Book A Fork in the Road

Download or read book A Fork in the Road written by D. D. Hulse and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-08 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In my travels across the country, the question asked most frequently is how I went from being a fundamentalist preacher to being a developer of healing techniques using tuning forks. This book is the story of that journey. I feel honored yet humbled to be among those rising to the call to facilitate the new 5th Dimensional energy coming into our third dimensional time/space continuum. Come with me as we journey step by step through my search for answers. After looking at what I refer to in this book as my Fork in the Road, a new truth was born - a truth that provides answers for the Spirit, Mind, and Body. I will share information concerning self-healing using sound, vibration, and frequencies that can clear, cleanse, balance, and focus our lives in all its forms. The ancient Solfeggio frequencies are part of a process that can assist us in creating the possibility of lives without stress, illness, and sickness. Together we will go to the cutting edge of scientific discoveries regarding sound and healing. This book is also a call for Lightworkers to gather in this crucial time of change and transformation on the planet. Join me and others who do not live in fear of the future. Just tune your inner ear and listen to these wonderful new ideas as I share the techniques of working with sound and, more specifically, the Solfeggio tuning forks. My hope is that we can all find the harmonics of our own individual music, and that through this process we will be enabled to live balanced lives.

Book The Solfeggio Tradition

Download or read book The Solfeggio Tradition written by Nicholas Baragwanath and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book is the first study of the solfeggio tradition, which was fundamental to the training of European musicians, c. 1680-1830. It addresses one of the last major gaps in historical research on 18th-century performance and pedagogy. The method flourished in Italian conservatories for disadvantaged children, especially at Naples. The presence of large manuscript collections in European archives (almost 300 in Italy alone) testifies to the importance of this kind of exercise. Drawing on research into over a thousand manuscript sources, the book reconstructs the way that professional musicians in Europe learned and thus conceived the fundamentals of music. It reveals an approach that differs radically from modern assumptions. Solfeggi underpinned an art of melody that allowed practitioners to improvise and compose fluently. Part I provides contextual information on apprenticeship, the church music industry, its associated schools, and the continued significance of plainchant to music education. Part II reconstructs the real lessons of an apprentice over the course of three or four years, from spoken to sung solfeggio. Part III surveys the primary sources, classifying solfeggi into four main types and outlining their historical origins, characteristic features, and pedagogical purposes"--

Book Instrumental Music in Late Eighteenth Century Naples

Download or read book Instrumental Music in Late Eighteenth Century Naples written by Anthony R. DelDonna and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-12-17 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The music of early modern Naples and its renowned artistic traditions remain a fruitful area for scholars in eighteenth-century studies. Contemporary social, political, and artistic conditions had stimulated a significant growth of music, musicians and culture in the Kingdom of Naples from the beginning of the seventeenth century. Although eighteenth-century Neapolitan opera is well documented in scholarship, historians have paid much less attention to the simultaneous cultivation of instrumental genres. Yet the culture of instrumental music grew steadily and by its end became an exclusive area of focus for the royal court, a remarkable departure from past norms of patronage. By bridging this gap, Anthony R. DelDonna brings together diverse fields, including historical musicology, music theory, Neapolitan and European history. His book investigates the wide-ranging role of instrumental genres within late eighteenth-century Neapolitan culture and introduces readers to new material, including recently discovered instrumental works of Paisiello, Cimarosa and Pleyel.

Book The Art of Partimento

    Book Details:
  • Author : Giorgio Sanguinetti
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2012-04-03
  • ISBN : 0199908990
  • Pages : 400 pages

Download or read book The Art of Partimento written by Giorgio Sanguinetti and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2012-04-03 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the height of the Enlightenment, four conservatories in Naples stood at the center of European composition. Maestros taught their students to compose with unprecedented swiftness and elegance using the partimento, an instructional tool derived from the basso continuo that encouraged improvisation as the path to musical fluency. Although the practice vanished in the early nineteenth century, its legacy lived on in the music of the next generation. In The Art of Partimento, performer and music-historian Giorgio Sanguinetti chronicles the history of this long-forgotten Neapolitan art. Sanguinetti has painstakingly reconstructed the oral tradition that accompanied these partimento manuscripts, now scattered throughout Europe. Beginning with the origins of the partimento in the circles of Corelli, Pasquini, and Alessandro Scarlatti in Rome and tracing it through the peak of the tradition in Naples, The Art of Partimento gives a glimpse into the daily life and work of an eighteenth century composer. The Art of the Partimento is also a complete practical handbook to reviving the tradition today. Step by step, Sanguinetti guides the aspiring composer through elementary realization to more advanced exercises in diminution, imitation, and motivic coherence. Based on the teachings of the original masters, Sanguinetti challenges the reader to become a part of history, providing a variety of original partimenti in a range of genres, forms, styles, and difficulty levels along the way and allowing the student to learn the art of the partimento for themselves at their own pace. As both history and practical guide, The Art of Partimento presents a new and innovative way of thinking about music theory. Sanguinetti's unique approach unites musicology and music theory with performance, which allows for a richer and deeper understanding than any one method alone, and offers students and scholars of composition and music theory the opportunity not only to understand the life of this fascinating tradition, but to participate in it as well.
