Book The Leader s Playlist

Download or read book The Leader s Playlist written by Susan Drumm and published by Greenleaf Book Group. This book was released on 2022-10-18 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is your internal playlist holding you back from being the leader you could be? In The Leader’s Playlist, leadership coach Susan Drumm unveils a groundbreaking process that outlines how our childhood wounds influence our ability to lead others and how music can heal those wounds. Maybe you’re having a hard time retaining or engaging your people. Or perhaps you’re feeling burnout or that you can’t delegate or trust your team to deliver. These problems and other leadership challenges can be addressed by shifting how you show up as a leader, and music is the catalyst. Drawing on neuroscience and leadership research, Drumm’s process uses the power of music to, first, help you recognize when an old, detrimental neural pathway (the old playlist, established by childhood wounds) is activated and, second, guide you to strengthen a new neural pathway (a new playlist). This book will help you: • Make better decisions instead of defaulting to old neural pathways • Attract others who are as committed as you are to a mission • Scale your business more efficiently and effectively by influencing and inspiring instead of defending and controlling With newfound freedom from the weight of the old playlist, you will unleash energy to focus on a meaningful mission, find more joy, and lead in a way that brings out the best in others.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Children in today's world are inundated with information about who to be, what to do and how to live. But what if there was a way to teach children how to manage priorities, focus on goals and be a positive influence on the world around them? The Leader in Meis that programme. It's based on a hugely successful initiative carried out at the A.B. Combs Elementary School in North Carolina. To hear the parents of A. B Combs talk about the school is to be amazed. In 1999, the school debuted a programme that taught The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Peopleto a pilot group of students. The parents reported an incredible change in their children, who blossomed under the programme. By the end of the following year the average end-of-grade scores had leapt from 84 to 94. This book will launch the message onto a much larger platform. Stephen R. Covey takes the 7 Habits, that have already changed the lives of millions of people, and shows how children can use them as they develop. Those habits -- be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek to understand and then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw -- are critical skills to learn at a young age and bring incredible results, proving that it's never too early to teach someone how to live well.

Book The Masked Church

  • Author : Charlie Lightsey
  • Publisher : WestBow Press
  • Release : 2021-06-15
  • ISBN : 166423456X
  • Pages : 217 pages

Download or read book The Masked Church written by Charlie Lightsey and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-06-15 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much of today’s Church is masked, in fear that something is “out there lurking,” while oblivious of their identity and delegated authority, and blatant denial or prideful dismissal of hypocritically masked carnal appetites Holy Spirit seeks permission to help crucify. As we yield daily in true repentance, masks are lifted to reveal eye-opening Truth. Through constant communion in Abiding Presence we relinquish the right to prodigally do as we please, and grant Him permission to help crucify appetites that’ve stamped a visible watermark. Otherwise, the realm of darkness appeals to appetites and inclinations, entices “WHEN moments,” and tempts us to trespass the line of demarcation into sin. As we welcome Presence to rest upon, to stir Presence within, carnal appetites lose their appeal as Christ is progressively formed in us and we embrace Jesus’ co-missioned compelling Christ Mandate to present a Kingdom response to all matters, and carry, discern, release and convey Presence in our homes, workplace and marketplace. Jesus was only “tested” in all matters as we, in thought, yet the Masked Church has traditionally considered everything temptation based on our inclination to sin. Jesus had no such inclination because of kratos strength He’d developed to initially resist temptation with the Word, then totally avoid temptation with an Empowered Immunity upon presentation as Christ. Where there’s no appetite and subsequently no inclination, there’s no temptation, only tests! Through watching and praying in Abiding Presence, kratos progressively develops Jesus’ Resurrection Immunity to carnal appetites and temptation. Come join the lifelong journey to live in constant communion with Holy Spirit and put your soul and flesh in subjection to your spirit. Just as Jesus didn’t select a single disciple from among the religiously masked of His day, neither will He return for a hypocritically Masked Church in the Rapture.

Book Secular Music Sacred Space

Download or read book Secular Music Sacred Space written by April Stace and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2017-06-13 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Easter Sunday, 2009, was the Sunday heard ‘round the evangelical internet: NewSpring Church, the second-largest church in the Southern Baptist Convention and among the top one hundred largest churches in the US, had begun their service with the song “Highway to Hell” by hard rock band AC/DC. They had brazenly crossed the sacred/secular musical divide on the most important Sunday of the year, and commentary abounded on the value of such a step. Many were offended at the “desecration” of such a holy day, deriding Newspring as the “theater of the absurd.” Others cheered NewSpring’s engagement with “the culture” and suggested that music could be used to convert non-Christians. No mere debate over stylistic preferences, many expressed that foundational aspects of evangelical identity were at stake. While many books have been written about religious music that utilizes popular music styles (a.k.a. “contemporary Christian music”), there has yet to be a scholarly treatment of how and why popular, secular music is utilized by churches. This book addresses that lacuna by examining this emerging trend in evangelical and “emerging” churches in America. What is the motivation behind using music that seemingly has no connection to Christian theology, values, or themes—such as music by Katy Perry, AC/DC, or Van Halen—and what can we learn about post-denominational evangelical churches in America by uncovering these motives? In this book, April Stace uncovers several themes from an ethnographic study of these churches: the increasingly-porous boundary between the sacred and the secular, the importance placed on “authenticity” in contemporary American culture, how evangelicals are responding to what they perceive is an increasingly-secular society, the “turn to the subject” of contemporary culture, the desire to leave a space for expression of doubt in the worship service without fully authorizing that doubt, and the individualization of the construction of religious identity in the modern era.

The beauty here lies in the elegance of the solutions which actually make the (business) world a better place and how we are able to solve multiple challenges in one go. Think of a waste incarnation plant which doubles as ski hill. Or think of new solutions for care: an eldery home, combined with children day care and an animal farm, where all parties benefit from the combination. These are real cases where the total (combination) is clearly more than the sum of its parts. This book serves as a manual and toolbox and outlines how leaders can become "ideaDJs". A perfect ideaDJ mix consists of beauty, value and impact. By creating beauty, the solutions have more elegance in their implementation. It adds more value to all stakeholders, not just shareholders. And finally, the solutions create more sustainable and scalable impact. Besides many exciting examples, this book contains a clear methodology and tool kits.
