Book The Law of Bank Collections Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Law of Bank Collections Classic Reprint written by Arthur William Selover and published by . This book was released on 2015-06-30 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Law of Bank Collections It has been the aim of the author to make this work an accurate and exhaustive treatise on the law of bank collections, and with that end in view, he has endeavored to consult and incorporate all the decisions on this important branch of banking law. It is believed that the importance of the subject justifies the labor required to follow out such a mode of treatment, and it is hoped that the result is a book which shall be of practical service to both lawyer and banker. The treatment which the subject of bank collections has received heretofore in general works on banks and banking is incomplete and inadequate in many respects. A great deal of the law on the subject is comparatively new, and necessitates, in some cases, a modification or a complete change of old rules and principles. Special care has been taken to determine and state the true relation between the collecting bank and its customer, for many of the difficulties encountered in this branch of the law are traceable to a misconception of the relation between the parties. Book Handbook of the Law of Banks and Banking Classic Reprint

Download or read book Handbook of the Law of Banks and Banking Classic Reprint written by FRANCIS B. TIFFANY and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-07-24 with total page 684 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Handbook of the Law of Banks and Banking The object of this book is to present the law of the subject in brief compass, in accordance with the plan of the Hornbook Series. The author has had in view, however, that the sub ject is one that concerns rather practitioners than law stu dents, and for this reason he has covered many questions in the text and notes that might have been omitted, had the book been intended primarily for law students, and he nas made a fuller citation of the decisions than he would other wise have done. The fundamental part of the law of banks and banking relates to the various transactions between banks and bankers and those dealing with them. The author has not entered upon the field of corporation law, except so far as the law of banking corporations seemed to require special discussion, and he has not dealt with the varying statutory provisions of the different states respecting banking corpora tions; but he has endeavored to cover the field of national banks and the National Bank Act, so far as it is affected by the decisions. The National Bank Act and other provisions of the federal statutes relating to national banks are printed in an Appendix, with historical and explanatory notes pre pared by the editorial staff of the publishers. When treating of questions concerning checks and other negotiable instru ments, the author has referred to the Negotiable Instruments Law, and has pointed out the not infrequent changes intro duced by it. Book A Treatise on the Law Relating to Bankers and Banking Classic Reprint

Download or read book A Treatise on the Law Relating to Bankers and Banking Classic Reprint written by James Grant and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-11 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Treatise on the Law Relating to Bankers and Banking These pages are the result of an endeavour to compile the Law relating to the business of Banking, as gathered as well from Statutes as from the decisions at Common Law, in Equity and in Bankruptcy. A work on such a plan, if properly executed, seems to be wanting, and the Author trusts that his attempt to supply the void will not prove wholly unacceptable to the class of persons for whose use it is principally designed - the professional advisers of the great Banking interest of this country. The first duty, it is conceived, of any one who deals with a subject of so great importance, and such general interest, is to aim solely and entirely, to the exclusion of all other purposes, at practical utility; accordingly from his book the Author has carefully excluded all ambitious attempts at scientific disquisition: the endeavour has been not to speculate how the Law might be improved, not to lay down what it ought to be, but what it is; so that every one, whether concerned for a person carrying on the business of Banking solely, or in a Common Law partnership, whether a shareholder or director in a Banking Copartnership, under Statute 7 Geo. IV., or in a Joint Stock Company under Stat. 7 & 8 of the Queen, might find here the Law, so far as it has hitherto been prescribed by statutory enactment, or developed, ascertained and explained by judicial decisions, clearly, accurately, and usefully stated. Book The Law of Deposits Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Law of Deposits Classic Reprint written by Fred W. Weitzel and published by . This book was released on 2015-09-27 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Law of Deposits This volume is prepared for the special use of bankers and their assistants, the bank clerks, whose sincere and active ambition to improve in efficiency never lags, but whose time is so much occupied with the duties crowded upon them that a general law course is impracticable, while the average law book is incomprehensible. It is hoped that business men will also find it useful. The author's purpose has been to make a clear statement of the principles governing the law of deposits, explain statutes and, where there is a conflict, indicate to the reader in each state the law in his jurisdiction or the better practice to follow in view of the conflict. Some cases are cited, a reading of which will be profitable; but a general annotation has been omitted, as it would confuse more than enlighten. Most cases cited will be found to be annotated in the reports, and in the National Reporter System the last case is a key to all earlier ones. While the writer has referred to the standard works on the law of banking, such as Morse, Zane, Bolles and others, he has based most of his statements herein on the decisions of the courts as found in the reports of the cases themselves. It is believed that the statements are fully sustained by the authorities. If the volume is found practical and useful by the banker the author will be more than satisfied. If the legal profession finds it reliable, he will feel well repaid for his labor. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
