It is the intellectual, moral, and spiritual element by which we may see (Matthew 6:23). Jesus Christ is the light of the world (John 1:9) and the children of light is a term for true disciple (Luke 16:8 and Ephesians 1:8). God is the source of this light as the sun is the other. Through our light, we make God visible to all men and demonstrate that His love transcends all that is wrong with this world. Light defines the very essence of the children of God. It is a word that is used throughout The Holy Bible 264 times! It is characterized as an element that: Illuminates, Shines, Exposes and expels darkness, Projects and extends brightness, Causes one to see, Radiates, and Reveals. Light is described as an element that represents: Radiance (Matthew 7:12); Spiritual awareness and right living (1 John 1:7); A characteristic of God (Psalm 27:1); The opposite of darkness (Genesis 1:3-4); Illuminates (Matthew 6:22); Leads the way (Micah 7:8); and the Glory of God (1 Timothy 6:16). The biblical message, biblical preaching, and biblical teaching in this devotional/gift book come from Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures. Book Shine Being His Light in Darkness

Download or read book Shine Being His Light in Darkness written by Rebecca J. Nolley and published by AuthorLoyalty. This book was released on 2022-03-28 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When we look around at the darkness of this world, it's hard to see the light. Jesus declared, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). Yet, Jesus is no longer in the world. In fact, it's been over two thousand years since He's walked this earth. So where is the light now? The truth is that it's in us. As said in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world.” Shine is an eight-week study into this truth―into identifying the One True Light and learning how to shine brighter for Him. God's light reveals truth, draws others, and exposes sin, and our own light works to do the same. However, it is not so easy because it's a fight against fear, selfishness, apathy, and the harmful impulse to hide one's personal light. The very concept of light is seen all throughout Scripture, blooming with the first verses of Genesis and concluding with the last verses of Revelation, and it is through this that Shine sheds its own light onto God's Word. Rebecca J. Nolley utilizes compassion and inspiration to explore the significance of walking forward as beacons of light and the valuable message that when we shine the light of Jesus into the lives of others, more people will turn to Him, and He will be further glorified. Shine begins and ends its study with the Giver of Light and the simple truth that it is through Him and by Him we are able to shine.

Download or read book God s Light Bulb written by Muzella Hayes Ph.D and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-10-22 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Earthly man does not always understand the revelations of the Word; it is therefore sometimes necessary to use metaphors or parables as Jesus did when teaching the Jews about the kingdom of God. In the same vein, this dissertation uses the metaphor of a light bulb that can emanate light""when plugged into an electrical source""to the light that shines from God. Going further with this metaphor, the "light bulb of God" takes its energy from the Lord himself as it shines in the lives of everyone who believes in God. Light is used to show the way, as roads, airport runways, and stations are lit to facilitate easier traveling to humans. Light, as humans know it, was only possible after electricity was discovered. Caldwell stated that in New York, "by the late 1870's electric light was no longer a novelty, though the city didn't get its first consumer power grid until eight-teen eighty-two." The city put electrical lights to good use as the New York Train System lit up the tracks twenty-four hours a day""this provided an indication of the way the train would go. This was considered light that would guide the way for so many people travelling the city. This train line pointing to the way people should go can be seen as a metaphor for The Way in a biblical sense. There are people who do not know or believe that the first light was God's light.

Book Light

  • Author : Eddie B. Cool

  • Release : 2022-08-01
  • ISBN : 1098043456
  • Pages : 208 pages

Download or read book Light written by Eddie B. Cool and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was inspired by the book of John, the first chapter. In the beginning the word already existed. The word was with God and the word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. My eyes have been opened to these verses by the light of Christ penetrating into my soul leading me to see and understand the true meaning of life. Everything there is has a word attached to it. When we can take time to slow down with understanding and, yes, even break words down a little more with acronyms, the power of those words can speak life to ourselves and to others. When driving down a road, we have become accustomed to pushing on gas or the brake pedal as needed by our sight. In life, we can do the same thing with our thinking whether good or bad to steer us away from disaster or to find peace. If we only take the time and affiliate our words with knowledge just like slamming on our brakes when a kid runs out in front of us. My book will teach you how to find peace that turns into lasting joy which is surrounded by love. Little things like words put together with roots (acronyms) make our lives stronger. Here are a couple of acronyms just to get you started that have made a life-changing transformation in me: Chaos: Creating hell allowing overwhelming sin. When we act before thinking it through. Grace: GodaEUR(tm)s riches abundantly coming everyday. Now thataEUR(tm)s treasure.

Book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ

Download or read book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ written by JOHN PIPER and published by Inter-Varsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.
