This book was released on 2019-04-03 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The German Wirehaired Pointer is a breed of medium to large-sized dog that is a member of the griffon typing. As the name suggests the breed originates from Germany and was developed during the 19th century. The breed is also commonly known as the 'Deutsch Drahthaar, ' and the 'Vorstehhund' in Germany. The breed was developed for the purposes of being a rugged and versatile hunting dog that was capable of working closely with either a single hunter or a small party of hunters. The German Wirehaired Pointer was developed to be able to traverse varied terrain (from the mountainous regions of the Alps, to the dense forests present with Germany, to open fields and farms surrounding small farms) on foot. The people who developed the breed wanted the German Wirehaired Pointer to have a coat that was both easy to maintain but would also be able to protect the dog from heavy cover and cold weather. The German Wirehaired Pointer therefore has a weather resistant, water-repellent wiry and dense undercoat. The German Wirehaired Pointer also have a straight, wiry, harsh and flat lying overcoat that is about two inches in length. The German Wirehaired Pointer was developed for the main purpose of point and location upland game, being fearless while hunting 'sharp' game (such as foxes), being able to retrieve water fowl and land birds and be a devoted and trainable companion. The temperament of dogs is normally affected by the following factors: individual personality, heredity, training and socialization. It is therefore important to make sure that you meet the puppy's mother before purchasing a German Wirehaired Pointer. It is also important to make sure to thoroughly socialize your German Wirehaired Pointer with strangers, children and other animals during its puppyhood. Generally speaking, the German Wirehaired Pointer thrives on human companionship and is very affectionate, loyal and playful. It is important to note that as a working breed, the German Wirehaired Pointer has a high amount of energy which needs to be expended. If the German Wirehaired Pointer has a buildup of energy it is likely to develop destructive behaviors due to boredom or hyperactivity. Before purchasing any pet it is important to understand that as a pet owner you are responsible for the care and wellbeing of your pet. It is important to try and learn as much as you can about the animal you are considering to keep as a pet to make sure that your lifestyle, household and financial status are suited to provide your pet with the best possible care. Book excerpt: The German Shepherd is a breed of medium to large-sized working dog that originates from Germany. The German spelling is 'Deutscher Schäferhund.' The German Shepherd is a relatively new breed of dog that came into existence in 1899 and was put to work as a sheep herder. However due to their physical strength and intelligence they have become a popular choice for all lines of work: disability assistance, search and rescue, police, acting and military. It is also a popular household pet and is the second most popular breed of dog in the United States! German Shepherds come in two coat varieties: short-medium and long. The long haired variety is rarer due to the fact that the long-hair gene is recessive. Their coats are most commonly tan or red with black marking on their backs and face. However there are rarer color variations such as pure white, pure black and silver blue. Download or read book The German Pinscher A Complete and Comprehensive Owners Guide To Buying Owning Health Grooming Training Obedience Understanding and written by Michael Stonewood and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-04-02 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The German Pinscher is a medium-sized breed of dog that is a member of the Pinscher typing. The breed is also commonly known as the 'Deutscher Pinscher' in reference to its country of origin, Germany. The German Pinscher is included in the origins for the Dobermann Pinscher, the Rottweiler, the Miniature Pinscher, the Affenpinscher and the Standard Schnauzer. The German Pinscher has been shown in dog book since the early 1880s, but drawings of the breed date back all the way to the early 1780s. However it is believed that the German Pinscher originated in the 15th century! The breed's ancestral history is believed to be connected to ratters, but was developed in Germany for the purposes of guardian and herding cattle. The German Pinscher also began to be used as a coach guardian due to their obedience, agility and strength. The breed has also always been used in homesteads for ratting purposes as they will instinctively hunt and kill small vermin - due to the German Pinscher's extremely high prey drive it is recommended to not leave it of a leash in an unfenced area. The breed is known to be an incredibly loving companion with an even temperament. Temperament is hereditary which means that when you are considering purchasing a German Pinscher it is important to physically meet and interact with the mother of the puppy to ensure that they is gentle and loving. The German Pinscher is a highly intelligent, friendly, confident and trainable breed. While a well-trained German Pinscher live happily with small animals and children it is still advisable to never leave your German Pinscher alone with either to minimize the chance of a potential accident. It is important to remember that the German Pinscher is a working dog and highly energetic, it is therefore likely to develop destructive behaviors if it is not exercised (both physically and mentally) due to an abundance of energy or general boredom. It is also important to note that as a whole, the German Pinscher, has a great dislike for water. They are known to take baths to appease their owners, but will generally shun water at all costs. Book excerpt: The English Cocker Spaniel is a breed of gun dog that was developed in England in the mid-19th century. However Spaniel-type dogs have been present within English art and literature for over 500 years. Traditionally the English Cocker Spaniel was not used to retrieve game, during a hunt, but would rather chase the game towards the guns. The English Cocker Spaniel is a sturdy, compact and well-balanced dog. It has a characteristic expression that makes the breed appear intelligent and alert at all times. The breed has dark eyes and large lobular ears that reach past the tip of the dog's nose when pulled forward. The English Cocker Spaniel is very similar to the English Springer Spaniel and at first glance there seems to be no differences - other than the English Springer Spaniel being larger in size. However the English Cocker Spaniel tends to have longer ears and the English Springer Spaniel tends to have a longer muzzle and a less abundant coat. Book The Field Spaniel A Complete and Comprehensive Owners Guide To Buying Owning Health Grooming Training Obedience Understanding and

Download or read book The Field Spaniel A Complete and Comprehensive Owners Guide To Buying Owning Health Grooming Training Obedience Understanding and written by Michael Stonewood and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-04 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Field Spaniel is a medium-sized breed of dog that is a member of the Spaniel typing. During the early 19th century the Field Spaniel was originally developed to be a show breed by competitors who were attempting to create an all-black Spaniel. The breed's original coloration and shape made them incredibly unpopular with sportsmen due to the fact that the Field Spaniel's dark coat made it hard to spot during hunting conditions. The Field Spaniel's elongated shape and small legs also made the breed inadequate at traversing through cover and forests. During the mid-20th century the Field Spaniel was redeveloped as a longer-legged dog that was much more suitable for working purposes - most specifically field work. The newly developed Field Spaniel is considered to be the father of the modern and extremely popular English Cocker Spaniel and American Cocker Spaniel. However, despite being the forefather of two of the most popular breeds worldwide, the Field Spaniel is a rare breed of dog that is actually considered to be a 'vulnerable breed' in the United Kingdom due to their dwindling numbers. The Field Spaniel has the darkest coat of all the breeds within the Spaniel typing. The Field Spaniel also has no undercoat unlike most of the other working type of Spaniels. The Field Spaniel's coat most commonly comes in solid colors but it is not uncommon for there to be occasional markings on the breed's chest. In modern times the Field Spaniel is mainly found as a household family pet. Due to their working and show history, the Field Spaniel can become bored very easily and without some form of purpose it is not uncommon for a Field Spaniel to develop destructive behaviors due to boredom. They make perfect family pets due to their docile, friendly and loving nature. The Field Spaniel is also very good around strangers, small children and other animals, providing that it has been properly socialized during its puppyhood. The Field Spaniel is also known to be highly less excitable than the English Cocker Spaniel and the American Cocker Spaniel, which makes it a better choice for families with small children. Book excerpt: The Bloodhound, also commonly known as the 'Sleuth Hound, ' is a large breed of scent hound that was originally developed to be able to hunt deer and wild boar. During the Middle Ages the Bloodhound was also used to track people. The breed has an incredible sense of smell that allows it to discern specific human scents across great distances. The mixture of the breeds innate hunting instinct and sense of smell has lead the Bloodhound to be used by modern day police and law enforcement across the world. The breed primarily is used to track escaped prisoners, lost children, missing people and lost pets. However due to the breeds tireless tracking, when following a scent, they can be difficult to obedience train. The Bloodhound has an affectionate and gentle temperament which has lead the breed to become an ever increasingly popular household pet. The breed has a loose and thin coat that sheds seasonally. The Bloodhound's coat comes in three common colorations: black and tan, liver and tan, and red. It is not uncommon for a Bloodhound to have flecks of white throughout its coat and to have white patches on its feet, chest and tip of its tail.
