disturb us in the long run of our life. These thoughts redirect us to a different path where we lose ourselves without knowing the consequences we are going to face. We rely more on our past which creates resistance with the universe, making us forget about enjoying our present and making our future worth living. It is true that for the trees to grow stronger, their roots must be strong. Every root makes a difference in some or the other way. We have chapters written for our life already and we can’t skip any of them as it works that way. Every person you meet, everything you feel and see is important and is connected in many ways. Do you know what is one of the biggest assets of our body? Our mind. In the same way, this book elucidates the roots which are important for you to discover the beautiful life that you can think of living. When these roots, though generic, grow stronger, they help you create a mental garden of thoughts that will reflect the way you want your life to be. For a human to live, positivity, happiness, and calmness are a few craft keys to their mind. When you maintain it, you’ll then make a cloud that would contain a cluster of happiness, entertainment, peace, the beauty of our soul which will drift you off-limits in making every moment, every second count in your life making it to the beautiful destination that you eventually wanted to reach.
