Download or read book Marketing the Moon written by David Meerman Scott and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2014-02-28 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most successful public relations campaigns in history, featuring heroic astronauts, press-savvy rocket scientists, enthusiastic reporters, deep-pocketed defense contractors, and Tang. In July 1969, ninety-four percent of American televisions were tuned to coverage of Apollo 11's mission to the moon. How did space exploration, once the purview of rocket scientists, reach a larger audience than My Three Sons? Why did a government program whose standard operating procedure had been secrecy turn its greatest achievement into a communal experience? In Marketing the Moon, David Meerman Scott and Richard Jurek tell the story of one of the most successful marketing and public relations campaigns in history: the selling of the Apollo program. Primed by science fiction, magazine articles, and appearances by Wernher von Braun on the “Tomorrowland” segments of the Disneyland prime time television show, Americans were a receptive audience for NASA's pioneering “brand journalism.” Scott and Jurek describe sophisticated efforts by NASA and its many contractors to market the facts about space travel—through press releases, bylined articles, lavishly detailed background materials, and fully produced radio and television features—rather than push an agenda. American astronauts, who signed exclusive agreements with Life magazine, became the heroic and patriotic faces of the program. And there was some judicious product placement: Hasselblad was the “first camera on the moon”; Sony cassette recorders and supplies of Tang were on board the capsule; and astronauts were equipped with the Exer-Genie personal exerciser. Everyone wanted a place on the bandwagon. Generously illustrated with vintage photographs, artwork, and advertisements, many never published before, Marketing the Moon shows that when Neil Armstrong took that giant leap for mankind, it was a triumph not just for American engineering and rocketry but for American marketing and public relations.

Download or read book The Four Moons in the Human Body written by Dr. Siddhartha Ganguli and published by Allied Publishers. This book was released on 2023-10-12 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bauls & Fakirs of Bengal and Bangladesh certainly constitute a breed, different from other ethnic religious sects. They do not believe in worshipping in any citadel of religion like a temple, a mosque, or a church. They have the conviction that the body itself is the habitat of cosmic energy and also that the entire cosmos is present in a living body. They compare the body with a cage and the soul with an unknown bird which has come to stay for some time only. Most of the Bauls, who are not just singers but serious followers of the Baul path, do not believe in replication—creating any future progeny. They adopt special procedures for sexual union with menstruated female partners to retain the semen without losing it. To learn this very special technique which they do not share with any one, they have to take the help of learned and experienced Gurus who also teach them weird rituals like ‘Chari Chandra Bhed’ which involves consumption of semen, menstrual blood, urine and faeces. These folk medicine practices help them to keep diseases away and maintain good health. There have been lot of surveys and studies on the Bauls & Fakirs—primarily of historical, religious and sociological nature. This book goes a little deep to look at their songs, lifestyle, philosophy & practices from biological, psychological & management angles to establish that the Baulsphere is based on concepts and practices that have been proven scientific from modern research studies.

Download or read book The Fourth Source written by Robert J. Tuttle and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2012 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes how the effects of nature's own nuclear reactors have shaped the Earth, the Solar System, the Universe, and the history of life as we know it. It focuses on observed effects that are poorly explained by our standard theories, identifies certain errors in those theories, and shows how these effects are caused by natural nuclear fission reactors. The theory of Plate Tectonics is wrong, and it is shown that expansion of the Earth causes continental drift. A physically reasonable mechanism is proposed for expansion and observational data are presented to show that this occurs. Evolution is explained as punctuated equilibrium, with mutations caused by abrupt surges of radiation, and related life forms that have been interpreted as seperate species are actually the result of radiation injury. This view is particularly effective as applied to humans. The ability of the dinosaurs to live so large is explained by use of Earth Expansion and a more massive atmosphere to provide buoyancy and effective transpiration of oxygen. These effects also explain how pterodactyls and ancient birds could fly. Expansion induced by impacts at the end of the Cretaceous caused the atmosphere to thin and the dinosaurs collapsed. Analysis of geological and biological data supports this. The astronomical distance scale is shown to be wrong, based on the misconception that trigonometric parallax is an absolute measurement. It isn't, and the method is led astray by the overwhelming number of asteroidal fragments masquerading as stars. The measurements of an expanding Universe are shown to be in error, and an expanding Universe is not needed by an alternative interpretation of Einstein's equations. This interpretation is based on the equal creation of matter and antimatter, which is known to occur. Spiral galaxies are not vast Island Universes of stars as we have thought, but are shown to be the strewn fields of debris from the nuclear fission detonation of distant planets. The Universe is not made up of 96% Dark Matter and Dark Energy, but is instead very ordinary. Abundant evidence and references provide support for all these interpretations. This book opens new opportunities for research by correcting several fundamental errors in our concepts of the Earth, Life, and the Universe.

Download or read book Jehovah Jireh written by Lancelot Hewitt and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-04-26 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book speaks about a man who saw God appear in a pillar of clouds. He saw the glory of God enter into his home, and his whole house was full of God's glory. God's glory was so bright, this man could not look steadfastly on Him. He bowed submissively. In a blink of an eye, he was transformed into a light, and his body shone like the firmament of heaven. He heard the voice of God speaking, and His voice sounded like a mighty thunder. Beloved, after this experience, he came to this conclusion: no one can stand before God unless He permits you to. Words cannot express the great fear that I felt being in the presence of God. And I also cannot express the comfort that He gave to me. Beloved, this was the completion in which He appeared to me. Beloved, I am more than willing to testify to the entire world about what I saw and heard. This was not a dream, it was real. Even as Moses saw the burning bush, I also saw a burning bush twice, burning in real time as noted in the chapter "The Burning Bush." God also spoke to me in dreams and in visions as noted throughout this book. Now in all of these spiritual encounters, I am still not a righteous person; I am just an ordinary man. But there is one who is righteous altogether, and that is the One in whom I am well pleased. So I encourage every person who have the opportunity to read my testimony. My name is Lancelot, and this is my story.
