In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

Book Placing Outer Space

Download or read book Placing Outer Space written by Lisa Messeri and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2016-09-22 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Placing Outer Space Lisa Messeri traces how the place-making practices of planetary scientists transform the void of space into a cosmos filled with worlds that can be known and explored. Making planets into places is central to the daily practices and professional identities of the astronomers, geologists, and computer scientists Messeri studies. She takes readers to the Mars Desert Research Station and a NASA research center to discuss ways scientists experience and map Mars. At a Chilean observatory and in MIT's labs she describes how they discover exoplanets and envision what it would be like to inhabit them. Today’s planetary science reveals the universe as densely inhabited by evocative worlds, which in turn tells us more about Earth, ourselves, and our place in the universe.

Book Irwin Allen Television Productions 1964 1970

Download or read book Irwin Allen Television Productions 1964 1970 written by Jon Abbott and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2015-06-14 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Before establishing himself as the "master of disaster" with the 1970s films The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno, Irwin Allen created four of television's most exciting and enduring science-fiction series: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants. These 1960s series were full of Allen's favorite tricks, techniques and characteristic touches, and influenced other productions from the original Star Trek forward. Every science-fiction show owes something to Allen, yet none has equaled his series' pace, excitement, or originality. This detailed examination and documentation of the premise and origin of the four shows offers an objective evaluation of every episode--and demonstrates that when Irwin Allen's television episodes were good, they were great, and when they were bad, they were still terrific fun.

Download or read book Inner Space Outer Space written by Edward Kolb and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1986-04 with total page 682 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inner Space/Outer Space brings together much of the exciting work contributing to a new synthesis of modern physics. Particle physicists, concerned with the "inner space" of the atom, are making discoveries that their colleagues in astrophysics, studying outer space, can use to develop and test hypotheses about the events that occurred in the microseconds after the Big Bang and that shaped the universe as we know it today. The papers collected here, from scores of scientists, constitute the proceedings of the first major international conference on research at the interface of particle physics and astrophysics, held in May 1984. The editors have written introductions to each major section that draw out the central themes and elaborate on the primary implications of the papers that follow.

Book Greta and the Giants

Download or read book Greta and the Giants written by Zoë Tucker and published by Frances Lincoln Children's Books. This book was released on 2019-11-19 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This inspiring picture book retells the story of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thunberg—the Swedish teenager who has led a global movement to raise awareness about the world’s climate crisis—using allegory to make this important topic accessible to young children. Greta is a little girl who lives in a beautiful forest threatened by Giants. When the Giants first came to the forest, they chopped down trees to make houses. Then they chopped down more trees and made even bigger homes. The houses grew into towns and the towns grew into cities, until now there is hardly any forest left. Greta knows she has to help the animals who live in the forest, but how? Luckily, Greta has an idea… A section at the back explains that, in reality, the fight against the “giants” isn’t over and explains how you can help Greta in her fight. Book Giants and the Lost Lands of the Gods

Download or read book Giants and the Lost Lands of the Gods written by Peter Kolosimo and published by Inner Light - Global Communications. This book was released on 2017-04-03 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TRAVEL BACK INTO THE DISTANT PAST WITH PETER KOLOSIMO AND NICK REDFERN GIANTS AND THE LOST LANDS OF THE GODS A TIMELESS EARTH - GIANTS, MONSTERS AND ALIENS IN HISTORY "Creatures from outer space have not only walked among us, they have shaped the path of our history," states Peter Kolosimo, an award winning Italian author who preceeded author Erich von Daniken by several years in popularizing what has become known as the "Ancient Alien Theory" of human evolution and contact with extraterrestrial beings. Here is a new, updated version of "Timeless Earth" - considered to be one of the most remarkable books you will ever read on Ancient Astronauts and how they assisted in the development of civilization throughout the world. Kolosimo founded and coordinated the Italian Association for Prehistoric Studies. His findings were considered so important that they were published in over 50 countries, including Russia and China, which were still isolated from Western society at the time of the book's initial publication. PARTIAL CONTENTS OF A BOOK THAT SHOULD SHOCK THE WORLD - The Origins of Mankind: An intelligent, scholarly overview of the developing picture of man's evolution as anthropologists struggle to make sense of the fossils and bones left behind. - Cosmic Catastrophes: How "extraterrestrial" disasters like crashed meteors affected the ancient Earth. - The Age of Giants: How cosmic rays from outer space may have created giants and modern anthropological evidence that bears this out. - The Mark Of The Titans: Biblical and mythological references to giants, some of whom were cannibals while others were benevolent. Did they come from "extraterrestrial space?" - Nightmares In Stone: Huge Figures Circle The Planet In A Grid. - The Lost World Of Mu: A Vast Civilization Existed In The Pacific. - Legends Of The Stars: Who Were The "Strangers" Who Came Here? - Secrets Of The Pyramids: Who Built Them And Why? - The Wandering Masters. - The Mystery Of Atlantis: Where Did It Exist? - The White Gods: They Intermingled With The Native. Were They From Earth Or The Far Fields Of Space? - Children Of The Sun. - The Lords Of Fire. - The Spaceships of Tiahuannaco: South America Was Visited As Well! - Unthinkable Journeys! This book rewrites history. It is "forbidden archeology" in the extreme. Whatever your feelings, this is a "lost book" about lost lands and the occupants from space that time has simply forgotten!

Book There Were Giants Upon the Earth

Download or read book There Were Giants Upon the Earth written by Zecharia Sitchin and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2010-05-05 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The crowning work of the best-selling Earth Chronicles series • Reveals the existence of physical evidence of alien presence on Earth in the distant past • Identifies and describes the demigods, such as Gilgamesh, descended from these visitors • Outlines the tests of this physical evidence of alien presence that could unlock the secrets of health, longevity, life, and death In whose genetic image were we made? From his first book The 12th Planet on, Zecharia Sitchin has asserted that the Bible’s Elohim who said “Let us fashion The Adam in our image and after our likeness” were the gods of Sumer and Babylon--the Anunnaki who had come to Earth from their planet Nibiru. The Adam, he wrote, was genetically engineered by adding Anunnaki genes to those of an existing hominid, some 300,000 years ago. Then, according to the Bible, intermarriage took place: “There were giants upon the Earth” who took Adam’s female offspring as wives, giving birth to “heroes of renown.” With meticulous detail, Sitchin shows that these were the demigods of Sumerian and Babylonian lore, such as the famed Mesopotamian king Gilgamesh as well as the hero of the Deluge, the Babylonian Utnapishtim. Are we then, all of us, descendants of demigods? In this crowning oeuvre, Zecharia Sitchin proceeds step-by-step through a mass of ancient writings and artifacts, leading the reader to the stunning Royal Tombs of Ur. He reveals a DNA source that could prove the biblical and Sumerian tales true, providing conclusive physical evidence for past alien presence on Earth and an unprecedented scientific opportunity to track down the “Missing Link” in humankind’s evolution, unlocking the secrets of longevity and even the ultimate mystery of life and death.
