Book excerpt: Discover the healing power of hugs and how they can improve your life and your world in twnty-one days with this amazing guide. Dr. Stone’s prescription is for a twenty-one-second hug today and every day. One of the many benefits of hugging is that longer hugs have proven physiological benefits. Hugs are good for your immune system, your stress response, your sleep patterns, and so much more. Hug Therapy brings to life the meaning of hugging. In this book, you will discover: What it means to really, truly give yourself and others the profound gift of a hug How to be powerfully in action and more aware of what matters to you most That you may choose to begin hugging some strangers . . . with their blessing of course And perhaps most importantly, that together, one literal or metaphorical hug at a time, we make the world a better, healthier, and more connected place. Hug Therapy shares a full-on, unconditional hug from Dr. Stone Kraushaar. In this book, he invites you to wrap your arms around yourself, your life, and everyone around you in a whole new way. A good embrace?a hug?squeezes every ounce of fear, worry, and negativity out of your spirit, leaving you with nothing but warmth, inner peace, and a feeling of connection. Most people have difficulty remembering the last time someone gave them an all-encompassing hug. Hug Therapy encourages you to change that, one physical or metaphorical embrace at a time. It’s a “do good and feel great” book that will help you live more in the moment and stay tuned into what really matters. Praise for Hug Therapy “A re-envisioned, expanded, and brilliant twist that richly brings out the power of hugging in just 21 days. It teaches about the self-hug and how to bring it into one's outer circle, creating balance and harmony for the traveler.”?Kevin Zaborney, BA, MDiv, founder of National Hugging Day “Hug Therapy disrupts the simple act of a hug, turning it into a way to spark connection within you, your community, with strangers . . . and it may just end up bringing our planet to awareness of being one. Crazy, awesome hugs?of course you should become a part of this movement!”?Mich Hancock, co-founder of TEDxGatewayArch, host of MichMash Podcast

One evening Buddha wrapped her neck around an exhausted and upset Ellie and transferred a singular form of healing and comfort with an incredible impact. Understanding that this was something to be shared with others, Ellie developed Cow Hug Therapy, a groundbreaking approach to emotional healing that has proved effective for trauma, illness, disabilities, addiction, grief, and stress. This colorful and compelling narrative introduces the healing mavens of the barnyard, each with a unique story of being rescued from trauma and treated with love and respect. In their new role at Ellie’s Gentle Barn sanctuaries, these animals have transformed lives and ignited breakthroughs and newfound purpose for visitors including a young mother who lost her baby, a suicidal teenager, a wounded serviceman, an open-heart-surgery patient, and many more. A testament to empathy and the mission to heal animals, people, and the planet, Cow Hug Therapy serves as a beacon of hope for all seeking healing and connection.

Book Asking What No More Whys

Download or read book Asking What No More Whys written by Wilma Marler and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-05 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The story of being the victim of threats and related actions served as the predictor of my life journey. My writing about my anger at the outcome of that event led a professor to suggest I change my major from sociology to journalism. Although I did not heed that suggestion, I am following that advice now. I was trapped in my anger, and it seemed every day there was a new inquiry of why this or why that. In changing the question from why to what, I discovered God's reason for my journey. Questioning the reason for events elicits from God the response children are prone to get from parents "because I said so" or "because I am your parent." God is my Father, and I am His child. God received the same response that my parents received to that explanation: I chose to be angry. Once I learned that anger was my choice, God could patiently and lovingly lead me to my ministry. Two days after losing my sister to cancer, I understood the lesson. Being a minister is a title, or label. The "what" of my journey with God is to be available to minister to those individuals He places in my life. Through obedience to God, the "what" in my life became anger of motivation in my life. It was anger that taught me to ask what, and the lesson to be shared with others is start asking "what".
