Book Proceedings Of The V Wigner Symposium

Download or read book Proceedings Of The V Wigner Symposium written by Peter Kasperkovitz and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1998-06-30 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Wigner Symposia deal with the most recent developments in those mathematical areas which were introduced to physics by E P Wigner, and also with related fields. The central themes of the proceedings of the 5th Wigner Symposium (WigSym5) are quantum algebras and groups, group-theoretical developments, quantum field theory and geometry, and phase space formulations of quantum mechanics. The proceedings also contain papers on the application of these techniques in various branches of physics, and many contributions in which fundamental mathematical and epistemological questions related to the foundations of quantum theory are discussed.

Book Proceedings of the Fourth German Japanese Symposium Infinite Dimensional Harmonic Analysis IV

Download or read book Proceedings of the Fourth German Japanese Symposium Infinite Dimensional Harmonic Analysis IV written by Joachim Hilgert and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Fourth Conference on Infinite Dimensional Harmonic Analysis brought together experts in harmonic analysis, operator algebras and probability theory. Most of the articles deal with the limit behavior of systems with many degrees of freedom in the presence of symmetry constraints. This volume gives new directions in research bringing together probability theory and representation theory.

Book Calogero Moser Sutherland Models

Download or read book Calogero Moser Sutherland Models written by Jan F. van Diejen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 572 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the 1970s F. Calogero and D. Sutherland discovered that for certain potentials in one-dimensional systems, but for any number of particles, the Schrödinger eigenvalue problem is exactly solvable. Until then, there was only one known nontrivial example of an exactly solvable quantum multi-particle problem. J. Moser subsequently showed that the classical counterparts to these models is also amenable to an exact analytical approach. The last decade has witnessed a true explosion of activities involving Calogero-Moser-Sutherland models, and these now play a role in research areas ranging from theoretical physics (such as soliton theory, quantum field theory, string theory, solvable models of statistical mechanics, condensed matter physics, and quantum chaos) to pure mathematics (such as representation theory, harmonic analysis, theory of special functions, combinatorics of symmetric functions, dynamical systems, random matrix theory, and complex geometry). The aim of this volume is to provide an overview of the many branches into which research on CMS systems has diversified in recent years. The contributions are by leading researchers from various disciplines in whose work CMS systems appear, either as the topic of investigation itself or as a tool for further applications.

Book Computational Chemistry And Chemical Engineering Proceedings Of The Third Unam cray Supercomputing Confrence

Book Partial Differential Equations Of First Order And Their Applications To Physics 2nd Edition

Download or read book Partial Differential Equations Of First Order And Their Applications To Physics 2nd Edition written by Lopez Velazquez Gustavo and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2012-03-21 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tries to point out the mathematical importance of the Partial Differential Equations of First Order (PDEFO) in Physics and Applied Sciences. The intention is to provide mathematicians with a wide view of the applications of this branch in physics, and to give physicists and applied scientists a powerful tool for solving some problems appearing in Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Optics, and General Relativity. This book is intended for senior or first year graduate students in mathematics, physics, or engineering curricula. This book is unique in the sense that it covers the applications of PDEFO in several branches of applied mathematics, and fills the theoretical gap between the formal mathematical presentation of the theory and the pure applied tool to physical problems that are contained in other books.Improvements made in this second edition include corrected typographical errors; rewritten text to improve the flow and enrich the material; added exercises in all chapters; new applications in Chapters 1, 2, and 5 and expanded examples.

Book Unfolding the Matter of Nuclei

Download or read book Unfolding the Matter of Nuclei written by Società italiana di fisica and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The nucleus and its constituents are a challenging problem. The lectures collected in this book present a broad and comprehensive review of the current knowledge about nuclei. They cover topics such as searching for signatures of the quarks in nuclei with electromagnetic probes and, at much higher energies, for signatures of the quark-gluon plasma in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions. The attempts to obtain new nuclei in the laboratory are also discussed, as well as the central role played by nuclear physics in the development of weak interactions. Progress in all these areas rests on a deeper theoretical handling of the nuclear and nucleon’s structure. The latter can also be addressed by relying on numerical solutions of QCD on a discrete space-time lattice. The advancement of computational capabilities has spurred a growing interest in this approach. Finally, the book deals with different paths toward solving non-perturbative QCD.
