Book The Final Testaments Vol 3

Download or read book The Final Testaments Vol 3 written by Uche Ephraim Chuku and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-02 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lost children can return home safely if they possess critical information: their names, their parents' names, and their parents' correct address. Captive human spirits face a more monumental task since they animate human beings in the material universe, incapacitated by the fall from eternal glory of perfection. As humans, we often give too much of our attention to mundane daily life, forgetting our Father's name and where he dwells. Worst of all, many times, we do not even realize we are lost. Captive human spirits desiring spiritual salvation must first realize they are lost before they can rediscover their true selves. If they don't know where they came from, they cannot ask to return. They must seek and find a genuine guide and friend who can help direct them along the right pathway. Jesus Christ is the Father's sole redeemer for all the lost spirits in the universe. He has the divine mandate of our heavenly Father, and he is ready to help all who seek help concerning the stark realities of the material world. We all live the story of the prodigal son and should choose to return to the true God through Jesus Christ.

Download or read book Old Testament Theology written by John Goldingay and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2009-10-26 with total page 913 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this third volume of his critically acclaimed Old Testament Theology John Goldingay explores the Old Testament vision of Israel's life before God. The first volume focused on the story of God's dealings with Israel, or Israel's gospel. The second volume investigated the beliefs of Israel, or Israel's faith. Now the spotlight falls on the Old Testament's perspective on the life that Israel should live in its present and future, including its worship, prayer and spirituality, as well as its practices, attitudes and ethics before God. Goldingay sees three spheres of life giving order to Israel's vision: its life in relation to God, its life in community and the life of the individual as a self. Within these frameworks he unfurls a tapesetry that is as broad and colorful as all of life, and yet detailed in its intricate attention to the text. With this final volume John Goldingay has given us the third pillar of an Old Testament theology that is monumental in scope and yet invites us to enter through multiple doors to explore its riches. Students will profit from a semester in its courts, and ministers of the Word will find their preaching and teaching deeply enriched by wandering its halls and meditating in its chambers.

Book The Final Testaments

Download or read book The Final Testaments written by Uche Chuku and published by . This book was released on 2007-02 with total page 664 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The blunt testimonies of The Final Testaments: Religion without Reason are aimed at awakening the willing, captive souls of humankind to the ongoing, final soul harvest by the Holy Spirit of truth-for the ultimate spiritual salvation by the resurrected Jesus Christ. The Final Testaments: Religion without Reason is an end-time call on the true sons of the heavenly Kingdom to arise, and be counted for the Heavenly Exodus. The only people who can hope for that are not customary Christians, but true Christ-followers, who surpass the mundane barriers of culture, class and creed. They are the ones who would attain the ultimate spiritual resurrection by the heavenly Messiah at the last day. To these ones, Jesus Christ promises a place in his Father's heavenly Kingdom, which transcends both Yahweh/Allah's so-called "Old World" and the "New" one to come. In the Father's perfect spiritual Kingdom, unlike in Yahweh/Allah's New Jerusalem, there would be no babies, old men, sinners, suffering or death. The resurrected souls would be restored to full spiritual selfhood, as perfect angels of God.

Book Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament Volume XI

Download or read book Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament Volume XI written by G. Johannes Botterweck and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 1974 with total page 639 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This multivolume work is still proving to be as fundamental to Old Testament studies as its companion set, the Kittel-Friedrich Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, has been to New Testament studies. Beginning with father, and continuing through the alphabet, the TDOT volumes present in-depth discussions of the key Hebrew and Aramaic words in the Old Testament. Leading scholars of various religious traditions (including Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican, Greek Orthodox, and Jewish) and from many parts of the world (Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States) have been carefully selected for each article by editors Botterweck, Ringgren, and Fabry and their consultants, George W. Anderson, Henri Cazelles, David Noel Freedman, Shemaryahu Talmon, and Gerhard Wallis. The intention of the writers is to concentrate on meaning, starting from the more general, everyday senses and building to an understanding of theologically significant concepts. To avoid artificially restricting the focus of the articles, TDOT considers under each keyword the larger groups of words that are related linguistically or semantically. The lexical work includes detailed surveys of a word s occurrences, not only in biblical material but also in other ancient Near Eastern writings. Sumerian, Akkadian, Egyptian, Ethiopic, Ugaritic, and Northwest Semitic sources are surveyed, among others, as well as the Qumran texts and the Septuagint; and in cultures where no cognate word exists, the authors often consider cognate ideas. TDOT s emphasis, though, is on Hebrew terminology and on biblical usage. The contributors employ philology as well as form-critical and traditio-historical methods, with the aim of understanding the religious statements in the Old Testament. Extensive bibliographical information adds to the value of this reference work. This English edition attempts to serve the needs of Old Testament students without the linguistic background of more advanced scholars; it does so, however, without sacrificing the needs of the latter. Ancient scripts (Hebrew, Greek, etc.) are regularly transliterated in a readable way, and meanings of foreign words are given in many cases where the meanings might be obvious to advanced scholars. Where the Hebrew text versification differs from that of English Bibles, the English verse appears in parentheses. Such features will help all earnest students of the Bible to avail themselves of the manifold theological insights contained in this monumental work.
