Book World Atlas of Oil and Gas Basins

Download or read book World Atlas of Oil and Gas Basins written by Guoyu Li and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-01-04 with total page 507 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Professor Li’s World Atlas of Oil and Gas Basins is a fresh and comprehensive treatise of the distribution of the world’s hydrocarbon reserves. The Atlas highlights the geographical, sedimentary and geological features of the basins, using a combination of maps and stratigraphic diagrams to depict the history, prospectivity and commercial production capacity of the reserves on a continental and country-by-country basis. The Atlas is an essential reference source for petroleum geologists and reservoir engineers working in hydrocarbon exploration and production. It is also a valuable and original teaching aid for university graduate and postgraduate courses. The Atlas provides a welcome addition to the global database of the world’s energy resources and is therefore an indispensable source of information for the formulation of future strategies to exploit oil and gas reserves. Written by one of China’s foremost petroleum geologists, the Atlas provides a rare analysis of the industry from the perspective of the country whose demand for oil and gas is set to become the largest in the next few decades. It is an important and vital scholarly work.

Book Relentless Change

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Casebooks in business history are designed to instruct students in classrooms and boardrooms about the evolution of business management. The first casebook for the study of business history in a Canadian context, Joseph E. Martin's text will help students, both in the classroom and the boardroom, understand the Canadian economy and guide them in making sound decisions and contributing to a healthy, growing economy. Thirteen original case studies from the mid-nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries deal with different industry sectors as well as individual corporations and managers. Overviews provide context by examining major public policy decisions and key developments in the financial system that have affected business practices. Martin also presents eight original tables that trace the evolution of the 60 largest Canadian corporations between 1905 and 2005. Relentless Change is an invaluable resource for instructors and business students and clearly demonstrates how businesses are affected by the interaction of individual decisions, policy changes, and market trends.

Book Environmental Review of Onshore Canadian Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Activities

Download or read book Environmental Review of Onshore Canadian Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Activities written by Canada. Environmental Protection Programs Directorate and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current and proposed Canadian onshore oil and gas drilling and production activities are reviewed with respect to their potential for environmental effects. Canadian petroleum geology and related hydrogeology are described to provide a framework for discussion of the impact of oil and gas drilling and recovery operations, including tar sands development, and waste disposal practices. Environmental legislation applicable to oil and gas industry activities is also reviewed. Major environmental concerns identified include the potential for soil and groundwater contamination by drilling fluids, solid wastes, chemical additives, oils and brines, produced sands, and liquid wastes. The potential for contamination depends on handling and disposal practices and the geologic and hydrogeologic characteristics of the drilling and production site. Although fairly comprehensive legislation is in place, its effectiveness in the long-term has not been assessed, and no specific legislation exists for in situ tar sands development. Areas where knowledge is lacking and research is required have been identified.
