But, of course, he would always be drawn to the river's edge; to the wharfs where the ship's pilots, the dockworkers, the crane operators, and the truck drivers kept the cargo ticking over. In the end, he was there when the first demolition crews moved in to dismantle the iconic grain silos on the South Jetties.
