What should we say if it were told us that the great society does nothing in the way of relief, except in the smaller of the areas of suffering? Why weaken the good work by taking away so many of the members from a place where they are so badly wanted, and placing them in a spot where although there is plenty of scone, they must not labor for the cause! In the case of Phillip when he went down to Samaria, when he was under the spirit of Elias, he baptized both men and women. It was passed upon by a committee under appointment from the First Presidency, and therefore comes to the public strongly recommended. The following observation is made by Professor Widtsoe in his Foreword: The brief treatment of the Restoration of the Gospel herewith presented to the public is not intended to be in any wise a history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is at most a story of the Restoration. It presumes at the outset that some thing has been restored. It relates how this something was restored.
