Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the sequel to the Skimming Stone, the immortal wizard Signet is showing the children the underground temple he guards and the connecting passage to the old Victorian sewers of Brighton, when a unicorn named Aloric materialises and asks for Signet's help. Archie, Ally, and their friend, Zonah, are sucked into a whirlpool of intrigue, magic, space travel and danger in the amazing story The Grail of the Unicorn Planet: An Archie Dixon novel. Signet tells the children about the Unicorn's home on the planet Altair, where all the mythical creatures of this world live. The creatures can mix freely with inhabitants of advanced planets, but on primitive planets such as Earth, they remain hidden or disguised. Occasionally they are seen, thus creating human myths. The Alterians are dying from an unknown disease, so Signet goes off with Aloric to help them, using hyper-space travel. The children, left behind in the sewers, decide to explore. They overhear a plan to steal Faberge eggs from a bank by tunnelling through the sewers, and then almost bump into the evil Vastator, realising that he is behind the mysterious plague on Altair. Will good triumph?

Book The Ninth Century and the Holy Grail

Download or read book The Ninth Century and the Holy Grail written by W. J. Stein and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2009-09-15 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "One of the most valuable and original works on the Grail yet to appear in any language." --John Matthews, author of The Mystic Grail "The definitive work on the historical background to the Grail Romances of the mediaeval age." --Trevor Ravenscroft, author of The Spear of Destiny Much plagiarized and its contents distorted over the years, Stein's seminal work is a classic of original scholarly and spiritual research. In studying the central Grail narrative of Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzival, Stein takes a twofold approach. On the one hand, he searches historical records for the identity of actual people and events concealed behind the Grail epic's veil of romance. On the other hand, Stein deciphers Eschenbach's hidden spiritual messages, showing Parzival to be an esoteric document containing powerful pictures of the human being's inner path of development. Stein reveals the period of the ninth century to be far deeper and more important than to be of mere historical and academic interest. It is the karmic ground from which grows the very destiny of our modern era--the grand battle that must take place between the powers of the Grail and the hindrance of sinister anti-Grail forces at large today.

For over fifty years Dr.Weinstock has lived in the Florida Keys fishing the Atlantic and the Gulf waters off of Key West. A prize-winning angler, he shares exciting stories of the past in this sport-fishing mecca. You’ll feel the humidity as he fights the Permit on Boca Chica beach, hear the screeching of the terns while bonefishing on Marvin Key. Through twist and turns, and stories of the mind, the author demonstrates the healing power of nature. Hundreds colorful photos display the glorious diversity of fish, and natural beauty from Key West to Alaska, exploring the uplifting and the dismal view. At the helm are many years of research that uncover abuses of nature in the Florida Keys as a metaphor for global environmental tragedies.

Book Grail Knights of North America

Download or read book Grail Knights of North America written by Michael Anderson Bradley and published by Dundurn. This book was released on 1998 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A decade ago, Michael Bradley published the Canadian bestseller, Holy Grail Across the Atlantic (Hounslow Press, 1988), presenting the astounding evidence that a European settlement in Canada had been established in Nova Scotia ninety-four years before Columbus and ninety-nine years before John Cabot. Incredibly, mediaeval documents and maps showed that this settlement had been founded by refugee Knights Templar from Scotland - knights who had been created for the sole purpose of guarding the Holy Grail. Bradley presented evidence that these Grail-believing religious refugees and their knightly protectors had been instrumental in discovering, settling, and influencing the development of New France and, later, the fledgling American Republic. The book was automatically ridiculed by conventional North American historians, while at the same time serving as the model for European works (e.g. The Sword and the Grail by Britain's Andrew Sinclair). Michael Bradley's investigation stimulated some serious professional and academic researchers to join his quest to find further evidence of the Knights Templar in Canada and the United States. Now, in 1998, comes the publication of the long-awaited sequel to Holy Grail Across the Atlantic - Grail Knights of North America. Realizing from mediaeval documents that the initial Nova Scotia refuge of AD 1398 must have harboured many Grail believers, and that the secret colony must have expanded, Bradley began to trace evidence of Grail Knights from Nova Scotia, through New Brunswick to the St. Lawrence River, and on to the Great Lakes as far as Niagara, New York State, and central Pennsylvania. Evidence of their presence has been uncovered on both the Canadian and American sides of this great waterway. Bradley poses compelling questions about his discoveries, and offers plausible and provocative answers as we travel with him and his companions (both academic and amateur) along the trail of the Grail Knights of North America.

Book The Lady and the Unicorn

Download or read book The Lady and the Unicorn written by Tracy Chevalier and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2004-12-28 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A tour de force of history and imagination, The Lady and the Unicorn is Tracy Chevalier’s answer to the mystery behind one of the art world’s great masterpieces—a set of bewitching medieval tapestries that hangs today in the Cluny Museum in Paris. They appear to portray the seduction of a unicorn, but the story behind their making is unknown—until now. Paris, 1490. A shrewd French nobleman commissions six lavish tapestries celebrating his rising status at Court. He hires the charismatic, arrogant, sublimely talented Nicolas des Innocents to design them. Nicolas creates havoc among the women in the house—mother and daughter, servant, and lady-in-waiting—before taking his designs north to the Brussels workshop where the tapestries are to be woven. There, master weaver Georges de la Chapelle risks everything he has to finish the tapestries—his finest, most intricate work—on time for his exacting French client. The results change all their lives—lives that have been captured in the tapestries, for those who know where to look. In The Lady and the Unicorn, Tracy Chevalier weaves fact and fiction into a beautiful, timeless, and intriguing literary tapestry—an extraordinary story exquisitely told.

Book Ideological Bigotry

Download or read book Ideological Bigotry written by Tygrrrr Express and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-04-02 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: eric (yes, lowercase e) is politically conservative, morally liberal, and – by his own admission – completely off kilter. These quirks have allowed him to pursue his goal of being the world’s preeminent Republican Jewish blogger (www.tygrrrrexpress.com). eric has dedicated his life to fighting ideological bigotry – what he defines as a pervasive disdain for conservatives merely because they exist. With this book, eric presents his best columns as a cohesive discussion, ranging from serious to senseless, of why questioning issues such as the legality of gay marriage does not make one a homophobe; wanting to privatize social security does not mean one wishes to see seniors bleeding to death on the streets; and examining whether affirmative action succeeds does not make one a racist. With engaging and often amusing insight, eric illustrates how people can disagree without impugning their humanity. With Ideological Bigotry and his ongoing blog, eric’s ultimate goal is to make the world a better place. Within these pages, he illuminates that until liberals see conservatives as a noble opposition, they will continue to live in the intellectual, ethical, and political wilderness reserved for those who prefer rage, hatred, and anger to rolling up their sleeves and creating solutions.
