Book The Final Atonement and the Judgment of the Living

Download or read book The Final Atonement and the Judgment of the Living written by Mark Shipowick and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-03-29 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The final phase of Christ's atonement, the judgment of the living, is mentioned in several scriptures, including Revelation 14:6 which is heaven's announcement that the "hour of His judgment" has arrived. The attention of the world was first drawn to that message in the great revival of the early 1840's called the Second Great Awakening. Before the return of Christ this message will be proclaimed again in the power of the latter rain at the judgment of the living. Daniel 7 and Revelation 4 and 5 describe what takes place at that time. In both of these parallel descriptions the heavenly court convenes and at that time the Son of Man is glorified and given universal authority to complete the atonement, to establish everlasting righteousness and to bring human history to its consummation. This final phase of human history is described in Revelation 6, where, shortly after the Divine court session begins, the Lion/Lamb opens the seven seals one by one which end with the return of Christ. In Daniel 12, Michael, who is Christ, stands up at or near the start of this final judgment hour. The sounding of the trumpets and the outpouring of the plagues also begin during this time and all three - the seals, trumpets and plagues - run together to the second coming of Christ. Until now, most Seventh-day Adventists have believed that probation closes for everyone at the start of the seven last plagues and I respect that. But I also think it's a mistake that will result in a rude awakening for those who hold that view. So I spend quite a bit of time on that issue in this book quoting scripture and statements by Ellen White on the battle of Armageddon and others that show that the time of God's destructive judgments is a time of mercy for those who haven't had the opportunity to hear the truth but it will be too late for many. Probation will indeed have closed for some - the five unwise virgins. Most Adventists also believe the latter rain occurs before the plagues. However, the main part of the latter rain falls during the plagues. Revelation 16 teaches that probation remains open for many until the close of the battle of Armageddon. In addition to the quotes by Ellen White on Armageddon that are cited in the book, one indication probation hasn't closed during the plagues and during this final battle is that Christ Himself warns: "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Rev 16:15. If it's possible to lose your wedding garment and be found naked, probation hasn't closed yet. This is also confirmed two verses later when the voice from the throne says "It is done". Rev. 16:17. That Divine pronouncement is the final close for everyone, but notice, it occurs at the end of the battle of Armageddon at the seventh plague. And so, this book is a warning of the swift coming judgments of the seals, trumpets and plagues that will confront humanity as an overwhelming surprise at the judgment of the living. It points to the prophecies that identify the start of that process and follows them through to the return of Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Those who read The Final Atonement will quickly find the tone of enthusiasm positively contagious. Chinedu Daniel Obasi dove into forging this volume with the eager acknowledgment that the sanctuary message is the heartbeat of Adventism’s theology and mission. God, in His infinite wisdom, crafted an intricate yet accessible object lesson through which any genuine seeker can understand what He wants and needs to do to liberate humanity from the bondage of sin. The author vigorously encourages his readers to make this grand, divine theme the constant focus of their study. Obasi leaves few stones unturned as he examines, in significant detail, the key features and elements of the earthly tabernacle and its associated rituals. He saturated his tome with hundreds of Bible verses as he sought to verify how all these elements—the articles of furniture, variety of offerings, activities of the priests, etc.—point to Jesus Christ’s work to cleanse us from iniquity and restore us to righteousness. The story he tells toward the end will stir emotions in even the most stoic heart. Please don’t shrug off the opportunity to more deeply investigate the Lord’s quest to achieve at-one-ment with His errant children.

Book Daniel 8 14 the Day of Atonement and the Investigative Judgment

Download or read book Daniel 8 14 the Day of Atonement and the Investigative Judgment written by Desmond Ford, Ph.d. and published by . This book was released on 2018-07-07 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Desmond Ford was one of the most prominent preachers of Righteousness by Faith in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. In 1970, he completed a second doctorate in New Testament (eschatology) at Manchester University, UK, under the supervision of the eminent Professor F. F. Bruce. From 1960 till 1977, Ford taught at Avondale College, in NSW Australia and helped train a whole generation of ministers and teachers. In 1977, he and his second wife Gillian and family went to teach at Pacific Union College, in Angwin, California. Ford had many enemies who were bitterly opposed to his emphasis on a sinless Christ, justification by faith alone, a different interpretation of prophecy, and a kinder approach to Roman Catholic Christians. Robert D. Brinsmead, called "a gadfly on the flank of Adventism," switched from his Adventist perfectionism to teaching the Reformer's gospel of righteousness by faith in the early 1970s. This heightened the agitation against Ford, especially when Brinsmead renounced Adventism's unique doctrine of 1844 and the investigative judgment. Through historicist principles and with the aid of the nonbiblical Year-Day Principle, Adventists had taught from 1853 that in 1844, Christ entered the Most Holy Place in heaven and began the judgment of the living. The heads of the Adventist Forum chapter asked Ford to take a meeting on the subject of 1844 at Pacific Union College. After the talk, Ford was pulled out his classes and sent to General Conference headquarters to write up his views. This manuscript was the result. In August 1980 at convocation at Glacier View, Ford's views were rejected and plans for his dismissal were put in place. In this volume two, chapters 3 and 4 deal with the biblical issue of the Day Atonement in the New Testament books of Hebrews and Revelation in order to show there is no biblical evidence for 1844 and the Investigative Judgment.

Book excerpt: The Biblical Sabbath and its true Calendar... Jews, Seventh-day Adventists and many other Sabbatarians observe the Sabbath on Saturday, basing this practice on the fact that Saturday is the 7th-day of the Gregorian calendar week. But is this truly the Sabbath of the Creator mentioned in the Scriptures? Can a divine institution sanctioned by the Creator of the Heavens and Earth be observed on a calendar that has its roots in paganism, or is there more to the Sabbath question than many honest truth-seeking Christians have dared to ask? This book will reveal why neither Saturday nor Sunday are NOT the 7th-day Sabbath of the Lord. This is the message of the hour!

White and published by Yesterday's World Publishing. This book was released on 2020-02-20 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Lord has shown me that Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to Jesus Christ. His countenance was mild, expressive of happiness like the other angels. His forehead was high and broad, and showed great intelligence. His form was perfect. He had noble, majestic bearing. And I saw that when God said to his Son, Let us make man in our image, Satan was jealous of Jesus. He wished to be consulted concerning the formation of man. He was filled with envy, jealousy and hatred. He wished to be the highest in heaven, next to God, and receive the highest honors. Until this time all heaven was in order, harmony and perfect subjection to the government of God."-Ellen G White

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on Jesus, the four last things, and their relevance for our lives. He has much to teach us about these things. Jesus faced death with courage and was raised to new life by the power of his heavenly Father. He descended into hell and reached out to those who had alienated themselves from God. He promised to return at the consummation of time to judge the living and the dead and to establish the fullness of his kingdom. He lives forever in the house of his Father, hoping to draw all people to himself and make all things new. The book reminds us that, for Jesus, the four last things are just a prelude to the first things. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He teaches us to put last things first and first things last.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It should go without saying that Christ is central to Christianity. Most Christians know that He is the means by which God brings human beings back into fellowship with Himself. They may also be aware that Christ is our substitute and surety, our righteousness, and our pattern and example for living. What they may not know is that, as the sinless “second Adam,” Christ has become the new head of the human race and that, in leaving this world, He sent His Spirit to complete the adoption process for all who receive Him (Gal. 4:6, 7). And what they also may not know is that Christ is also our Wonderful Judge, which is encouraging news headed toward final judgment. Allan Freed describes Christ’s roles in human redemption, how the biblical sanctuary foreshadowed the pathway of reconciliation to God, and what the believer must do to cooperate with Jesus as He finishes His heavenly sanctuary ministry. He warns about a perilous path promoted by a three-part religious union that has declared Protestantism dead, and he offers insight to get on and stay on the pathway that will take us home to God.

Book excerpt: Putting God’s Last-day Church on Unmovable Footing In 1861, Ellen White wrote that we are now living in the time of the shaking and that everything that can be shaken will be shaken. (See Letters and Manuscripts, vol. 1, Letter 5b). These words are very alarming and cannot be brushed off lightly. Then in 1902, she penned the following: “Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads—it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved—just as soon as God’s people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come. Indeed, it has begun already.” –The SDA Bible Commentary, vol 4, page 1161. The truths that the people of God need to be settled into both intellectually and spiritually so they are unmovable in the time of the shaking, include the sanctuary, the investigative judgment and the three angels’ messages. We cannot aff ord to be willfully ignorant of these foundational life and death messages. We cannot afford to know just bits and pieces about them. If we are to remain secure and unmovable in the shaking time, we need to be grounded and fully settled in these truths which bring out more fully the work and mission of Jesus Christ in the heavenly sanctuary especially for those living in the time of the end. “Unmovable is recommended reading for all pursuing the backstory to Daniel’s chapter 8 vision, ‘Unto two thousand and three hundred days, then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.’” ~ John Fleming, Lay Pastor, Dobbins Seventh-day Adventist Church “This book has to be read by every single Christian who is waiting for the soon return of Christ. It deals with the very knowledge that will enable the readers to comprehend Christ’s redemptive work as the Great High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary and be ready to meet Him face to face.” ~ Eld. Michael Lee, Carnesville Korean SDA Church, Georgia, U.S.A. “Unmovable shines a bright light unto the path that leads to eternal life and helps guide the Christian through the theology that prepares us for translation!” ~ Sean Worix, Co-founder, Protestant Church Ministries

Book The Christian Understanding of Atonement

Download or read book The Christian Understanding of Atonement written by Frederick William Dillistone and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My concern has been to deal honestly with human problems and needs as far as I understand them and at the same time to present as true an account as I can of the way in which men have discovered answers related to those needs through all that is implied in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whatever else may be in doubt about the New Testament, it is clear that the Word of the Cross is its very heart and nerve centre. My aim has been to establish lines of communication between that nerve centre and the alienation of mankind in our contemporary world.' In this classic study of atonement, now reissued, Dr Dillistone not only examines the biblical and theological material on atonement but also surveys a wide range of human experience, including other religions, literature and the arts.
