Book excerpt: With the same super tenacious, always moving forward, pushing the pace style that makes her a fierce competitor in three fighting sports, professional mixed-martial artist Felice Herrig reminds young fans that in the Octagon and in life, sweet victory follows on the heels of a positive attitude and dogged determination. In her new children's picture book, The Lil' Bulldog, Lemons into Lemonade, the cartoon version of The Lil' Bulldog wins another big fight, but an injury threatens to sour her victory. Instead of throwing in the towel, she works her way back while learning new things with the help of Quinn the Cat and a host of animal friends. A world class kick boxer, Muay Thai fighter, and mixed martial artist, Felice Herrig has earned multiple amateur and professional titles in more than 30 boxing and kickboxing matches and 24 MMA fights. She's paved the way for women to compete and be recognized on shows like Fight Girls, Chuck Norris's World Combat League, Ultimate Fighter 20, and American Ninja Warrior. And she blazed a trail for female fighters as one of the first strawweights signed to the UFC. Through her debut children's picture book, The Lil' Bulldog, Lemons into Lemonade, she hopes to inspire young fans to stick to their dreams, no matter what.

Book Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up

Download or read book Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up written by Mark Peter Hughes and published by Ember. This book was released on 2013-11-12 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kirkus said, "warmhearted and innocently wild, this stand-alone sequel will find appreciative fans among teen music obsessives and social activists." Olivia, Wen, Stella, Charlie, and Mo—the members of the legendary band Lemonade Mouth—have been labeled many things. But just how did this little group of misunderstood outcasts end up rocketing from high school nobodies to household names? In their own words, the band tells the story of the momentous summer when an overworked music promoter, an unwanted visitor from India, and an unexpected reappearance by a figure from Olivia’s past shook their world and launched them on their roller-coaster ride to destiny. There are plenty of false rumors out there, but this is the real story, the continuation of the official history of Rhode Island’s most influential band. Lemonade Mouth is going worldwide and taking no prisoners. The outcome will be nothing short of revolutionary.

Book Until Death Do Us Part

Download or read book Until Death Do Us Part written by Dr. Mary White Williams and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-04-25 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many people who no longer believe in the sanctity of the marriage bond or the traditional wedding ceremony. Some have said that going through a wedding ceremony is a waste of timewhy bother? Why go through the hassle of getting a marriage license or a blood test? I have an answer for all of those who may think those thoughts, or who may dare to ask those questions. First of all, you cannot drive a car, fly an airplane, or go hunting or fishing without a license. Getting a license allows an individual the privilege, the right, and the legal permission to do something. Living together without legal documentation is settling for less than Gods best for you. In fact, it is an offense to God. Common-law marriage or shacking, although widely practiced and accepted in some states, is not a marriage in the sight of God. What it really is, is two people coming togethercohabiting without legal documentation. Gods desire is for all of us to live happy and satisfied lives whether we choose to marry or remain single. In marriage, a couple can live together without guilt, thus honoring God. Hebrews 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored), for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous (The Amplified Bible). Until Death Do Us Part was written as a guide for all who are satisfied in their singleness, for those who are believing God for that special person, and for those who desire a more fulfilling marriage.

Book The Real Story of The Negro Leagues

Download or read book The Real Story of The Negro Leagues written by Wayne Moody and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-03-11 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Real Story of the Negro Leagues is an account that has needed to be told since before 1920. With the new revelation of Major League Baseball accepting Negro League statistics, it makes this book even more relevant today. There are a multitude of players who toiled in anonymity simply because of the color of their skin. This book brings to light the people who made the Negro Leagues happen, as well as the players and executives who allowed it to flourish. There are Negro League players who have become household names, while others, who had a major influence in its success, have gotten ignored over time. Most people believe that Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play Major League Baseball. He wasn’t. Jackie actually signaled the end of Negro League baseball. Jackie’s accomplishments were monumental, but there is a rich history that led up to that moment. That rich history is where we will begin. The struggles these great players faced and degradation they had to endure is a testament to the resolve of these individuals. Their love and desire for the great game of baseball made them tackle obstacles others would never attempt. This is a story of triumph over all odds. This is “the real story of the Negro Leagues.”
