Download or read book Scientific Engineering for Distributed Java Applications written by Nicolas Guelfi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-01 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FIDJI 2002 was an international forum for researchers and practitioners in- rested in the advances in, and applications of, software engineering for distri- ted application development. Concerning the technologies, the workshop focused on “Java-related” technologies. It was an opportunity to present and observe the latest research, results, and ideas in these areas. All papers submitted to this workshop were reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee. Acceptance was based primarily on the originality and contribution. We selected for these postworkshop proceedings 16 papers amongst 33 submitted, two tutorials, and two keynotes. FIDJI 2002 was aimed at promoting a scienti?c approach to software engin- ring. The scope of the workshop included the following topics: – design of distributed Java applications – Java-related technologies – software and system architecture engineering and development methodo- gies – development methodologies for UML – development methodologies for reliable distributed systems – component-based development methodologies – management of evolutions/iterations in the analysis, design, implementation, and test phases – dependability support during system lifecycle – managing inconsistencies during application development – atomicity and exception handling in system development – software architectures, frameworks, and design patterns for developing d- tributed systems – integration of formal techniques in the development process – formal analysis and grounding of modeling notation and techniques (e. g.
Download or read book Java Precisely third edition written by Peter Sestoft and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2016-03-18 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An updated, concise reference for the Java programming language, version 8.0, and essential parts of its class languages, offering more detail than a standard textbook. The third edition of Java Precisely provides a concise description of the Java programming language, version 8.0. It offers a quick reference for the reader who has already learned (or is learning) Java from a standard textbook and who wants to know the language in more detail. The book presents the entire Java programming language and essential parts of the class libraries: the collection classes, the input-output classes, the stream libraries and Java 8's facilities for parallel programming, and the functional interfaces used for that. Though written informally, the book describes the language in detail and offers many examples. For clarity, most of the general rules appear on left-hand pages with the relevant examples directly opposite on the right-hand pages. All examples are fragments of legal Java programs. The complete ready-to-run example programs are available on the book's website. This third edition adds material about functional parallel processing of arrays; default and static methods on interfaces; a brief description of the memory model and visibility across concurrent threads; lambda expressions, method reference expressions, and the related functional interfaces; and stream processing, including parallel programming and collectors.
Download or read book Electrical Engineering written by Steven E. Schwarz and published by Oxford University Press on Demand. This book was released on 1993 with total page 765 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This comprehensive revision of a popular text helps non-electrical engineering majors--the future users, rather than the designers of electrical devices, systems, and machines--gain a conceptual understanding of electrical engineering. Early coverage of systems and an emphasis on an IC (integrated circuits) "building block" approach motivates non-majors. The text features integration of analog and digital technology with cutting-edge coverage of op-amps, feedback and analog systems. A section on SPICE, the leading computer-aided circuit analysis software, introduces students to computerized analysis of circuits. Chapter-end Applications capture student interest by relating material to contemporary topics such as automobile suspension systems, high-fidelity audio, and hand-held computers.

Book excerpt: You might think more than enough design books exist in the programming world already. In fact, there are so many that it makes sense to ask why you would read yet another. Is there really a need for yet another design book? In fact, there is a greater need than ever before, and Practical API Design: Confessions of a Java Framework Architect fills that need! Teaches you how to write an API that will stand the test of time Written by the designer of the NetBeans API at Sun Technologies Based on best practices, scalability, and API design patterns
