She opened Los Angeles' first photographic art gallery, PHOTOSPHERE. She worked at Warner Brothers. She wrote cover stories for New York Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine and New West Magazine. She went around the world twice by herself, including Africa, India, Europe, South East Asia, China, Nepal and Burma. In Africa, she became involved with the foreign minister of the Polisario a Guerilla group fighting for their independence against Henry Kissinger's Green March. The US gave Morocco 2 million dollars a day in Napalm to exterminate the natives and steal the phosphates, the world largest deposit (outside of Russia) and other valuable minerals including silver, uranium, gold and oil to share the proceeds. She worked with the foreign minister in Africa and the UN representative and lobbied Washington to stop 2 million dollars a day worth of Napalm from United States to share the proceeds. She felt she "had to help stop this genocide." Through UN diplomacy and weapons stolen from their enemies, they won and the Western Sahara is now a country on the map and Kissinger failed at his attempt to land grab. A busy Waffle House, a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, inside an Uber on a Chicago street, readers are placed in various "film" locations and watch as America becomes a character in its own absurd movie. In one section, excerpted language from the continuity script of D.W. Griffith's 1915 The Birth of a Nation is juxtaposed with text from the January 6 congressional hearings, suggesting a fragile line between real and engineered brutality. Herd interrogates empire and the ways in which violence is consumed and normalized. The Stuff of Hollywood is an elegy for a country that never existed beyond the screen.
