While she knows she had stolen a mysterious artifact there, she can't remember or understand all which has happened since. She is offered a chance: help the High Priest track down the artifact: The Forbidden Scroll of Fire that she stole; or be turned over to the guards. But there are complications. The scroll was taken from her by Frost Dirvent, the sorcerer who hired her to steal it and then betrayed her, leaving her for dead. The heir to a family of necromancers long since defeated, Frost has stepped forth from the ashes of history to reclaim the power he believes is his birthright. Despite her misgivings, Juliya must work with a group of adventurers to track down Frost and reclaim the scroll from him before he can use its powers against an unsuspecting world. But the journey to stop him will take her to the last place she ever wanted to return to: Home. "The Forbidden Scrolls is the start of an epic fantasy adventure, and I recommend you jump on the ride. You won't regret it!" -N.W. Moors, Author of The Black Swans

Book excerpt: What you are about to read is a fictional gay love story called "The Forbidden Scroll." It is the love story between Terryn of Cole, a scribe, and his relationship with Prince Florian of Deira. Terryn was instructed by the Prince to translate a scroll that had the words "Forbidden" written upon it. The contents of the scroll is sexual in nature and causes the two young men to question their sexuality. NOTE: The story is based upon some factual "forbidden" text. There are excepts from the original translated copy which are inserted into this story. During the middle ages, monks purposely sought illiterate young men who they could train to copy images ( in the form of letters) but not be able to read what they saw because it was from the forbidden scroll. In 1557, Pope Paul IV compiled and created the Index Librorum Prohibitorum (the Index of Forbidden Books). The Index of Forbidden Books were a list of books all christians were prohibited from reading or even owning except under special ecclesiastical permission. This scroll was listed on the Index of Forbidden Books and an unedited translation of the scroll is included at the end of this story for all to read.

Book The Forbidden Instruction Book

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am writing from a place that is a long way from the halls of fame. Working through two video clips, "the god delusion" and "the virus of faith." Eminent scientist Richard Dawkins produced the clips several years ago. There has been some reviews done on these videos in the past. Each time a comment has been made--it is from either side of the 'fence.' What makes this book so different; is that I am neither a religious-fundamentalist nor a scientist. One day, we may see a follow-up video. The purpose of this book is to chip away at your worldview. Many believe that the religions of this world actually read and follow an instruction book; however, that is definitely not the case. I invite you to challenge your worldview. Come along for the ride and take a fresh look at the world's "number one bestseller."

Download or read book The Forbidden Relations and the Early Tannaim written by John McGinley and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is there an idiosyncratically Jewish hermeneutic? Did such ever obtain in Jewish history? Is there an idiosyncratically Jewish theology? Did such ever obtain in Jewish history? Did the two ever obtain at once and together in Jewish history? The answer to all of these questions is: Yes. Come and explore -- with an idiosyncratically odd interpreter of things Jewish -- a special brief moment in the history of Jewish letters. One is speaking of roughly 75 CE to roughly 95 CE. Come and explore what was birthed in that time period. Come and explore how what was birthed in that time period came to be rejected and suppressed on the day of the coiled snake. Come and explore how, miraculously, what was rejected and suppressed ended up being re-inscribed in the final redaction of the Bavli, rendering that written production as the quintessential expression of what is idiosyncratically Jewish.
