Conspiracy looks at a range of the most interesting theories of this nature, from the risibly far-fetched, such as the belief that the world is run by the lizard people, to the only-too-true and tragic such as the overthrow and murder of Chilean President Salvador Allende.

It's a treasure trove for conspiracy buffs, a Griffin and Sabine for history lovers. Adapted from Decoded, Meltzer’s hit show on the HISTORY network, History Decoded explores fascinating, unexplained questions. Is Fort Knox empty? Why was Hitler so intent on capturing the Roman “Spear of Destiny”? What’s the government hiding in Area 51? Where did the Confederacy’s $19 million in gold and silver go at the end of the Civil War? And did Lee Harvey Oswald really act alone? Meltzer sifts through the evidence; weighs competing theories; separates what we know to be true with what’s still—and perhaps forever—unproved or unprovable; and in the end, decodes the mystery, arriving at the most likely solution. Along the way we meet Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Nazi propagandists, and the real DB Cooper. A riveting adventure through the compelling world of mysteries and conspiracies.

Book excerpt: This is an updated and revised edtion with new credible evidence, a multitude of highly respected academic source citations, new pictures, an updated bibliography, index and more, by archaeologist, historian, mythologist and linguist D. M. Murdock (writing earlier as Acharya S.). Murdock marshals an enormous amount of startling evidence to demonstrate that Christianity and the story of Jesus Christ were created by members of various secret societies, mystery schools and religions in order to unify the Roman Empire under one state religion. In developing such a fabrication, this multinational cabal drew upon a multitude of myths and rituals that existed long before the Christian era, and reworked them for centuries into the religion passed down to us today. Contrary to popular belief, there was no single man who was at the genesis of Christianity; Jesus was many characters rolled into one. These characters personified the ubiquitous solar myth, and their exploits were well known, as reflected by such popular deities as Mithras, Heracles/Hercules, Dionysos and many others throughout the Roman Empire and beyond. The story of Jesus as portrayed in the Gospels is revealed to be nearly identical in detail to that of the earlier savior-gods Krishna and Horus, who for millennia preceding Christianity held great favor with the people. The Christ Conspiracy shows the Jesus character as not unique or original, not "divine revelation." Christianity reinterprets the same extremely ancient body of knowledge that revolved around the celestial bodies and natural forces. The result of this myth making has been "The Greatest Conspiracy Ever Sold."

Book Conspiracy 101 An Authoritative Examination of the Greatest Conspiracies in American Politics

Download or read book Conspiracy 101 An Authoritative Examination of the Greatest Conspiracies in American Politics written by Paul Debole and published by Beaufort Books. This book was released on 2022-08-29 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For decades, society has viewed "conspiracy theorists" as people who live in their parents' basement, wearing baseball caps lined with aluminum to keep the Martian death rays away. But the truth is that conspiracies are not reserved for people with a tenuous grasp of reality; to some extent, we all want to know the unknowable. In Conspiracy 101, political science professor Paul DeBole delves into the why, how, and what of conspiracy theories: why humans are prone to believing--and spreading--misinformation; how the nature of our political institutions fosters distrust, paving the way for conspiracy theories to run rampant; and what we can do to filter out theories that are not based on fact, but rather hearsay, innuendo, or just a "strong feeling." He then breaks down the most notorious conspiracy theories in American politics, including the Lincoln kidnapping plot and his subsequent assassination, the possible escape and eventual suicide of John Wilkes Booth, the JFK assassination, the RFK assassination, Watergate, the Vast Right-Wing conspiracy, as well as modern-day conspiracies based on misinformation and "fake news."

Book World s Greatest Conspiracy Theories and Secret Societies

Download or read book World s Greatest Conspiracy Theories and Secret Societies written by Bernadine Christner and published by . This book was released on 2021-06-28 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explore the World's Greatest Conspiracy Theories From an Objective Point of View! There are two sides to every story, and the truth lies somewhere in the middle... Since the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the American public has become increasingly suspicious of its government's real intentions. They started believing that the US government is hiding the real truth and conspires against its own people. Ever since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on 11th of September 2001, we have witnessed the continuous rise of conspiracy theories. As they offer alternative explanations of real-life events, conspiracy theories are often filled with contradictions. The rise of the Internet has proved to be a fertile ground for developing conspiracy theories. While there are hundreds of websites on conspiracy theories online, not all of them offer credible information. As a result, the general public often dismisses conspiracy theories as unfounded or even bizarre. However, it is up to us to do our due diligence and investigate these claims. The book Conspiracy theories and secret societies offers an objective approach to this rather gloomy and dark subject matter. It is up to the reader to see these stories as words of astonishment or as words of warning. This book will offer you an objective insight into conspiracy theories concerning: - AIDS/HIV; - The Big Brother; - The X-Files; - Osama bin Laden; - Atlantis, and many more!
