Book The Ion Exchange Properties of Cerium IV Compounds

Download or read book The Ion Exchange Properties of Cerium IV Compounds written by G. G. Rocco and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ion exchange properties of ceric phosphate were investigated including rates of reaction, distribution coefficients of alkali metals, capacity and column behavior of some elements. Ceric oxide was shown to possess anion exchange properties in acid solution and cation exchange properties in basic solution. The two compounds have properties analogous to, but not identical with, zirconium oxide and phosphate. Cesium and barium were successfully separated on a short column of ceric phosphate at room temperature. These inorganic ion-exchangers show promise of providing additional means for effecting and widening the scope of radiochemical separations, an important and necessary consideration in the radioactivation analysis, of trace elements in ultrapure materials. Book Ion Selective Electrode Reviews

Download or read book Ion Selective Electrode Reviews written by J. D. R. Thomas and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-05-04 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ion-Selective Electrode Reviews, Volume 3, provides a review of articles on ion-selective electrodes (ISEs). The volume begins with an article on methods based on titration procedures for surfactant analysis, which have been developed for discrete batch operation and for continuous AutoAnalyser use. Separate chapters deal with detection limits of ion-selective electrodes; the possibility of using inorganic ion-exchange materials as ion-sensors; and the effect of solvent on potentials of cells with ion-selective electrodes. Also included is a chapter on advances in calibration procedures, the development of long range sensors, and the use of ion-buffers for extending known calibration ranges—all of which are essential to obtaining and extending the linear ranges of ISEs. The final chapter presents a listing of titles covering topics such as electrode development and new electrodes; mechanistic and theoretical aspects; solution chemistry and ISEs; standard addition methods; potentiometric titrations; automatic analysis and continuous monitoring; and applications of ISEs.

Book Two Phosphorescences and Electron Transfer in Dye disulfhydryl Compound Complex

Download or read book Two Phosphorescences and Electron Transfer in Dye disulfhydryl Compound Complex written by Eiji Fujimori and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mercaptoethanol and dimercaptopropanol form a complex with a cationic dye. Two dyes interacting with two SH groups in the complex with dimercaptopropanol exhibit two different absorptions and two different phosphorescences. Each one of them, present at a shorter wave length, corresponds to an absorption and a phosphorescence of the complex with mercaptoethanol. The dye-dimercaptopropanol complex is more photosensitive than the dye-mercaptoethanol complex. A phototropism observed in the former complex is based on an electron transfer.

Book Magneto ionic Coupling in an Inhomogeneous Medium

Download or read book Magneto ionic Coupling in an Inhomogeneous Medium written by Yūji Inoue and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The propagation of electromagnetic waves in a horizontally stratified layer of gyrotropic medium is discussed. Derivation of a comprehensive representation for magneto-ionic coupling coefficients allows interpretation of the physical significance of the coupling. Introduction of an invariant quantity for an inhomogeneous medium becomes an important guide for numerical solutions of the wave equation. Numerical results of magneto-ionic coupling coefficients are presented. Based on region properties, characteristic wave types are defined: for the isotropic region, linearly polarized waves are used; for the anisotropic region, elliptically polarized waves generally are applied. Book 9 Dicyanomethylene 2 4 7 trinitrofluorene

Download or read book 9 Dicyanomethylene 2 4 7 trinitrofluorene written by Tapan K. Mukherjee and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper explains the differences and the reasons for the differences which exist between the theory of the zone-transport system of continuous zone refining as presented by W. G. Pfann and T. Abe. The identity between the mathematical model used to describe the zone-transport system and one of the models used to describe the recently reported matter-transport system is noted. Nondimensional equations for the zone-transport system are presented and the difference between the limit of alpha in the zone-void and zonetransport systems, when L sub e = 0, is correlated.
