Book The Victorious Christian Soldier in Christ s Army

Download or read book The Victorious Christian Soldier in Christ s Army written by Urian Oakes and published by Puritan Publications. This book was released on 2020-08-28 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to be a conqueror in Christ's army? In fact, the question really is, what does it mean to be not only a conqueror, but more than a conqueror and good soldier in Christ's ranks? Oakes, in this wonderful work on answering that question, dives deep into Paul’s statement in Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” The truth proclaimed by Oakes is that there is a “more than ordinary triumph” over all those enemies that oppose themselves against the progress and advancement of a Christian in his way to the fruition of the sweet fruits of the everlasting love of God in Jesus Christ. That all true believers have a transcendent, and incomparably glorious conquest and victory in all their severe engagements with the enemies of their peace and happiness, through the love of God in Christ Jesus. Every true believer is a soldier, and engaged in a warfare. Every true believer has a constant fighting work before God, and there is no end of his war in this world, not any time in which he can stop fighting. Yet, a true believer is never totally and absolutely conquered in any engagement with the enemies that war against him. Every true believer manages a successful war, and is sure of a conquest. A believer’s victory and conquest are incomparably glorious. Every believer obtains this glorious victory and conquest through the Lord Jesus Christ. The love of God in Christ is the absolute first cause of those victorious proceedings, and this infallible conquest of believers. These believers are the greatest soldiers who have ever lived, and are comforted in their fight by the blessings of Almighty God through Christ. All believers must know and consider that they are soldiers in Christ’s army, and have a fighting work, a warfare, before them until they reach heaven. They must, as faithful soldiers, improve their skill in fighting, and harness the spiritual power of the everlasting Gospel of Jesus for their victory. We wait, and pray, and look, and long for that glorious day, when our warfare shall be ended, and we shall go out of the field victorious, and triumphant, as absolute conquerors. This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

Book The Good Soldier

Download or read book The Good Soldier written by Elie Hasbani and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Good Soldier: Running on the Road of Hope is the life story of author Elie Hasbani. Born in Lebanon, Elie, as the firstborn son, held a position of privilege and entitlement, dictated by the cultural tradition within which he was raised. He could do no wrong from his family's perspective and was given anything he wanted. With the position of first son, however, also came responsibilities and expectations that Elie found difficult to fulfill. He wanted the privileges, but not always the responsibilities; and so, he began at a young age to run, not away, but through the questions with which he continually wrestled. Elie's protected world was turned upside down when war broke out in Lebanon. As a young man, he stepped in to defend his beloved Lebanon and became embroiled in the twists and turns of a complicated political and military situation. Within this chaos, God began to work in Elie's life to answer some of the questions that plagued him; through what most would view as a tragic event, God would change Elie's life forever.

Book Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger

Download or read book Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger written by John McDougall and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2015-04-21 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Raid that Rescued Us. The Mission that Defines Our Lives. You are trapped behind enemy lines. You feel it every day. Powerful forces want to destroy you and those you love. Completely surrounded, you see no means to escape. Sadly, the Jesus we often picture is too timid to help—more like a daytime talk show host than a dangerous Rescuer. Who would follow—much less risk everything—for such a leader? Get ready to see Jesus like you’ve never seen him before—a battle-scarred Combatant who stared death in the face and won. This is no Sunday-school Jesus, meek and mild. This is the Warrior Christ who has descended from the heavens, defeated the Enemy, and rescued humanity. Now, he calls us to continue his mission and fight for others—our families, our communities, and the world. In Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger, Army Chaplain John McDougall offers an alternative to the soft, gentle caricature of Jesus. Only the Warrior Christ can impact our broken world. And only in following him can you find the life of purpose you’ve always wanted. SUIT UP. It’s time to enter the fight with the first and greatest Airborne Ranger. The views expressed in this book are those of the author and do not reflect the official policy or position of the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense or the U.S. government.

Book Soldier of Christ

Download or read book Soldier of Christ written by Robert A. Ventresca and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2013-01-15 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Debates over the legacy of Pope Pius XII and his canonization are so heated they are known as the “Pius wars.” Soldier of Christ moves beyond competing caricatures and considers Pius XII as Eugenio Pacelli, a flawed and gifted man. While offering insight into the pope’s response to Nazism, Robert A. Ventresca argues that it was the Cold War and Pius XII’s manner of engaging with the modern world that defined his pontificate. Laying the groundwork for the pope’s controversial, contradictory actions from 1939 to 1958, Ventresca begins with the story of Pacelli’s Roman upbringing, his intellectual formation in Rome’s seminaries, and his interwar experience as papal diplomat and Vatican secretary of state. Accused of moral equivocation during the Holocaust, Pius XII later fought the spread of Communism in Western Europe, spoke against the persecution of Catholics in Eastern Europe and Asia, and tackled a range of social and political issues. By appointing the first indigenous cardinals from China and India and expanding missions in Africa while expressing solidarity with independence movements, he internationalized the church’s membership and moved Catholicism beyond the colonial mentality of previous eras. Drawing from a diversity of international sources, including unexplored documentation from the Vatican, Ventresca reveals a paradoxical figure: a prophetic reformer of limited vision whose leadership both stimulated the emergence of a global Catholicism and sowed doubt and dissension among some of the church’s most faithful servants.

Download or read book Stand Therefore written by Adam Armstrong and published by Hpg Ministries. This book was released on 2013-08 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: STAND THEREFORE is a "field Guide" for Christian soldiers of all ages regardless of military service or length of time as a Christian. Scott A. Harrison (Author) uses his time deployed to Operation Desert Storm as a springboard into how to be an effective soldier for Christ. During his time in Operation Desert Storm, Scott began to see a relationship between that of a soldier in the US Army and a soldier in the Lord's Army. 10 years or so passed and one day while sitting in his office, he came across the Soldiers Manual of Common Tasks (SMCT) which was issued during his time in Basic Training. Thumbing through the SMCT, he began to write about the relationship between an Army soldier and that of a Christian. 3 years later, "Stand Therefore" was completed. We are at war. This war began in the Garden of Eden and will end on a bloody battlefield in a place called Armageddon. The entire Bible is about this war. Satan is the enemy, and Christ has already won the victory. This book is not about Satan's attack on the world in general but rather about his attack on each of us as individual Christians in our role as individual soldiers in God's army. The time has come for all Christians to stand and fight - not a carnal war with rifles, bayonets, and hand grenades but a spiritual war. In my lifetime I have seen the rapid decline of our great nation. War has reached our borders. As the United States of America, the last great hope for accomplishing Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to evangelize the world falls to the wiles of the devil, most Christians stand on the sidelines despairing that anything can be done. We are to don the spiritual armor God has given us and fight that souls might be saved. Our Great Commander, the Lord Jesus Christ, died and rose again that we might have life and live a more abundant life. The Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin before we realized we needed such a payment and by doing so, secured our salvation. Christ left with us the Holy Spirit by which we have the strength to stand. Having done all to stand, stand therefore (Ephesians 6:13-14).
