Book The Kurzweil Henstock Integral for Undergraduates

Download or read book The Kurzweil Henstock Integral for Undergraduates written by Alessandro Fonda and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-11-11 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This beginners' course provides students with a general and sufficiently easy to grasp theory of the Kurzweil-Henstock integral. The integral is indeed more general than Lebesgue's in RN, but its construction is rather simple, since it makes use of Riemann sums which, being geometrically viewable, are more easy to be understood. The theory is developed also for functions of several variables, and for differential forms, as well, finally leading to the celebrated Stokes–Cartan formula. In the appendices, differential calculus in RN is reviewed, with the theory of differentiable manifolds. Also, the Banach–Tarski paradox is presented here, with a complete proof, a rather peculiar argument for this type of monographs.

Book Generalized Ordinary Differential Equations

Download or read book Generalized Ordinary Differential Equations written by Jaroslav Kurzweil and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2012 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explores the basics of social policy and program analysis, such as designing new programs or evaluating and improving existing ones. Social Policy and Social Programs is distinctive in providing specific criteria for judging the effectiveness of social policies and programs. These criteria can be applied to the analysis of widely different social services such as counseling and therapeutic services, supportive assistance, and "hard" benefits like food stamps, cash, and housing vouchers. By focusing especially on social problems, policies, and programs in major practice areas like child welfare, health, poverty, and mental illness, the author provides students with the tools they need to understand and evaluate the programs in which they are doing their field placements. Upon completing this book readers will be able to: Analyze the effectiveness of current social programs Create new programs based on the criteria provided Apply what they have learned to evaluate their field placement programs Note: MySearchLab does not come automatically packaged with this text. Book Integration Between the Lebesgue Integral and the Henstock Kurzweil Integral

Download or read book Integration Between the Lebesgue Integral and the Henstock Kurzweil Integral written by Jaroslav Kurzweil and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main topics of this book are convergence and topologization. Integration on a compact interval on the real line is treated with Riemannian sums for various integration bases. General results are specified to a spectrum of integrations, including Lebesgue integration, the Denjoy integration in the restricted sense, the integrations introduced by Pfeffer and by Bongiorno, and many others. Morever, some relations between integration and differentiation are made clear. The book is self-contained. It is of interest to specialists in the field of real functions, and it can also be read by students, since only the basics of mathematical analysis and vector spaces are required.

Book Theories of Integration

Download or read book Theories of Integration written by Douglas S. Kurtz and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2004 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a historical development of the integration theories of Riemann, Lebesgue, Henstock-Kurzweil, and McShane, showing how new theories of integration were developed to solve problems that earlier theories could not handle. It develops the basic properties of each integral in detail and provides comparisons of the different integrals. The chapters covering each integral are essentially independent and can be used separately in teaching a portion of an introductory course on real analysis. There is a sufficient supply of exercises to make the book useful as a textbook.

Book Radical Theory of Rings

Download or read book Radical Theory of Rings written by J.W. Gardner and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-11-19 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Radical Theory of Rings distills the most noteworthy present-day theoretical topics, gives a unified account of the classical structure theorems for rings, and deepens understanding of key aspects of ring theory via ring and radical constructions. Assimilating radical theory's evolution in the decades since the last major work on rings and radicals was published, the authors deal with some distinctive features of the radical theory of nonassociative rings, associative rings with involution, and near-rings. Written in clear algebraic terms by globally acknowledged authorities, the presentation includes more than 500 landmark and up-to-date references providing direction for further research.

Book Graph Algebras and Automata

Download or read book Graph Algebras and Automata written by Andrei Kelarev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-07-08 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Graph algebras possess the capacity to relate fundamental concepts of computer science, combinatorics, graph theory, operations research, and universal algebra. They are used to identify nontrivial connections across notions, expose conceptual properties, and mediate the application of methods from one area toward questions of the other four. After a concentrated review of the prerequisite mathematical background, Graph Algebras and Automata defines graph algebras and reveals their applicability to automata theory. It proceeds to explore assorted monoids, semigroups, rings, codes, and other algebraic structures and to outline theorems and algorithms for finite state automata and grammars.

Book Infinite Divisibility of Probability Distributions on the Real Line

Download or read book Infinite Divisibility of Probability Distributions on the Real Line written by Fred W. Steutel and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-10-03 with total page 562 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Infinite Divisibility of Probability Distributions on the Real Line reassesses classical theory and presents new developments, while focusing on divisibility with respect to convolution or addition of independent random variables. This definitive, example-rich text supplies approximately 100 examples to correspond with all major chapter topics and reviews infinite divisibility in light of the central limit problem. It contrasts infinite divisibility with finite divisibility, discusses the preservation of infinite divisibility under mixing for many classes of distributions, and investigates self-decomposability and stability on the nonnegative reals, nonnegative integers, and the reals.
