Book excerpt: This cookbook has been in the making for some time. I have been cooking from a young age and have had things that turn out well and things that just turn out awesome. The objective of the book is to show anyone that has an interest in cooking and in being creative can do it as long as there is a desire to take on the challenge. I have a vast variety of recipes within the book, and some are easy and a little more challenging. All my life has been involved in music as a violinist and a conductor of symphony orchestras in which I have played and conducted all around the world. As part of a fundraising, I have done many five-course gourmet dinners for symphony orchestras, like Edmonton symphony, the Vancouver symphony orchestra, also the Vancouver Island symphony, just to mention a few. I have created over forty-five of those types of dinners. You will find ways also to create your own combinations to suit your own taste. HAVE FUN COOKING!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Celebrity chef Guy Fieri once said, "Cooking is all about people. Food is maybe the only universal thing that has the power to bring everyone together. No matter what culture, everywhere around the world, people get together to eat." As a violinist and as a conductor, I have spent many years cooking five-course meals for events and specific symphonies and gathered experience over the years to bring about a complete list of recipes that range from fairly simple and easy, to complex and precise to a specific palate. It is a rare fusion of music and food that brings a unique collection of recipes to life in which readers will thoroughly enjoy reading for themselves. What's perfect about this book is that it is fairly straightforward in its approach. For many readers, the purpose of a cookbook is simply to find the recipes they are searching for and get prepared to make it. Yet sometimes readers will have to sift through pages of backstory or experiences before they can get to the recipe at all. From appetizers and soups, salads, to various styles of baked beans, rice and meat dishes, the readers will be kept entertained and fed for a long time to come. The collection is for anyone who enjoys cookbooks, trying new recipes, or for those who take on food with a small musical bent to them. Book There I Was Media Musings

Download or read book There I Was Media Musings written by Aruna Ravikumar and published by Prabhat Prakashan. This book was released on 2023-08-24 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living through dramatic times as one of the first woman political journalists in the broadcast media in the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh when private television channels breezed through the regional landscape in the mid-nineties, Aruna Ravikumar witnessed momentous developments and historical events frozen in time. ‘There I Was’! Media Musings'’ is a compelling read about her foray into journalism which unwittingly began with her listening to interesting news discussions by fellow morning walkers when she accompanied her grandfather to Hyderabad’s famous tank bund, culminating in her moderating political debates in television studios. Political intrigues, destruction of cities, caste conflicts, faction politics, and naxalite violence are part of the mosaic of experiences chronicled here with historical perspective and personal observation. Sketches of select celebrities from hundreds of interviews over decades will inspire awe and admiration in a world woefully lacking role-models. The book essays learnings from the media taking in its sweep, crowning successes and glaring failures and a wide gamut of issues in between.

This book was released on 2019-01-17 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 36 Love Stories is an attempt to break the stereotypes that cluster around the emotion called love. Love has no one definition and it can't be limited to only one dimension of teenage love or conjugal love. It can be very ordinary, fleeting and yet a fragment of our soul. This 'anthology' is a collection of such short stories based on a common theme - Anything, any activity, any person or living being that/who makes life passionate and meaningful. To be all inclusive this book should be better named as Infinite Love Stories but isn't love infinite in it qualitatively? To ponder more on such questions - let’s embark on a journey to discover the infiniteness of love contained in our finite passionate tales.

Book A Thousand Perfect Notes

Book excerpt: An emotionally charged story about the power of dreams, and how passion can turn to obsession. Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play as she did before illness ended her career and left her bitter and broken. But Beck is too scared to stand up to his mother, and tell her his true passion, which is composing his own music - because the least suggestion of rebellion on his part ends in violence. When Beck meets August, a girl full of life, energy and laughter, love begins to awaken within him and he glimpses a way to escape his painful existence. But dare he reach for it? Thrilling and powerfully written, this is an explosive debut for YA readers which tackles the dark topic of domestic abuse in an ultimately hopeful tale.

Book Toscanini in Britain

Download or read book Toscanini in Britain written by Christopher Dyment and published by Boydell Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to describe Arturo Toscanini's activities - the life he led, his concerts and recording sessions - during his visits to London and elsewhere in Britain in the years 1900-1952. During the 1930s Arturo Toscanini conducted many concerts broadcast by the BBC from London's Queen's Hall, where he also made some unsurpassed recordings. Drawing on newly researched material in British and American archives, Christopher Dyment reveals how the most renowned and influential conductor of the twentieth century, notoriously microphone-shy though he was, came to conduct so frequently in London, a tale replete with unexpected twists, turns and ingenious stratagems. Toscanini's dominating influence on London critics and audiences in the period covered by the narrative, extending through to his final appearances at the Royal Festival Hall in 1952, is copiously documented from contemporary sources. Dyment also presents fresh evidence showing how the remarkable combination of passionate conviction and architectural mastery that characterised Toscanini's conducting was grounded not only in his obsessive study of the score but also in his awareness of performing traditions dating back to the mid-nineteenth century. This book will fascinate those with a particular interest in Toscanini's career and recorded legacy. It is also essential reading for anyone with an interest in the history of conducting and recording in the first half of the twentieth century, set against the vividly evoked backdrop of London's concert scene of the period. This comprehensive study includes both an annotated table of all Toscanini's London concerts and his EMI discography. CHRISTOPHER DYMENT has written extensively about historic conductors since the 1970s, particularly Felix Weingartner and Arturo Toscanini. His first book, on Weingartner, was published in 1976.
