Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Great Pyramid: Its Builder and Its Prophecy; With a Review of the Corresponding Prophecies of Scripture Relating to Coming Events and the Approaching End of the Age The limits of the book made it impossible for the Author to enter into a detailed interpretation of every feature of these prophecies, nor was it deemed necessary to do so, more especially with regard to those portions, the fulfilment of which has been fully explained by previous writers. With regard to the future literal fulfilment, the Author has ventured to make a forecast of certain future events relating especially to this country, the nature of which has hitherto been shrouded in Obscurity. This forecast is based on a care ful comparison of numerous prophecies throughout the Bible, and the arguments in support of it appear to be sound and worthy of consideration, but whether it is correct or not, the future alone can determine. Book excerpt: The Egyptologist acclaimed for re-dating the Great Sphinx at Giza sets his sights on one of the true mysteries of antiquity: the Great Pyramid of Giza. What is the Great Pyramid of Giza? Ask that basic question of a traditional Egyptologist, and you get the basic, traditional answer: a fancy tombstone for a self-important pharaoh of the Old Kingdom. This, Egyptologists argue, is the sole finding based on the data, and the only deduction supported by science. By implication, anyone who dissents from this point of view is unscientific and woolly-minded-a believer in magic and ghosts. Indeed, some of the unconventional ideas about the Great Pyramid do have a spectacularly fabulous ring to them. Yet from beneath the obvious terms of this controversy, a deeper, more significant question arises: how is it that the Great Pyramid exercises such a gripping hold on the human psyche- adding cryptic grace to the back of the one-dollar bill and framing myriad claims of New Age "pyramid power"? In Pyramid Quest, Robert M. Schoch and Robert Aquinas McNally use the rigorous intellectual analysis of scientific inquiry to investigate what we know about the Great Pyramid, and develop a stunning hypothesis: This ancient monument is the strongest proof yet that civilization began thousands of years earlier than is generally thought, extending far back into a little-known time. In tracing that story, we come to understand not only the Great Pyramid but also our own origins as civilized beings.

Book excerpt: In this volume Colonel Garnier shows that, when the symbolism of the Great Pyramid is interpreted in accordance with the principles of Scripture, its prophecy most remarkably corresponds with the prophecies of Scripture, which foretell the time of the termination of the present age. With regard to the future literal fulfillment, Garnier ventured to make a forecast of certain future events relating especially to Rome, the nature of which had hitherto been shrouded in obscurity. This forecast is based on a careful comparison of numerous prophecies throughout the Bible, and the arguments in support of it appear to be sound and worthy of consideration, but whether it is correct or not, the future alone can determine.

Book The Strange Case of The Angels of Mons

Download or read book The Strange Case of The Angels of Mons written by Richard J. Bleiler and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: World War I began disastrously for the English when the Germans routed them at Mons, Belgium, on August 23 and 24, 1914. On September 29, 1914, the Anglo-Welsh writer Arthur Machen fictionalized this encounter in a newspaper story, claiming that the English were saved by the appearance of angelic bowmen sent by St. George. But his fiction became accepted as fact. The believers--notables G. K. Chesterton, Arthur Conan Doyle and C. S. Lewis, along with almost forgotten figures like Harold Begbie, Phyllis Campbell and T. W. H. Crosland--wrote pamphlets, testimonies and poems, performed music and created motion pictures attesting to the existence of the guardian angels. This history of the Angels of Mons controversy for the first time collects and annotates Machen's work and the responses it inspired, most of which have not been available since their publication a century ago. Also reprinted for the first time are several of Machen's responses to the believers, including "The Angels of Mons: Absolutely My Last Word on the Subject" and "The Return of the Angels: This Time They Are at Ypres."

Book The Great Pyramid Prophecy in Stone

Download or read book The Great Pyramid Prophecy in Stone written by Noah Hutchings and published by Defender Publishing. This book was released on 2011-07 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Scriptures say that God established wonders in the land of Egypt. When was the Great Pyramid built? Who was the builder? Why was it built? These are questions that continue to be debated by archaeologists, astronomers, other scientists, and historians. The noted historian Josephus wrote that the Great Pyramid was built by the descendants of Seth, before the flood, to record the knowledge of the heavens. As brought out by the author, there is evidence that the Great Pyramid also incorporates a prophetic timetable for coming events, including the coming Tribulation and the return of Jesus Christ. With words and pictures, Noah Hutchings take the reader on an exciting tour of the Great Pyramid of Cheops, and many other wonders, including the Sphinx, Memphis, Sakkara, Luxor, and Karnak.
