Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians who believe that Jesus is coming at any moment to rapture the church will discover that there will not be a rapture for those who are deemed to be in right standing with God. No one will be left behind. There will not be a seven-year tribulation period nor is the church the bride of Christ. Christians will also learn about enduring tribulation, resting in death, being resurrected from the dead, and standing before God on the day of judgement. Everyone who follows Christ will have to face the fact that they have been misled by those pastors who refuse to listen to or consult God for clarification concerning this doctrine. Because the rapture doctrine has been a major source of contention amongst leaders, many have chosen to agree to disagree. This decision has left the church divided concerning God's word and vulnerable to satanic deceptions. Those pastors who believe that the righteous will disappear are also guilty of misinterpreting the scriptures in an effort to support their beliefs. Christians have received little to no teaching from the book of Revelation because of this doctrine and the belief that the church would not be here. This selective teaching has left believers with no knowledge of what is to come. This is why the body of Christ must know God and his word for ourselves if we are going to recognize the enemies' tactics. As a loving Father, God is bringing this false doctrine back to the forefront to warn the church before Satan makes his next move. Every believer of Christ must become informed, transformed, and very courageous if we are going to overcome Satan's lies and the mark of the beast.

Book Lies We Believe About God

Download or read book Lies We Believe About God written by Wm. Paul Young and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-03-07 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of the bestselling novel The Shack and the New York Times bestsellers Cross Roads and Eve comes a compelling, conversational exploration of twenty-eight assumptions about God—assumptions that just might be keeping us from experiencing His unconditional, all-encompassing love. In his wildly popular novels, Wm. Paul Young portrayed the Triune God in ways that challenged our thinking—sometimes upending long-held beliefs, but always centered in the eternal, all-encompassing nature of God’s love. Now, in Wm. Paul Young’s first nonfiction book, he invites us to revisit our assumptions about God—this time using the Bible, theological discussion, and personal anecdotes. Paul encourages us to think through beliefs we’ve presumed to be true and consider whether some might actually be false. Expounding on the compassion fans felt from the “Papa” portrayed in The Shack—now a major film starring Sam Worthington and Octavia Spencer—Paul encourages you to think anew about important issues including sin, religion, hell, politics, identity, creation, human rights, and helping us discover God’s deep and abiding love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pastor Hosea Reynolds was the man of God that had been sent to preach the gospel. His church was flourishing and he made sure to give all of his time to his members. The one thing that he failed to realize was that his seventeen year old daughter Haven, needed him the most. For fifteen years he labored for the Lord until one day his house of cards came crashing down like the walls of Jericho. Yearning for her father's attention and missing the mother that she never knew, Haven was in a battle all alone. Her wild best friend Mila was there when she needed her to be but there was still a void. Being so young when her mother died, Haven never got the chance to experience certain things that every girl should. Learning about the changes in her body, accepting her appearance, and having "that talk" were just a few things she needed the most. It wasn't until one day Trouble entered her life and caused just that, trouble. Asa "Trouble" Thomas was his father's only son but he didn't want to be. Instead of enjoying the pleasures of being a teenager, he was forced into a life of crime by the age of thirteen. Just like Haven, he too had lost his mother. Except he didn't know that her life had been taken by the hands of the man who created him. It's not until Haven enters his life that his eyes are opened and he realizes he was just a pawn in his father's deadly game. Will the secrets of Trouble's family cause Haven to turn completely away from God or had her own father done that already? Standing before the Lord on judgement day we all will be held accountable for our sins. What happens though, when the person who should have been leading you to righteousness had been preaching lies this whole time?

We know Christ came to speak life, but then how come our inner critic keeps showing up and stealing the mic? If we’re honest, she’s a harsh one, saying things we’d never dream of saying to others: You’ll never measure up, you’ll fail again tomorrow, you just can’t get it right. It has been said that the eighteen inches from head to heart is the soul’s longest journey. Our head knows the good news is true, but our heart struggles to believe it, and it is in this gap that we battle to believe the promises of God. Hayley Morgan, coauthor of bestselling book Wild and Free, has wrestled with this tension her whole life. In Preach to Yourself, she tackles it head-on to discover how we can renew our minds to renew our lives. For every woman who struggles with repetitive, negative self-talk, this book will show you how to identify the toxic loops where you get stuck and replace them with the truth of God we can believe with our whole selves. This is not a “try harder” reprimand, it’s a “believe better” invitation: to take God at His word when He tells you who you are. Come along and learn a simple practice to break free from the lies holding you back, and step forward into the fullness of life God has planned.

Book Lies My Pastor Told Me

Download or read book Lies My Pastor Told Me written by Cole Brown and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-08-11 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both our concept of God and our daily life as Christians are shaped by what we hear in church. Unfortunately, some of the things that are most repeated in church culture are also those things that are least true. Lies My Pastor Told Me confronts 18 of these church clichés with the gospel of Jesus Christ and shows how each one robs Jesus of the glory he deserves and rob his people of the true good he has for them. Cole Brown writes from his own experience, having heard, believed and even taught these lies. The arguments used in the book to correct these lies are the same lies he found in the Bible and heard from other Christians, and those that ultimately led him to abandoned what he believed and find freedom and joy in the truths of the gospel. Lies My Pastor Told Me is not a book against pastors (the author himself is a pastor). It is a book against lies. It aims to point us toward the Chief Pastor, the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who himself is the Truth who never lies. To help leaders, we have included a DISCUSSION GUIDE after each chapter.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Contemporary preaching suffers from a loss of confidence in the power of the Word, from an infatuation with technology, from an embarrassment before the biblical text, from an evacuation of biblical content, from a focus on felt needs, from an absence of gospel." Preaching, the practice of publicly expositing the Bible, has fallen on hard times. How did this happen? After all, as John A. Broadus famously remarked, “Preaching is characteristic of Christianity." In this powerful book, He Is Not Silent: Preaching in a Postmodern World, R. Albert Mohler Jr. shows us how. In a style both commanding and encouraging, Mohler lays the groundwork for preaching, fans the flame on the glory of preaching, and calls out with an urgent need for preaching. This message is desperately needed yet not often heard. Whether you're concerned or enthused by the state of the church today, join Mohler as he examines preaching and why the church can't survive without it.

Book The Little Horn s Big Lie

Download or read book The Little Horn s Big Lie written by Lynda L. Durrett and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-09-30 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever listened to a preacher bring a sermon on the pre-tribulation rapture? How wonderful it will be when we are all caught up with Jesus just before everything breaks loose here on earth? What about the one that is preached on how and why the Sabbath was changed to Sunday and give a list of reasons; none of them found in the Bible. Then there is tithing? They make sure to let us know we demonstrate our obedience through paying our tithing and giving back to God/Yahweh, and when we do not, we can be cursed or not be blessed as we should. We cannot forget the sermon on the Gifts of God/Yahweh that are no longer for the church. These and other doctrinal views are commonly preached in the main stream Christian Churches today. They are based off opinion of men and are often argued with verses from the Bible that have been taken out of context. It is interesting that the evangelical churches today claim to take and read the Bible literally. They claim every word to be the inerrant word of God/Yahweh. Many of them treat the Bible as God/Yahweh, yet there is not a verse that can be found that says the Sabbath was changed to a Sunday, that the Saints will be raptured before the tribulation, or the church is to pay tithing. Nowhere will you find the Holy Spirit only gives just some of the gifts on the list to believers today. You will not find a verse that specifically tells you once you are saved you are always saved. Instead, you will find volumes of verses that contradict each of these false doctrines being preached. So, what does that say about our contemporary church today, the one that claims to take each word, statement, or verse literally, the very ones preaching about false teachers, teaching themselves, false doctrine?

Book The Whole Counsel of God

Download or read book The Whole Counsel of God written by Tim Patrick and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-02-27 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Expository preaching has been on the rise over the last five decades, with more and more pastors preaching through entire books of the Bible systematically. But few, if any, preachers have a long-term plan to teach through every book of the Bible over a lifetime of ministry. Since the whole Bible is God’s Word to his people, all of Scripture is important in order to grow as Christians. Written to make a case for the necessity of a long-term plan for preaching through the entire Bible instead of just through individual books, this is not just a book on how to preach, but also how to plan and prepare long-range preaching programs through the whole counsel of God.

Book Nine Lies Told from the Pulpit

Download or read book Nine Lies Told from the Pulpit written by Bertha Kufa Nhemwa and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2020-08-13 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was inspired to write this book because I am a preacher and teacher of the word. I listen to many sermons and I read many Christian books. From my revelation it shows the Kingdom of God is divided. A Kingdom divided will not stand and I have seen the devil deceiving many believers. Believers think that if the word is preached by a seasoned pastor, it is true. They do not have time to check what the Bible says and therefore they believe wrong doctrines. The Bible has been manipulated and many lies have been taught on the pulpit to the extent that praise and worship is no longer about God, but it is now about earthly possessions. If you listen to many songs sung in churches, there is no Christ in them. This book will reveal some of the lies that we have heard from the pulpit and open people's eyes to the truth. I want people to know the truth so that they are set free and I also want people to have their eyes opened so that they are able to identify the wolves dressed in sheep's clothing when they listen to men and women of God preaching.A Believer who wants to open other believers' eyes so that they may not be exposed to the wrong doctrines that are destroying peoples' lives through lies told on the pulpit. Those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth and I thrive to do just that. I want to expose the lies of the devil whose messages sound good and convincing on the pulpit but in there lies deception. I desire for truth to be told for the truth will set people free.

Book EXPOSING Lies We Believe About God

Download or read book EXPOSING Lies We Believe About God written by James B. De Young, Th.D. and published by Aneko Press. This book was released on 2018-12-05 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For years, there has been uncertainty regarding Paul Young’s The Shack. Some have suspected heresy but have been unable to pin down exactly what Paul Young believed. James De Young, Th.D., who has known Paul Young for a couple decades, wrote Burning Down the Shack to expose Christians to the fact that Paul Young espoused universalism. Now “the cat is out of the bag.” In his newest book, Lies We Believe about God, Young blatantly confesses adherence to universal reconciliation, as well as twenty-seven other beliefs that are heretical. Here are some of Paul Young's unbiblical claims: · God is not in control of everything · God submits to human beings · God is a Christian · God is a sexual being, equally male and female · People do not need to get saved · Sin and hell do not separate people from God · The cross was man’s idea, not God’s · People have a second chance to believe after death · Everyone is a child of God · Universal reconciliation has been accomplished for all people · The God of evangelical faith tortured his child, Jesus, and is the perpetrator of evil Drawing upon his life-long teaching of the Bible and the original languages, James De Young appeals to the Bible to expose Paul Young as a heretic. In appendices, he also furnishes proof that Paul Young violates the Nicene Creed and the beliefs of the early church father Athanasius. Finally, we have a book written by one who is both personally and academically qualified to expose the true nature of Young’s writings. De Young will empower you to: · Discover the heresy in Young’s book, Lies We Believe About God · Expand your ability to answer the lies found in universal reconciliation · Enhance your capacity to discern between the truth and falsehood · Strengthen your confidence in the truth of the Bible

Book Privilege the Text

    Book Details:
  • Author : Abraham Kuruvilla
  • Publisher : Moody Publishers
  • Release : 2013-04-25
  • ISBN : 0802485022
  • Pages : 442 pages

Download or read book Privilege the Text written by Abraham Kuruvilla and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2013-04-25 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Privilege the Text! spans the conceptual gap between biblical text and life application by providing a rigorous theological hermeneutic for preaching. Kuruvilla describes the theological entity that is the intermediary between ancient text and modern audience, and defines its crucial function in determining valid application. Based on this hermeneutic, he submits a new mode of reading Scripture for preaching: a Christiconic interpretation of the biblical text, a hermeneutically robust way to understand the depiction of the Second Person of the Trinity in Scripture. In addition, Kuruvilla’s work provides a substantive theology of spiritual formation through preaching: what it means to obey God, the Christian’s responsibility to undertake “faith-full” obedience to divine demand, and the incentives for such obedience—all integral to understanding the sermonic movement from text to application. Privilege the Text! promises to be useful not only for preachers, and students and teachers of homiletics, but for all who are interested in the exposition of Scripture that culminates in application for the glory of God.
