Or was it brought into its present condition from a molten liquidity, as some of our geologists tell us? Mm, In answering flux questions, I propose to consider some of the latest theories which contemporary literature has placed before the world; and as these theories embrace several subjects which, though belonging to one great system, are called by various names, I shall devote a chapter to each. This book was released on 2017-10-22 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Journey to the Earth's Interior, or Have the Poles Really Been Discovered The Copernican system of astronomy was a step in advance of the Ptolemaic system just be cause it enabled scientists to discover many new facts about the solar system which the error of the old view had hidden from their gaze. My own theory adds to the valuable results gained by the Copernican System, not by subverting it - for I imagine that no sane person would now try to do that - but by accepting it fully, and adding to it a different theory of the evolution of the several planets from their nebulae, and from this new theory of evolution deducing cer tain presumptions about the interior of the earth. These presumptions I have supported by a wealth of facts discovered by the telescopic observations of astronomers of nebulae and one of our sister planets, Mars, and made by ex plorers of the most fascinating parts of our own planet - the polar regions. Book The Earth as a Whole Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Earth as a Whole Classic Reprint written by Ralph S. Tarr and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-08 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Earth as a Whole Its Form. - Hundreds of years ago, before America was discovered, men thought the earth was flat. They travelled so little that they had no idea of its form or of its size. A few men who had studied the matter believed that the earth was a round ball, and that if one travelled straight on in any direction, he would in time return to the place from which he started. You can understand this by pushing your finger around on the outside of an orange, until it comes back to the starting-point. Christopher Columbus believed this, and went to Spain, hoping to obtain money to secure ships for a long voyage to prove it. Men were at that time in the habit of going to a land, called India, for spices, Silks, and jewels. To reach India from Spain they travelled thousands of miles eastward; but Columbus said that if the earth were round, like a ball, India might be reached by going westward across the ocean, and the distance would be much less. He therefore asked the king of Spain for Ships and men to make such a journey. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We need changes in our attitudes, our understanding of illness, our acceptance of non-allopathic practitioners, the economics of how we pay for health care, and our entire professional medical-legal system in which medical boards often act within the law to protect and defend the guild of conventional medicine under the guise of 'scientific proof.'... I present a template that combines economics, psychology, medicine, physiology, and mythology. It can serve as support and guidance for making the changes necessary for a new model of medicine in the twenty-first century." --Dr. Robert J. Zieve Dr. Zieve presents a new paradigm for health care that shows us how to go beyond the limitations and severe deficiencies of our current sickness care system. It embraces and synthesizes the emerging models of integrative medicine, energy medicine, and energy psychology into an effective and affordable approach to healing for everyone. This guide is for both those wish to provide a more complete form of health care for their patients and also for those individuals who are prepared to make the necessary changes in daily life in order to initiate or maintain a movement toward healing. This includes understanding the daily disciplines of a healing process, the deeper psychological processes of illness, and the creative arts in their therapeutic roles.
