Book The Supreme Team The Birth of Crack and Hip Hop Prince s Reign of Terror and the Supreme 50 Cent Beef Exposed

Download or read book The Supreme Team The Birth of Crack and Hip Hop Prince s Reign of Terror and the Supreme 50 Cent Beef Exposed written by Seth Ferranti and published by Gorilla Convict Publications. This book was released on 2023-09 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the crack era jumped off in the 1980s, many street legends were born in a hail of gunfire. Business minded and ruthless dudes seized the opportunities afforded them, and certain individuals out of the city's five boroughs became synonymous with the definition of the new era black gangster. Drugs, murder, kidnappings, shootings, more drugs, and more murder were the rule of the day. They called it "The Game," but it was a vicious attempt to come up by any means necessary. In the late 1980s, the mindset was "get mine or be mine," and nobody embodied this attitude more than the Supreme Team. The Supreme Team has gone down in street legend and the lyrical lore of hip-hop and gangsta rap as one of the most vicious crews to ever emerge on the streets of New York. Their mythical and iconic status inspired hip-hop culture and rap superstars like 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Biggie, Nas and Ja Rule. Born at the same time as crack, hip-hop was heavily influenced by the drug crews that controlled New York's streets. And the cliché of art imitating life and vice versa came full circle in the saga of the Supreme Team's infamous leaders- Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff and Gerald "Prince" Miller. In the maelstrom of the mid-80s crack storm and burgeoning hip-hop scene, their influence and relevance left a lasting impression.Going from drug baron to federal prisoner to hip-hop maestro to life in prison, Supreme was involved in hip-hop and the crack trade from day one. His run stretched decades, but in the end he fell victim to the pitfalls of the game like all before him had. His nephew, the enigmatic Prince, who had a rapid, violent, and furious rise in the streets also fell hard and fast to the tune of seven life sentences. The Supreme Team has been romanticized and glorified in hip-hop, but the truth of the matter is that most of their members are currently in prison for life or have spent decades of their prime years behind bars. This book looks at the team's climatic rise from its inception to its inevitable fall. It looks at Supreme's redemption with Murder Inc. and his relapse back into crime. This book is the Supreme Team story in all its glory, infamy, and tragedy. It's a tale of turns, twists, and fate. Meet the gangsters from Queens where the drug game influenced the style and swagger of street culture, hip-hop and gangsta rap and made the infamous cast of characters from the Supreme Team icons in the annals of urban lore.

Book The Selkie Prince s Fated Mate

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Selkie prince forced to produce an heir. An omega destined to become a royal’s fated mate... Prince Kai’s life as he knows it is now over. As the firstborn alpha to the Selkie King of the North, he’s required to produce an heir. Whether he wants to or not. When the Selkie Seekers finally present his fated mate, he dreads being tied to this stranger for the rest of his life. He can only hope his omega will be easy on the eyes and somewhat intelligent. Raised in a family of good breeding, Luca always knew it was possible he’d end up the mate for an alpha of nobility. Only to whom, he never knew. Every time the Seekers summoned him for the humiliating presentation ceremony to royalty of all levels, he feared being stuck with some unbearable, abusive or very unattractive alpha. As an omega he doesn’t have the choice to say no. Not only is it his obligation, it’s the law. If he refuses, he and his family would become outcasts and banished from the Selkie community. However, as soon as Kai enters the Great Hall of the North, it’s clear that the handsome prince is his alpha. Luca’s pleased with the choice the fates made until the king demands that not only he become pregnant within six months but produce an alpha pup with his son, otherwise he’ll be cast aside. And getting pregnant might be a problem... Note: A 56k word m/m shifter mpreg story, this is the first book in the Royal Alpha series. Due to the “knotty” times in this book, it is recommended for mature readers only. While it can be read as a standalone, it’s recommended to read the series in order. And, like all of my books, it has an HEA.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Before. We were. Before there was light, before the stars were hung, before the galaxies were fashioned and the planets set to revolving around their suns, before the oceans were mixed, before there was sound, before there was time, before all except the One, we were. He formed us first to be his companions and his servants, to share his joy, and receive his light. Joyfully we glorified his name. The secrets of the ages we kept and still keep. In our eyes stars are born and rise and have their being. All of His creations delight in His holy will, and joyously dance to the tune He plays for them. Only man, who was formed in His holy image, dares to defy His laws. To your kind He gave generously of even the highest gifts, that none but the first born knew. Those of us who always were did not understand the implications at first of these new children. Although it wasn't long before our interest was piqued, roused by the discovery He, who knows all things seemed not to recognize this latest creation was not fit to be called one of His children. We believed it impossible for Him to be mistaken. Why could we not pierce the mystery of his forbearance with these new ones? We waited for him to reveal his purpose to us. And we watched with curiosity, not unmixed with dread, as He busied himself with his new creations. So many gifts He gave them, but the most curious, and to our minds it has proved the most dreadful of all, the gift of free will. It was not long before the first among them chose defiance over obedience. We waited for His just condemnation of their poor choice, but He relented. We whispered amongst ourselves, but never to Him, though we knew He reads all hearts and knows all thoughts. We watched horrified at the appalling consequences of His holy gift to one who proved over and over again he was unworthy of the condescension shown him. Again and again they tested the limits of His wrath. We were awed by His restraint, darkly amused at times by the risks these little children took. We wonder now if man was created not only for our Father's pleasure, but as a means to test us. For was there not a great distance between us and His other children? Who were these small all but mindless, most certainly witless creatures, to set themselves up as gods themselves in opposition to the Holy of Holies? He was surely aware of the resentment building in one of us, the first among us, the fairest, the strongest, our brother, our sun. I cannot speak of that time, and I try not to give rise to the anger in my being against those responsible for his fall. For would I not then be no different than he? Would I not share his fate in my arrogance for questioning the will of He who is above all things? Perhaps He senses my resentment and knows of my frustration over my inability to set it aside. In His infinite mercy, He has given me this task, so I might understand, so my anger might ever be silenced, and I can return to the peace of knowing all will be well, and my brother will one day return to us. If I knew such an outcome to be a fact, I would not be troubled. For what is time to us but the count of endless dawns, the birth of new worlds and the death of ancient ones? But I know not what will come. Do we not have free will? Will my brother repent of his arrogance? Will man be my brother's salvation or his eternal damnation? As to the fate of man, I do not presume to hazard a guess. I know only I must serve His will. For such is life to me. Without such service I am empty, I am lost and forsaken. So here is the task He set for me. Here is the story of man from the point of view of one who has watched his haughty little march across the face of his little world from the moment God first called him into being. At times I find myself filled with laughter at his antics, at others I am awed by his breathtaking conceit. Always I wait, seeking some sign all will be well…”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This volume, by Biblical scholar Yochi Brandes, is a riveting novel based on textual sources about the experiences of David and Solomon. Its lessons are also relevant for our turbulent time.” —Elie Wiesel, #1 New York Times and internationally bestselling author of Night In the tradition of The Red Tent from internationally bestselling author Yochi Brandes comes the stories of the struggles of King David and King Saul in the early days of the Kingdom of Israel, seen through the eyes of Michal, Saul’s daughter and David’s abandoned queen Stories are deadlier than swords. Swords kill only those who stand before them, stories decide who will live and die in generations to come. Shelomoam, a young man from the tribe of Ephraim, has grown up in the shadow of dark secrets. He wonders why his father is deathly afraid of the King’s soldiers and why his mother has lied about the identities of those closest to him. Shelomoam is determined to unearth his mysterious past, never imagining where his quest will ultimately lead him. The Secret Book of Kings upends conventions of biblical novels, engaging with the canonized stories of the founding of the Kingdom of Israel and turning them on their heads. Presented for the first time are the heretofore unknown stories of the House of Saul and of the northern Kingdom of Israel, stories that were artfully concealed by the House of David and the scribes of the southern Kingdom of Judah. Yochi Brandes, one of Israel’s all-time bestselling novelists, enlists her unique background in both academic Jewish scholarship and traditional religious commentaries to read the Bible in an utterly new way. In this book, a major publishing phenomenon in Israel and one of the bestselling novels in the history of the country, she uncovers vibrant characters, especially women, buried deep within the scriptures, and asks the loaded question: to what extent can we really know our past when history is written by the victors?

Prince Caol of the North has enjoyed a very active, carefree life. Being the youngest of five alpha-born princes, he hasn’t had a lot of responsibilities. Book The True History of Allah and His 5

Download or read book The True History of Allah and His 5 written by The Gods & Earths Who Were There! and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-03-16 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on the true history of Allah "the Father" and His great Nation of Gods and Earths known as the Five Percenters. This is the greatest story that was never told by the Gods and the Earths during their younger years with Allah "the Father" from the early 1960s up until the time of his assassination on June 13, 1969. This was a time of struggle for the Black Man, Woman, and Child (the Universal Family). This was the time of "the Big Five", who were: Allah "the Father", who brought about the Nation of Gods and Earths known as the Five Percenters; the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, who was the last and greatest messenger of Allah, also the leader and teacher of the Black Muslims; Malcolm X of the new arrival; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights leader; and the Black Panther Party on the East and West coasts. These five groups were called the Big Five, because they had the attention of every Black Man, Woman, and Child in the wilderness of North America and other parts of our planet. There was a host of other Black groups as well. This was a time when the Five Percenter's teachings were being taught/spoken so plain and simple that even a child could understand. Black people were on the rise, and it was a time for a change—for Black Man, Woman, and Child to take their place on earth. Peace!

Book Vagabond Princess

Download or read book Vagabond Princess written by Ruby Lal and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2024-02-27 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A captivating biography of one of the world’s greatest adventurers, the itinerant Mughal Princess Gulbadan, based on her long-forgotten memoir “Finally, a serious consideration of Gulbadan’s achievement.’”—Kirkus Reviews Situated in the early decades of the magnificent Mughal Empire, this first ever biography of Princess Gulbadan offers an enthralling portrait of a charismatic adventurer and unique pictures of the multicultural society in which she lived. Following a migratory childhood that spanned Kabul and north India, Gulbadan spent her middle years in a walled harem established by her nephew Akbar to showcase his authority as the Great Emperor. Gulbadan longed for the exuberant itinerant lifestyle she’d known. With Akbar’s blessing, she led an unprecedented sailing and overland voyage and guided harem women on an extended pilgrimage in Arabia. Amid increasing political tensions, the women’s “un-Islamic” behavior forced their return, lengthened by a dramatic shipwreck in the Red Sea. Gulbadan wrote a book upon her return, the only extant work of prose by a woman of the age. A portion of it is missing, either lost to history or redacted by officials who did not want the princess to have her say. Vagabond Princess contemplates the story of the missing pages and breathes new life into a daring historical figure. It offers a portal to a richly complex world, rife with movement and migration, where women’s conviviality, adventure, and autonomies shine through.
