Download or read book The Unseen Realm written by Heiser, Michael S. and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 820 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Unseen Realm, Dr. Michael Heiser examines the ancient context of Scripture, explaining how its supernatural worldview can help us grow in our understanding of God. He illuminates intriguing and amazing passages of the Bible that have been hiding in plain sight. You'll find yourself engaged in an enthusiastic pursuit of the truth, resulting in a new appreciation for God's Word. Why wasn't Eve surprised when the serpent spoke to her? How did descendants of the Nephilim survive the flood? Why did Jacob fuse Yahweh and his Angel together in his prayer? Who are the assembly of divine beings that God presides over? In what way do those beings participate in God's decisions? Why do Peter and Jude promote belief in imprisoned spirits? Why does Paul describe evil spirits in terms of geographical rulership? Who are the "glorious ones" that even angels dare not rebuke? After reading this book, you may never read your Bible the same way again. Endorsements "There is a world referred to in the Scripture that is quite unseen, but also quite present and active. Michael Heiser's The Unseen Realm seeks to unmask this world. Heiser shows how important it is to understand this world and appreciate how its contribution helps to make sense of Scripture. The book is clear and well done, treating many ideas and themes that often go unseen themselves. With this book, such themes will no longer be neglected, so read it and discover a new realm for reflection about what Scripture teaches." --Darrell L. Bock, Executive Director for Cultural Engagement, Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies, Howard G. Hendricks Center for Christian Leadership and Cultural Engagement "'How was it possible that I had never seen that before?' Dr. Heiser's survey of the complex reality of the supernatural world as the Scriptures portray it covers a subject that is strangely sidestepped. No one is going to agree with everything in his book, but the subject deserves careful study, and so does this book." --John Goldingay, David Allan Hubbard Professor of Old Testament, School of Theology, Fuller Theological Seminary "This is a 'big' book in the best sense of the term. It is big in its scope and in its depth of analysis. Michael Heiser is a scholar who knows Scripture intimately in its ancient cultural context. All--scholars, clergy, and laypeople--who read this profound and accessible book will grow in their understanding of both the Old and New Testaments, particularly as their eyes are opened to the Bible's 'unseen world.'" --Tremper Longman III, Robert H. Gundry Professor of Biblical Studies, Westmont College

Book Understanding End Times Prophecy

Download or read book Understanding End Times Prophecy written by Paul N. Benware and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

Book The Wise Shall Understand

Download or read book The Wise Shall Understand written by Charles Huntley Clever and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2009-04 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Bible has only one encrypted part that says: "The words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end" (Daniel 12:9). The author read many different Bible translations from "Genesis" to "Revelation" searching for the hidden "key" to open that last-day Bible-code. Discovering the "key" in 1974, he realized it was hidden because it applies today-especially for this significant time of history. It not only proves Jesus is the Messiah, the "sacrificial Lamb of God" and identifies the Abomination of Desolation that Christ warned us of, but defines the exact boundaries of earth's participation in the cosmic conflict between good and evil-these points are greatly misunderstood and subjects of controversy among most major religions. One minister who read an advanced copy of The Wise Shall Understand said: "We have been reading the Bible with grandpa's glasses on." How true! And this author requests you read this publication with spiritual enlightenment, allowing God to impress you with facts that have been overlooked yet are validated in the Bible. Today our society is overwhelmed with hatred, agnosticism, rebellion, atheism, and "a zeal for God but not according to godliness." World condition mandates this important message be made available to the public so the author paused in his missionary work in Latin America to have it published in book form.

Book The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet

Download or read book The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet written by Robert Johns and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, controversy has raged over the authorship and genuineness of the book of Daniel. Is it an authentic document from the sixth century before the Common Era with a message from God to postexilic Israel; or is it a forged document written centuries later to encourage Israelites being oppressed by the Seleucid king, Antiochus Epiphanes? Robert Johns addresses these issues and more in his thesis on Daniel's visions. Importantly, Johns establishes when Daniel was provided with his visions, and he defines why God provided Daniel with the visions. The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet examines the metal image, the beast with eleven horns, the Seventy "sevens," chapter eight's little-horn, and the 2,300 evening-mornings. It demonstrates that the enigmatic 1,290 days and 1,335 days are anything but enigmatic, and it identifies the reason why Daniel's fifth and final revelation is so detailed. Appendices address issues of general nature, such as the historicity of Jesus the Christ, the popularity of dispensationalism, the identity of "the abomination that desolates," and the integrity of novels representing the Christian-fiction genre (which focus on a seven-year tribulation period at the end of history). This book will be of value to every Christian who has an interest in Bible prophecy and eschatology.

Download or read book The Clear and Present Truth of the 2300 1260 1290 and 1335 Day Prophecies written by Tory Alan St. Cyr and published by Tory Stcyr. This book was released on 2021-05-05 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Daniel is unique from all other prophetic books of the Bible. What makes this book so unique is that it contains more time-based prophecies than any other book in Scripture. For centuries, Bible scholars have debated the time-based prophecies found in Daniel. Some scholars believe these prophecies will all be fulfilled in the future; others believe they were fulfilled in the past. The question we should really ask ourselves is-When does the Bible say they were fulfilled? If you've been struggling to understand the meaning of the 2300-day prophecy and the Cleansing of the Sanctuary, this book is for you. If you're curious to know what occurred during the 1260-year prophecy, this book will reveal it to you. If you've always had questions about the 1290-day prophecy, the answers are in this book. Finally, if the 1335-day prophecy has always eluded your understanding, you should read the last chapter of this book. God has not left us in the dark! The Clear and Present Truth of the 2300, 1260, 1290, and 1335-Day Prophecies is the eye-opener for which we've been waiting!

Book Daniel

  • Author : Ralph F. Wilson
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2015-09-01
  • ISBN : 9780996202510
  • Pages : 194 pages

Download or read book Daniel written by Ralph F. Wilson and published by . This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disciples need to study Daniel afresh. The Book of Daniel is both familiar and mysterious. You find the stories of the Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, Daniel in the Lions' Den, and the Handwriting on the Wall. But the book also contains visions of beasts and horns and kings that predict the future from Daniel's time all the way to the Second Coming of Christ. Daniel is foundational to the New Testament for three reasons: 1.The "Son of Man" that Jesus takes as his own title, is drawn directly from Daniel 7:13-14. As you understand Daniel's prophecy, you begin to comprehend Jesus' origins, authority, self-understanding, and mission. 2.Kingdom of God. The coming of the all-encompassing Kingdom of God has strong roots in Daniel's visions. This Kingdom is at the very core of Jesus' teaching. 3.Daniel's eschatology, his visions of the End Time, are echoed in the predictions of Jesus himself, of Paul the Apostle, and in the Book of Revelation. We'll look at the Book of Daniel in the light of New Testament revelation. However, the author says, "I don't have Daniel's visions of the Last Days all figured out, and I am leery of those who seem to be able to fit everything together perfectly." Daniel is like a jigsaw puzzle with some pieces missing. Though the main outlines are clear, some details can't be discerned at present. The task of this book is to help you understand what Daniel does teach, pros and cons of various interpretations of the key prophecies, to let you know where the author comes out and why, and to give you some sense of a level of certainty. This book is intended for study as well as instruction, presented in nine lessons. Each chapter concludes with a summary of lessons for disciples to ponder. Helpful thought and discussion questions make it useful for personal enrichment and by small groups and classes. Extensive research contained in the footnotes makes it a goldmine for teachers and a boon to preachers involved in sermon preparation.
