The Unima International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanity (UNICSSH) 2022 was conducted on October, 11th – 13th 2022, at The Grand Kawanua International City, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. In 2022, Universitas Negeri Manado will host the Indonesian National Education Convention (KONASPI) X. Konaspi is a routine activity of the PPTKN which is held once every four years. The fourth industrial revolution (4.0) is marked by technological advances and supported by artificial intelligence that creates opportunities and challenges for the education system. University and vocational school graduates are facing a world transformed by technology which in turn is transforming the workplace from task-based to human-centered characteristics. Certain skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, cognitive flexibility, and knowledge production are required. To answer this demand, the education system must put revolutionary innovation on its agenda. Scholars, researchers, and practitioners are invited to share ideas, research results, and best practices about education, science, and technology now and in the future at an international conference held by Universitas Negeri Manado as part of the Indonesian National Education Convention (KONASPI). As part of KONASPI X activities, Universitas Negeri Manado is holding the 2022 International Conference on Education, Social Science, and Humanities (ICESSHum). The topics in this international conference are Education, Law, Politics and Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, and Humanities. Through these themes, it is expected to involve many professionals who have indirect roles in related fields. Download or read book Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities and Arts SSHA 2023 written by Mohd Fauzi bin Sedon and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-06-29 with total page 1398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. With the progress of social civilization, social science and its research are becoming more and more important. Theoretically and practically, the study of social phenomena and social problems and the development of prosperous social sciences are the eternal themes of human beings. At present, social science research and its results can hardly meet the needs of social development, especially the unscientific evaluation of social science results, which has aroused great concern from all walks of life, and has produced dirt and questions on social science, thus affecting the proper development of social science. Max Weber once said that "the most important function of social science in modern times is to keep people "clear-headed" and to resist the delusions of "prophetic legislators". " Humanities and arts are the process of perceiving, realizing, thinking, manipulating, and expressing objective or subjective objects through capturing and excavating, feeling and analyzing, integrating and applying, or displaying the stage results in the form obtained through feeling (seeing, hearing, smelling, touching). The social sciences and humanities and arts contain content that will directly affect our lives and the way society functions. And by reacting to today's increasingly intricate problems and situations through systematic and professional discussions, they will further contribute to the improvement of institutions and the development of society. By thinking about issues and looking at problems and the world from different perspectives by putting the two together, it may be possible to have more comprehensive, appropriate, and better responses; for example, the development of laws requires a deeper understanding of the environment in which they are implemented; international trade requires a certain understanding of the customs of different countries; and the development of tax and economic policies requires a certain understanding of the population, consumer demand, etc.

Book excerpt: Advances in information and communication technology are transforming the way scholarly research is conducted across all disciplines. The use of increasingly powerful and versatile computer-based and networked systems promises to change research activity as profoundly as the mobile phone, the Internet, and email have changed everyday life. This book offers a comprehensive and accessible view of the use of these new approaches--called "e-Research"--and their ethical, legal, and institutional implications. The contributors, leading scholars from a range of disciplines, focus on how e-Research is reshaping not only how research is done but also, and more important, its outcomes. By anchoring their discussion in specific examples and case studies, they identify and analyze a promising set of practical developments and results associated with e-Research innovations. The contributors, who include Geoffrey Bowker, Christine Borgman, Paul Edwards, Tim Berners-Lee, and Hal Abelson, explain why and how e-Research activity can reconfigure access to networks of information, expertise, and experience, changing what researchers observe, with whom they collaborate, how they share information, what methods they use to report their findings, and what knowledge is required to do this. They discuss both the means of e-Research (new research-centered computational networks) and its purpose (to improve the quality of world-wide research). William H. Dutton is Director of the Oxford Internet Institute, Professor of Internet Studies, and Professorial Fellow of Balliol College at the University of Oxford. Paul W. Jeffreys, formerly Director of the Oxford e-Research Centre, is Director of IT at the University of Oxford, Professor of Computing, and Professorial Fellow of Keble College at the University of Oxford.

Download or read book Proceedings of the 2nd UPY International Conference on Education and Social Science UPINCESS 2023 written by Ari Kusuma Wardana and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2024-01-31 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. Technology has had a huge impact on education and social dynamics around the world. Since the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICTs), such as the internet, smartphones and social media, much has changed in the way we learn and interact with others. In education, technology has enabled students and teachers to access more diverse and engaging educational resources. With internet access, students and teachers can access educational resources from all over the world and learn about various topics and disciplines. In addition, technology also enables distance learning, which allows students and teachers to connect from different locations. However, there are also negative impacts of using technology in education. For example, excessive use of social media and the internet can cause concentration disorders and addiction in students. In addition, too much reliance on technology can also reduce students’ ability to think critically and solve problems independently. In social dynamics, technology has allowed us to connect with people from all over the world and paved the way for greater collaboration and cultural exchange. However, technology has also brought negative impacts on social dynamics, such as the spread of fake news or hoaxes, cyberbullying, and social media addiction. In this regard, technology can be a very useful tool if used wisely and with proper understanding of its impact. Therefore, to support this, Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta was hold an international conference and Call for Papers The 2nd UPY International Conference on Education and Social Science (UPINCESS) “The Impact of Technology on Education and Social Dynamics” on September 27, 2023. The conference aims to discuss in depth about the impact of technology on education and social dynamics, as well as finding appropriate solutions and strategies to minimize its negative impact and maximize its benefits. Experts, researchers, and practitioners in the field of education and technology from around the world can share their knowledge and experience in this conference, and can encourage collaboration and innovation in this field.
