Book excerpt: You can go to church, listen to a sermon, sing songs or donate money without worshipping God in spirit and in truth. The author argues that genuine worship involves magnifying God from the heart. Worship is rejoicing in the goodness of the triune God. Abraham Kuyper wrote: "The assembled congregation is engaging in the practice of worship." This practice is not merely external. The author develops a biblical theology for authentic worship. He calls Christians to restore the family altar so that Christ is worshipped in covenant homes.

Book Hearing God in Conversation

Download or read book Hearing God in Conversation written by Sam Williamson and published by Kregel Publications. This book was released on 2016-06-27 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "I picked it up out of curiosity and I couldn’t put it down."--Eugene Peterson Christians are comfortable saying that Christianity is about a relationship with God. Yet many might also say that they sense little meaningful relationship with God in their own lives. After all, the foundation of good relationship is communication—-but conversation with God often seems to go only one way. We may sing of walking and talking with God in the garden, His voice falling on our ears, but few have heard that beloved voice themselves. Sam Williamson acknowledges the fundamental human longing to hear God’s voice and offers a hopeful supposition: God is always speaking—-we’ve just never been taught how to recognize His voice. Williamson handles this potentially heady topic with his characteristic straightforwardness and leavening humor. This book deftly bridges the gap between solid biblical theology and practical application, addressing topics such as how to truly pray without ceasing, how to brainstorm with God, how to navigate our emotions, how to answer God’s questions, and how to hear God’s voice for others. Hearing God in Conversation offers simple, step-by-step lessons on how to hear God. Williamson begins with Scripture meditation. He then expands the practice of listening for that voice everywhere—in the checkout line, on the job, in a movie theater, and even in silence. From there, he demonstrates how to hear God’s guidance when making any decision. By the end, readers’ eyes and ears will be opened to the limitless methods through which God speaks.

  • Release : 2019-11-16
  • ISBN : 9781708956585
  • Pages : 118 pages

Download or read book The Essence Of Worship written by Apostle Frequency Revelator and published by . This book was released on 2019-11-16 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is a typical scenario across the Body of Christ that dozens of believers claim to worship God yet they don't understand exactly what worship is. Some mistake praise for worship, while others attach worship to slow contempo songs while in the extreme end of scale, some mistake worship for the act of singing religious songs. It is disheartening to note that most believers have not fully comprehended the difference between praise and worship. The difference between praise and worship is that praise is an affirmation of God's works while worship is an affirmation of God's presence. We praise God for what He has done but we worship Him for who He is. In this publication, Apostle Frequency Revelator contends that Worship is in the heart of God and worship is what God wants us to do. This book presents a revelation of what real and true worship is, the key dimensions of worship, the levels and depths of worship as well as the ways of how to deepen our worship to God. It presents worship is a spiritual act of ascribing unto God the Almighty all the glory, honour and power due His name; the spiritual act of paying homage and reverence to God, acknowledging God as a Creator. It connotes to exalting God the almighty and expressing our love for Him in songs, words, prophetic actions and other sounds. Therefore, to worship God means to glorify Him for being just who He is; to adore and acknowledge that God is your all in all. Worship is all that we are responding to all that He is. It denotes the act of pouring our hearts out to God from the depths of our spirits or inner recesses of our being. It involves lifting up your heart, soul and body and voice to the Lord in adoration. In this publication, Apostle Frequency Revelator explores the divine truth that presenting yourself as a vessel of worship is the key to accessing the higher realms of God's glory. In worship, we experience the original atmosphere of the glory God intended us to be in with Him. Worship is an atmosphere or realm in which we were given birth to by God before His throne in Heaven. Therefore, when we worship God, we are home seek as we long to be in this very original atmosphere of glory He created us in. In worship, you are not concerned with the elements of matter because God becomes the matter you worship for without Him was not anything made that was made. He is everything that is and is to be, all the while waiting for us to simply worship who He is. Oxygen is to a natural man what worship correspondingly is to a spiritual man. During worship, God inhales our worship and He exhales His glory. In the very breath of God is where you will find the atmosphere ripe for the miraculous. That's where you find the supernatural mass that provokes a torrent of miracles, signs and wonders to break out, culminating in a perennial stream flow of praise and worship to the Father. The reading of this book will therefore catapult you to the highest realms of worship where your spirit will commune with God, causing you to tread in the most sacred territories of the glory realm.

Book The Essence and Power of Worship

Download or read book The Essence and Power of Worship written by Kingsley Chinweobi and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-12-22 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is God whether you acknowledge Him or not, He will remain God whether you worship Him or not. You don't worship God to make Him bigger, it is for your own good and purposeful advantage that you must worship God.Is it not surprising that God who created all people and all things desires that we worship Him, is it that God has some hidden agen-da? You will find out the essence of worship as you read on.Worship is fellowship and union of our spirit with the Spirit of the Lord. Worship is a lifestyle to those who have come to the place of understanding of how to practice the presence of the Lord. There is a unique way of life that you will come to embrace when you learn how to enjoy the presence of the Lord in the place of worship. The fullness of this maturity is gotten when you have gain understand-ing about the essence and power of worship. The lifestyle of worship has truly been the secret to the supernatu-ral in God's Kingdom. This is the secret operated by every true child of God that has ever walked in the supernatural, this is my secret too.It may surprise you to know that I didn't set out from the beginning to be a singer, I didn't even envisage that one day I will be writing about worship. It was intentional that I will be one of the greatest writers on the face of the earth, but I never knew many years ago that I will be writing this book or to be the man on whom so much responsibility to mentor worshippers and especially becoming the one on whom the responsibility of awakening the Spirit of worship in people will be resting on.I did not begin by learning or studying music in school and I didn't intend to up my profile by teaching about worship, this book came in as responsibility of teaching others what God has taught me, this book is designed to serve not just this generation but many genera-tions to come, especially to the generations I have been sent to.The little I can well remember was that I had a literal understanding of the power of music during my school days, but that knowledge too was limited. I knew somehow that music was a tool for prepar-ing and influencing the mind, and even when I became a high school undergraduate and studied religion, music was only a part of my four-years course. The rest can be credited to my walk with God and personal devel-opment through learning and practice of the lessons from my spir-itual parents, family members, mentors, friends, seminar sessions and great music teams. The journey of becoming a praise/worship leader, ardent teacher and Pastor that I am today started a long time ago. I started out as a young guy who loved studying the bible and good Christian books. I found peace reading about role models in the bible, for me it was mind blowing that men could have a personal walk with God in the manner they did. In the course of my studies I came across great leaders who had strong passion for worship and I learnt so much from them. Years rolled by and gradually I became a young man teaching in the Sun-day school classes and gradually I began taking the introduction to church meetings where I had no play route but only options to em-brace the opportunity to lead worship sessions; day after day and months after months. From practice of staying in God's presence a worshipper emerged. It turned out from casual singing into pro-phetic worshipping. We are all created with the spirit of worship inherent in us; there-fore, it is in our makeup to hunger and thirst after righteousness.

Book excerpt: A major new biography of Huldrych Zwingli—the warrior preacher who shaped the early Reformation Huldrych Zwingli (1484–1531) was the most significant early reformer after Martin Luther. As the architect of the Reformation in Switzerland, he created the Reformed tradition later inherited by John Calvin. His movement ultimately became a global religion. A visionary of a new society, Zwingli was also a divisive and fiercely radical figure. Bruce Gordon presents a fresh interpretation of the early Reformation and the key role played by Zwingli. A charismatic preacher and politician, Zwingli transformed church and society in Zurich and inspired supporters throughout Europe. Yet, Gordon shows, he was seen as an agitator and heretic by many and his bellicose, unyielding efforts to realize his vision would prove his undoing. Unable to control the movement he had launched, Zwingli died on the battlefield fighting his Catholic opponents.

Book Expository Exultation

Download or read book Expository Exultation written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2018-04-16 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “God has appointed preaching in worship as one great means of accomplishing his ultimate goal in the world.” —John Piper John Piper makes a compelling claim in these pages about the purpose of preaching: it is intended not merely as an explanation of the text but also as a means of awakening worship by being worship in and of itself. Christian preaching is a God-appointed miracle aiming to awaken the supernatural seeing, savoring, and showing of the glory of Christ. Distilling over forty years of experience in preaching and teaching, Piper shows preachers how and what to communicate from God’s Word, so that God’s purpose on earth will advance through Biblesaturated, Christ-exalting, God-centered preaching—in other words, expository exultation.

Book excerpt: Why is God's beauty often absent from our theology? Rarely do theologians take up the theme of God's beauty—even more rarely do they consider how God's beauty should shape the task of theology itself. But the psalmist says that the heart of the believer's desire is to behold the beauty of the Lord. In The Beauty of the Lord, Jonathan King restores aesthetics as not merely a valid lens for theological reflection, but an essential one. Jesus, our incarnate Redeemer, displays the Triune God's beauty in his actions and person, from creation to final consummation. How can and should theology better reflect this unveiled beauty? The Beauty of the Lord is a renewal of a truly aesthetic theology and a properly theological aesthetics.
